  1. Whatever package you get online - you have to get for both ppl in the stateroom. I called and it was no problem getting a DBP for me and a Refreshment for my wife.
  2. I booked Rhapsody out of Haifa for a short 4 night cruise in mid September- first time RCL taster cruise. When i booked at the end of July the deluxe drinks package was $67 pppd - and it has fluctuated between $63 and $67 since then including many "promotions" that mathematically didn't make sense !! However, I got an e-mail last week with another promotion and lo and behold, the deluxe drinks package was $39pppd. I immediately cancelled the ones I'd bought and bought again at the new price.
  3. Everything that everyone has suggested is brilliant !! So much to see and do out there. You need to narrow it down to fit in with your preferences. Port-intensive cruise or one with lots of sea days. Nearby departure port or long travel time. Short cruise or long cruise. Figure out the basic things and the rest will follow. Enjoy!!
  4. Agreed - planning is all part of the fun. Also agreed re soft drinks, speciality coffees, mocktails etc - they can really add up, so they certainly contribute to the overall value of the alcohol package. I think everyone needs to work out what is "value" for them personally and where the break-even point is. You also need to remember that there is a 15 alcoholic drink limit per 24 hr period - so it's not unlimited like other lines. My wife and I are doing the 16 night pacific crossing in May 23. This will be our first Cunard cruise, having gravitated here from Crystal. The drinks package would be perfect for me but my wife hardly drinks - maybe 1 cocktail and/or a glass of wine, no speciality coffees, no soft drinks bar water. So unless I'm up for drinking about 11 cocktails a day (!!!!) it's pay as you go for us. Is there no way that they'll let you have 2 different packages if you ring up and ask? We're going on a quick 4-nighter on RCL in a couple of weeks - cheap and cheerful. They have the same beverage package policy, but I rang up customer services and there was no problem organising 1 alcohol package and 1 refreshment package. Is that possible with Cunard ?
  5. Sounds great - thank you!! Is it a country specific promotion? What I mean is it only for UK customers? I live in Israel so I booked through the Israeli site. Which number did you call?
  6. That's very interesting. I assume you mean the "refreshment package" which is on at $23 + grats rather than the "classic soda package" which is on at $8.99 + grats ??
  7. I thought you had to get the same package for each person in the cabin ???
  8. I'm doing a 4 nighter on Rhapsody in September. The DBP was $67 + grats, now it's $63 + grats. My problem is my wife doesn't drink (not even coffees/soft drinks) so I'll just be pay as you go.
  9. Many thanks. Now - any idea how to see that after the cruise has been booked ?
  10. I've just booked Bella through a US travel agency, which includes free drinks package and wifi. Can anyone tell me which drinks package it is please - Easy or Easy Plus? In addition - does anyone know what's included in the free wifi? Thanks in advance, Nadge
