We sailed with NG/Lindblad to the Galapagos in January. You are correct, we unfortunately did not find out which islands we would be sailing to until we boarded the ship. It seems they use two itineraries and alternate each sailing. I pretty much was able to figure out where we would visit, but wouldn't it be nice if they shared that information with their guests? We saw plenty of blue footed, red-footed and Nazca boobies, but we did not get to see their mating dance.

We traveled on the Atlas World Traveller to Antarctica in December 2022. Communication with Atlas before the trip gave us some anxiety, but once onboard everything ran smoothly. The cabins and ship are beautiful. The crew and expedition team were first class. We enjoyed the trip so much, we planned a back to back trip to the Arctic, leaving this August.

We have taken Azamara to the Chilean Fjords and Atlas Ocean Voyages to Antarctica. Although we loved our Azamara trip, Atlas delivers so much more. Given a choice, I would choose Atlas. We are going on another Atlas trip in August to the Arctic.

My husband will be using the Overboard Classic 20L waterproof backpack to protect his camera gear. Our research indicates backpacks are permitted and you should be prepared to get wet when on the zodiac. The bag has a waterproof rating of IP66.
