Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I have not been able to find the list for about three weeks.
  2. Wow, so they’ve gone from seven days notice to now 24 hours notice. I just called my rep Monday and I have a standby for Saturday. So from your note, I could actually be told on Friday.? I think there’s a reason this program has no dates after April.
  3. I am also Eurodam standby for 3/24/24 . I called my HAL representative and they just said it could still happen still , so bag packed 😎
  4. I just got my phone call Tuesday for a Sunday departure. I had to laugh when I saw someone posted They got Vista suites this way. I got the inside cabin on the lowest deck you can get so I’ll see how this goes. as a solo traveler, it’s still cheaper than paying double so I have no complaints and I look forward to seeing what my first experience on Holland America Will be like. I am sapphire on Ncl and wanted to start experiencing other cruise lines.
  5. I am trying standby . I think it is unfair that solos are charged double. If the cabin is empty, more cruise line should do this. I don’t mind the one week prior notice since I live near the port . cruise prices have skyrocketed this year.
  6. Oh my , now I am worried! I am also going to call in the morning, but how can approximately go from one seven day notice to up to embarkation? That’s crazy how would they expect somebody to be able to run to the port the day of embarkation? It’s almost like they want to force you to cancel and lose your money.
  7. Yes, it says approximately seven days. And I am sitting here on that seven days away from sale date and no information via email so I am going to call them tomorrow (Monday) and check the status. It is my first time trying this
  8. Yes, that’s what I’ve been trying to figure out. I am on standby and it is exactly one week away so I’m curious what approximately is supposed to mean. By the time you get accepted there probably isn’t a chance to schedule anything. I thought I would try it, but I think it’s just a money grab . I’ll be curious to see how long it takes to get my refund if I’m not put on the ship.
  9. I am waitlisted for a departure in one week and still haven’t heard if I’m on it. Has anyone had any luck with this? I live near the port and thought I would try this but now I’m wondering if it’s just not a money grab for Holland America to hold your money. It’ll be interesting if I don’t get on the ship to see how long it takes them to give me back my full payment which was the $49 a day plus port fees and taxes in total $548. I guess I will call them Monday to verify statusThe instructions stated that it is approximately one week notice. I wonder if they wait till two days before. Has anybody ever done this? I would appreciate some input or information. Thank you.
