  1. Have a great cruise!!

Following along as we'll be on July 1st sailing. and our first time in a Haven spa cabin YAY!!

Our neighbors are also on your sailing.:D Maybe there will be in some of your picsLOL

Love the pics and thanks for sharing your cruise with us.

What time did the Haven start boarding just trying to figure out what time i should let our car service get us for our drive down from CT.

my neighbors arrived at 10:20am would that be a good time?

    Liz:cool:

  2. Hi BirdTravels

Dining alfresco looks amazing. Cant wait to have breakfast outside. Hopefully the weather will cooperate with our trip to enjoy some dining on the Waterfront. It was too windy the days we wanted to dine outside last summer on the Breakaway:(

Do you have to make reservations for Pinchos? And also in your Tapas descriptions what are the round orange puffs?

I really don't care for salmon but with the right herbs i can enjoy it. How did you like the Salmon?

A really great review Thanks so much.

    Enjoy!!

    Liz:)

  3. Hi BirdTravels,

Looks like you are having an amazing time with spectacular weather. Enjoy!! It's damp cold and rainy here in CT. Will Spring ever arrive.

That submarine excursion looks so fun. Do they go very far down and how long are they under the water for? That little kid seemed a little unsure though LOl.

I so want to try and remember to sign up for the Canvas by U. Missed it last time we were on the Breakaway.

Have a great time and thanks so much for all the info and beautiful pics!!

    Cheers!!

    Liz:)

BTW~~~~ any issues with not getting a straw in your drink? Huge thread about discontinuing straws.

  4.

The new coffee machines don’t have a frothier. We have our room steward empty the minibar and the butler keep ice water and ice tea in there. You can ask for half and half.

Three different pods. Espresso, coffee and decaf. Along with Tea Forte (pyramid) tea bags.

Good idea to have the mini fridge emptied. Looks like interesting coffee:D Is it good? LOL

Might have to try one of the luxury bath packages.. Have you tried any of them?

  5. Can’t really get into other people’s room now. Our Spa Haven on the Breakaway is on this link. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2504449

The Escape Spa Haven will have slightly more modern things like a Nupresso coffee maker instead of the older Lavassa.

No elevator from deck 16. The Haven lounge, bar, courtyard, pool, sauna is on Deck 17. The Haven Restaurant is on Deck 18. The upper courtyard and sundeck is on Deck 19. There is a private elevator in the Haven between deck 17 and 19.

    Hi BirdTravels

Thank You for the link. The cabin looks amazing!! Love that tub LOL:D

Will the new coffee maker have decaf cappuccino? Or can i ask our steward for that and Half n half?

    Have a great time!!

    Liz:)

  6. Hi Birdtravels

Your pics and review are wonderful.. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your cruise with us.

I am particularly interested in the Haven. This will be the first time in the Haven in July and we cant wait!!:D

We're in a Spa Haven desk 16. I Just love the fact that there's a soaking tub that looks out to the ocean.:D I don't know how you can~~~~but if you can get a pic of a Spa Haven:confused: I'd appreciate it. No worries if you can't. Also can you tell me if there's an internal elevator from Haven Deck 16 to 18??

So again thank you for all your pics of the ship as we'll be on her in July .

    Have a wonderful time!!

  7. The HOHO van was not operating in St George's, at least in 2017; there has been no announcement that there would be one in 2018.

If you want to go so FSCB, you can walk to it in about 20-25 minutes from the SG ferry dock. As a bonus, you will walk by the unfinished Church.

Achilles Bay is less than a 5 minute walk from FSCB, and as you walk to AB, you pass by the Beach House.

There is construction going on across from FSCB.

Thank you so much. but isnt it an uphill walk from the ferry? is it very far uphill? In the heat and humidity im not sure  years ago maybe LOL

    thanks again for your help

    Liz:)

  8. Hi

We're interested in the Hop on Hop off van that takes your to the east end beaches

How does the van work? Lets say we want to stop at the Unfinished Church and walk around. Does the van wait for people or do you wait for the next on to come by.

Plus we'd like to head to Fort St Catherine's Beach then on to Achilles beach. Is it best to just walk or will a van come by to pick you up and where do you wait?

Has anyone been to the Beach House for lunch? I understand its near the Achilles Beach.

    Thank you for your help

    Liz:D

  9. Hi Liz

I'm going to Bermuda on the Adventure in 2019 so that place interest me too. Are you doing it through Resorts for the Day? I did an online chat to ask for the menu for the lunch included and customer service said they would email me which they did. If that's who you went though, I'm sure they would email you as well. Go on their website and the online chat should pop up.

By the way, I remember you from the good ole Sovereign days in 2008. We both were going a week apart on the Sovereign but it took forever for anyone to post on our separate threads so we communicated to keep our threads on top.

    Mike

    Hi Mike

How are you and your family? WOW Has it really been 10 years:eek: So nice to hear from you again.

We have jumped ship and sailed NCL Breakaway last summer and now were going on the Escape. I do miss Royal and looking for sailings once they open up for the Oasis class Symphony of the Seas.

Yes i went through Resort for a day so i will email them for the menu.

Thank you so much for the info . I would never have guess they would have the menu. Coco Reef looks beautiful and we're just looking for a quiet relaxing day.

    Thanx again for your help

    Cheers!!

    Liz:D

  10. We're heading to Bermuda in July and have reservations for Coco Reef Resort day pass.

Does anyone who's been have a current menu for the lunch that's offered.

    Greatly appreciate it

    Liz:)

  11. Gem Haven was actually very quiet as well when we've been on. We also had a large balcony so we didn't use the upper area outside on the port side for Haven guests.

Our BA during spring break there weren't any unruly kids or loud adults. YMMV as per reports.

Jewel class Havens are so much smaller though although the pools aren't much larger on the big ships.

This is good to know. We'll be on the escape and was hoping for a little more quiet than what we experienced on the Breakaway last summer on the main pool deck. it was crazy. How NCL designed a ship of that size with one pool  is beyond me.

So going in expecting the worst but hoping for the best LOL;p

  12. You're welcome. We have never had a problem and hope your trip is wonderful and relaxing.

Thank You:) Im sure it will be a wonderful experience.

I know we are going in the height of the summer and there will be kids. As long as they're behaved i have no problem with them enjoying themselves. But maybe the kids pool area might be more fun;p

    Liz:)

  13. Seeing as this will be our first and very expensive cruise in the Haven.

I was very concerned about that previous post. I for one cannot tolerate unruly kids running a mock

While their parents sit idly watching their little darlings take over the hot tubs and pool. Screaming and yelling:p And absolutely oblivious!

So thank you for a positive post in that respect.

    Liz:)

  14. Yes.

It should be arraigned as early as possible since it takes time/resources to get things from one end of the ship to another.

Let either the concierge or maitre d know beforehand so they can work out the details.

The friend is staying in a suite, I presume.

No the friend and my daughter are not in a suite. Actually they're in a mini suite if that matters. We will be paying for them to join us for dinner. I just want to make sure there will be GF options for her. Thank you

    .

  15. NCL is great with gluten free, just contact the access desk in advance, you will meet with the dietary manager the first day. Dd ordered her breakfasts and dinners the day before, they were delivered wherever she wanted. Pasta, pizza, rolls, pancakes, waffles, eggs Benedict, muffins... she loves to cruise, better food than at home.

My daughters friend is GF will she be able to order something she enjoyed in one of the other restaurants to be delivered to the Haven restaurant when we have dinner there?
