  1. Yeah, for sure. Still keeping an eye out for other options. I go solo so that means I have to be careful with pricing (and even the much vaunted NCL seems to have given up on great solo pricing) and I am very sensitive to the environment of the ship, etc. I couldn't care less about cruise directors or getting chummy with the Captain it's more the right environments. Then it's keeping an eye out for where they have cut things back post-pandemic, which are in different places for each cruise line I suspect and to different degrees. We shall see, I'm not a serial cruiser so I can keep an eye on things. If something comes off, great, if not fair enough 🙂
  2. This is a P&O Forum so I am specifically talking about P&O. Though I guess the issue of not having to take a flight currently is useful. The destination isn't that big a deal, beyond the fact it'd be warm in winter. The challenge is, it's a longer cruise so the things like entertainment and food which I found largely uninteresting (or laughable in the case of the buffet) might become more of an issue while they weren't part of my success criteria for Norway as much. I understand all cruise lines are playing with us a big post-pandemic though videos suggest not all of them to the same degree or in the same ways.
  3. I remain convinced Iona has never actually docked at the port of Geiranger. They just tell everyone beforehand the different place for operational reasons. A cruise excursion person actually told is they never had. I suspect 90% of the time it's always docked at Hellesylt or they've changed places all together an went to Flam - like today as far as I can tell from tracking the ship.
  4. So, does Iona even actually stop at Geiranger the actual port? People seem to get a lot of those operational reasons emails before their cruise and an excursions person told us they they'd never ACTUALLY docked AT Geiranger. Now, it wasn't so much a problem for me and I found the boat, albeit at £60 to be a great way to cruise the fjord! It just seems to be a bit of a con. It's even in Flam today so maybe this cruise they didn't even try to get in at all!
