We have sailed Oct 09 10 11 and 13, Other than this year it was fine, not a millpond but not particularly rough, this year it was a bit rough, Force 6 I think, going south (11th) and we were in the Med for the storm that affected a few sailings the following week, coming home was force 7 and a bit rocky, the Docs were doing a roaring trade with their seasick jags at £70 a pop. It was like watching coordinated drunkedness as people walked down the corridors.
Interestingly the ship never moved more that 10 deg side to side or front to back according to the app on my phone!

Phone Princess and ask. They have always told me how many are in a certain age group when I have asked.
For what it is worth the Scottish schools break up at the end of June following May exams and some families take their children out before the end of term ie last week in June. English schools break up mid July following exams in June.
Those dates impact hugely on the numbers of teens/children on board obviously.
I have found few UK cruisers who use the likes of cruisecritic and I would have thought that UK residents would make up the bulk of passengers when sailing out of Southampton.

Well I am mid 40s and to a degree agree about the limited entertainment on sea days.
I did sit on deck reading my kindle, yes even on Friday and Saturday crossing the Bay - that was me!
I love quizzes but didn't manage to get into any as there was never a seat when I arrived. On previous cruises have enjoyed them and done pretty well.
I watched one film in the theatre - would have been 2 but I couldn't get into one of them. Oh and one on the TV in my cabin.
I like to play shuffleboard and tabletennis. I always walked my mile around the prom deck - that takes me a while due to limited mobility.
I don't like karaoke although a choir might be fun, dancing is a no no now, how about cooking demonstration akin to cant cook won't cook - have seen that before.
The Entertainment team were conspicuous by their absence during the day I must admit.
We never get a chance to just sit and relax so enjoyed just that.
In the past the guest speakers have interested me, it's just your luck though. Given the 80's theme they could possibly have arranged another speaker related to the that.
I have seen a Q&A with Headliners - that was interesting.
I really don't know what else I would suggest for bad weather sea days, perhaps choose a cruise where there hopefully won't be any (I know I know I'm saying that tongue in cheek, I realise some people prefer or need to sail out of Southampton)- we are cruising out of Barcelona next year so avoiding the sea days through the Bay.
What do other cruise lines do?

Just got back from the 80s themed Oceana cruise
Mostly very good but OMG Paul Young was absolutely appalling
Never have I witnessed such a demise in a singers voice
Ditto, there was a thing in the mail online today about people walking out of one of his concerts on Wednesday.
Toyah was awesome though.:D

Thanks, I can't get the quantities right, it just doesn't taste the same. Mind you its late for raspberries now so maybe that's why.

Raspberry creme brûlée??
Could be, do you know the recipe? It was creamy like a dessert and served in a martini glass.

Does anyone know the recipe for the raspberry cocktail sold in the Planet Bar on Azura? I think it had baileys Chambord and crushed raspberries amongst other things.
Thanks
Why black and white, why not colour

DH wears his Kilt on Black and white night as that is the only formal wear he has, his Jacket is Black and his Shirt White so when he is sitting at Dinner no one would know.
The colour (Green/blue) does stand out though as we wander the ship during the evening.
