  1. Thx everyone for your input.  Celebrity had a price drop on our flights this morning so called them to get that changed and asked her about what the AA rep told me.  She said as a general rule airlines will start releasing seats for unpaid bookings about 2 months prior to flight.  Since our final payment is due in February w/flight being in May she felt pretty confident seats would be ok.  I’ll continue to keep an eye on the flights & seats.  She also said if I chose to pay for the flight early and there is a price decrease, the amount would be refunded back to the credit card.  Once again, thanks everyone and have a great weekend.

  2. Booked our flights on AA for next May through Celebrity.  Was able to get seats selected and have entered all personal info & confirmed seat selection through Celebrity & they are showing on my AA account.  It has the ticket pending remark & I know what that means.  Had to contact AA tonight for something unrelated but asked if the seats I’ve chosen are  guaranteed until the ticket is paid for through celebrity and was told no, they’re not, that until that ticket is paid they can reassign our seats to someone who has already paid.  Is this info correct?  Really like the defer payment option but if I do pay now, and the price drops, does Celebrity issue a refund to my card or it’s applied as an OBC?  TIA for the help.

Getting a bit " annoying"  ...........      quit playin with our fun time. If you insist on making an announcement that cruises will begin again on August 1, only to cancel cruises ( AGAIN), its  more than disturbing. Just pull the plug and cancel till 2021 or later date and be done with it. Rather have a true date to resume, and doing the yoyo back n forth, and insisting on posting CRUISE SPECIALS  continually only to yes.....cancel again.  More than irresponsible.

But then they couldn’t play with your $$.  If schools & universities show success resuming in the Fall MAYBE they will resume cruising in November or December.  But It has not gone well working through the phases for some states even with sweltering temps so resuming classes are going to be a big gamble.  If people get to cruise Jan 2021 I’ll be surprised.  But hey, all this time off should give them ample time to clean the nasty drapes, sofas, etc in the cabins particularly the older ships.  Just sayin is all 🤷🏼‍♀️

  4. Now y'all have me wanting to look at changing cabins on the panorama next March lol.  Thx for your replies.   One more quick ?  For the balcony cabin, did you find the walking path by the gate to your cabin to be somewhat intrusive or feel like people were looking into your cabin as they walked past or into sitting area from the cabins next door?  I really would like to try one of them but hubs has brought that point up as well.

  5. Same here.  Took advantage of L&S day they announced.  I had kept an eye on lower prices on our Oct. 2020 SOS since booking it in January & got it down to a pretty decent price.  Moved it to Oct. 2021 with a better itinerary & saved $1600!  Agent on phone told me not to bother checking for lower prices over the next year 😂.  Thanks RC for the L&S offer 👏🏻

  6. We cruised on Horizon last April and loved it.  Had a balcony cabin deck 7 I believe.  The Havana cabins piqued my interest, in particular deck 5.  Not sure why other than maybe it was super close to the bars 😂. Those of you who've stayed in Havana interior & balcony on decks 5 &/or 6, were you able to hear the music from any of the clubs?  I know they usually shut down around midnight (except for the late night dance club).  We don't go to bed with the chickens but occasionally will turn in before midnight if there's an early excursion the next day.

  7. My choice would be southern. Beautiful beaches at GT & Aruba.  Didn’t go to beach at Curaçao but wow is that place pretty.  They would probably have more fun though on your 3rd choice.  Grand Cayman they can do a stingray excursion and whoop it up in Cozumel.   Scratch 2nd choice off your list completely. The Dream is a beautiful ship but aside from key west those other stops they wouldn’t enjoy IMO.  We brought our son & 4 friends on their grad trip 9 years ago & he still talks about Cozumel.

As for the nightlife, trust me, whichever you choose they will have lots of fun on a summer cruise making new friends and dancing their tails off at the clubs.  We’ve watched kids (and some adults) in them during the late night hour and if the music is right they’re having a great time! 😂

Would love details on this. We are on this cruise Wennfred just booked. Husband and I have been meaning to do some trike trips and that would be a great chance to do one. Aruba is in the itin.

It's called Trikes Aruba.  They picked us up from the ship, brought us to their shop, showed us the Trike & away we went.  They lead the way in a van.  Aruba is breezy & beautiful.  You will love it.

Tried to copy the link & go figure it didn't work for me.  Quick google search will bring you right to it 😉

    Kiss on the Lips

    1 1/2 oz Peach Schnapps

4-6 oz Mango Mix ( I use Finest Call Mango Puree Mix)

    I Tbsp Grenadine

We make this in our Bullet Blender. Put about a cup of crushed ice in the blender and add the schnapps and mango mix. Blend well. Put the grenadine in the bottom of your glass. Pour the blended drink on top. Garnish with a pineapple slice or cherry. Enjoy!

    Thank you! 🍸

Funship, Remedy, and Chipotle Pineapple Martini amongst others.

My wife and I would watch the bartenders make the drinks and then try to guess what is used and how much when we get back home. Some trial and error, which could be fun. 😄

Chipotle pineapple martini?  Sounds really good.  Easy to make?

Back to Cruising for a quick minute, hope everyone is safe and doing ok.

I had to cancel my August vacation to the Big Island of Hawaii due to covid-19 lockdown and not able to leave the hotel room there for 14 days

Last year Wendy & I took a cruise on Empress of the Seas, it’s a small ship around 46,000 Gross Tons, which means less people onboard And hardly any kids, we got to go to Cuba which was a very nice experience, this was in May 2019 just before Cuba got banned again.

We booked Carnival Horizon for November 2021 and got one of those Havana Cabana cabins, there should be less people back there and hopefully quiet. Feel free to drop by and give me some advice on excursions you enjoyed most on this itinerary. Thanks!

    Fred

Good morning, if your November 2021 cruise includes Aruba, my husband and I took a great trike tour last April and enjoyed every minute.  The company was great.  Took us all around the island stopping at points of interest for pics. When stopping for pics & walking around, many times we returned to our trikes to find people on other excursions taking their pics with them lol.

I've spoken to two different Rc advisors now and have been told you cannot swap a western med for an eastern med cruise so I'm assuming that's the same for the caribbean 😞

Ourusualbeach is correct.  I was able to switch western to eastern but have not heard anyone switching southern.

I am currently on my second call - at least the initial wait time was only a couple of minutes this time. However, she stated the same thing - it has to be a Southern Carib itinerary, and she also verified it with someone else. I ended up Shifting it to Nov 7, 2021, on Freedom (same ship), Southern itinerary, but she did have to check first because the ports are not exactly identical. The problem we had is there are currently no Southern Caribbean sailings in October 2021, but DH's work policy is generally no week-long vacations in November-winter months. Hopefully they'll be ok with it though, since at this time he'd have to self-quarantine after returning, which would push his return to work into mid-November anyway. *craziness* We love Freedom and have been looking forward to sailing out of San Juan and the southern itinerary.

Southern itinerary is beautiful.   St Thomas is my favorite island.  I’m still SMH they wouldn’t give you what you originally asked for though.  We are booked for Eastern and St Thomas & Antigua are on that.   At least for now. Who’s to say in a year & a half lol.   Looks like you’ve got some beautiful islands to see and will probably fall in love with them all 😉
