  1. App developers usually send out notifications/alerts (and a date) when they intend to disable older versions of their apps, apply new hardware limitations etc. This was....hey this worked yesterday and today its not working. Interesting change management methodology.
  2. I am trying to find contact info for their tech support, but apparently they are ghosts that require an exorcism to locate. Just want to verify that this situation is their actual intent, versus an error or something else. Zero communication on the update/requirement, the old version worked fine 2 days ago. I get the new version requires IOS 17 (iPhone 11 or newer)...but surprised they killed the older version at the same time with no upfront notification
  3. Hello: Is anyone with an older iPhone getting a message "Time for an Update" when running the Celebrity app? As you login, It freezes the screen and forces you to go to the app store and get the required update. Problem is...the app store states the new version of the Celebrity app requires IOS 17 or greater (which is only available for iPhones 11 and newer). I have an iPhone 8+ (IOS 16.7.7) and do realize its somewhat dated, but surprised I can no longer run the Celebrity app which I use constantly while cruising. Anyone know of a Celebrity helpdesk or tech support number? Thanks
  4. Hello: Our next cruise we are Retreat guests on the Ascent. Although this our first sailing on an Edge-class ship, we have done many sailings as Suite guests on Celebrity S-class ships. I am concerned about Luminae for this cruise. For us, Luminae has a pretty limited menu and on many occasions we found ourselves ordering from the MDR menu. On the newer Edge-class ships, I understand this isn't an option most of the time. What's the process for us bailing on Luminae and substituting with Blu or one of the MDRs on Ascent? I suspect we can't just show up at BLU or the various MDRs...although that would be nice. What's the right process? Should I just reach out to the Retreat Concierge? Our thoughts were to check the Luminae menu in the am and if it doesn't work for that nights dinner, then we look at the other options and change/book/reserve accordingly. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

  7. Are room safes in 4star quality Hotels in Barcelona secure? With all the discussion about pickpockets, we plan to leave passports, cash etc in our pre-cruise hotel safe while we explore the city for a few days prior to embarkation. Thanks

Oddly enough, when you look at future cruises (summer 2024 and later) and choose a Retreat cabin booking, it still has the word "Butler" specifically showing up as a feature on Sky Suites and Celebrity Suites. If they are truly eliminating this service, very misleading to continue to tell customers booking SS and CS that they are getting it.

  11. Hello, Does anyone have any experience with Barcelona's airport....crowds, wait times, lines etc. Post-cruise will be taking an international flight back to US departing at 11am, estimating an arrival at airport between 8-9am. Trying to figure out if this is too aggressive. Thanks
  12. Hello: Planning a Celebrity Cruise for 2024 that terminates in Barcelona. The ship arrives at 6am (not sure about embarkation time) and I am looking at potentially booking a 11am flight back to the US from Barcelona's airport - El Prat. Never been to Barcelona before...does the timing work? Are taxis or transfers the best way to go? Thanks
  13. Hello: Has anyone had recent trips (Retreat cabin) on both E-class and S-class ships? I recently had several s-class trips and was really disappointed with Luminae. The ambiance and staff were great, but the food left a lot to be desired. I understand french restaurants are not known for large portions, but this took it to a new level. For example, one night my fish dish was less than the size of a business card and my wife's lobster tail about the size of a prawn. This was typical across the meals on the various ships. Even ignoring all that, the taste simply was not that good. The good news on the S-class ships, you can easily order from from the MDR when need be, but I understand that has been eliminated on the E-class ships. We just booked a cruise on a E-class ship and are hoping that on the newer ships maybe the Luminae quality is better. Has anyone experienced Lumine on both type ships lately? How do the compare?
  14. Hello: Can Retreat guests randomly show up to dine at Tuscan, Cosmopolitan, Normandie etc...like Luminae or is a prior reservation or notice required? If advance notice/res required, what is the process? Thanks very much.
