  1. We will be on the Summit in 2 weeks! I’ve read that the ships hairdryers are not the greatest so I plan on bringing my own. My hairdryer is 2000 watts, more than the standard 1875. Can someone tell me if there is any problem with the electric in the cabins being able to accommodate a hair dryer this strong?

My experience has been that the side of the ship really isn't that important except whether you like more or less sun on you deck.    Very rarely are you close enough when sailing to see land except when coming into or out of a port.   In Italy there are a couple places like Straights of Mesina that are incredible but you get a good view from both sides of the ship.

Have you checked the sticky for M-Class Cabins.   Good resource.

I found the sticky and perused through. Thank you!

I haven’t stayed in this cabin but I try and avoid cabins that on the deck plans that are across from the large empty white areas.  These are often crew access areas where room service deliveries,  cabin attendants, luggage come and go through.  So they can be a bit noisy.  I would prefer to be across from other cabins.   You might consider moving to a cabin closer to mid ship and across from other cabins.

Thank you good to know! And here I was thinking ‘blank space’ was better than being across from another cabin. Of course it’s not really blank! So much to learn 🙂

  4. I can’t speak for the WiFi because we are going on our first Celebrity cruise in February on the Summit doing S. Caribbean. I suggest checking with your carrier about coverage areas to be sure. We got the WIFi as a perk. We have Verizon as our carrier and Puerto Rico and St. Thomas are included in coverage. They have a Travel Pass for $10 per day per device so signed up on one phone in case we need it since we will be on either excursions or on our own. Now Verizon will always recognize if I am in another country and they only charge the $10 if you use it. Other carriers must have something similar.

  5. Hello, I am new to Celebrity. We have a courtesy hold for the Constellation leaving from Venice, deluxe veranda cabin 7100 (Vista deck 7 mid-ship starboard aft 2A class). I’ve poked around Cruise Critic and it’s difficult to find comments on this cabin location. Since we are going around Italy I thought starboard would be best, facing Italy. Can anyone comment on this location on the Constellation or a Millennium class ship, provided Millennium are all pretty much the same configuration? Would appreciate any comments or direct me to a place this information may exist within Cruise Critic.

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen problem at excursion desk, Celebrity put me on the wrong excursion (island delights) which i had absolutely no interest in and happily was reimbursed. We paid papa boat tours $65 a person at the pier and we went with 36 other people to snorkel at Anse chastenet and have lunch which was $15 a person. The reef unfortunately is slowly getting worse each time I return to St. Lucia at Anse Chastenet. There's still fish but its slowly dwindling. I really did not like that amount of people but they never stay in as long as us so it was all good.

Thanks for checking back in. We will probably stick with West Side Treasures. Even if no snorkeling, it goes to the Pitons and also Pigeon Island which looks interesting. Enjoy the rest of your cruise :).

  7. If they are honoring the reservation at the regular price that’s great and noble of them, but I still wouldn’t want to go with that ‘special’ menu. They’d be better off keeping the regular Tuscan menu (which is why we wanted to go in the first place!) and perhaps adding some other special touch such as specials in addition to menu (not in place of) or (soft) live music or just a little something romantic.

  8. Welp, just as predicted I received the email from Celebrity this afternoon. Here it is. Same menu as Murano. We planned and paid for this 2 month’s ago at $45 pp (cancelled and rebooked at $40 pp during a sale). Not very friendly of Celebrity. We should all get on the phone and complain. We will be dining in the MDR that night which is fine by me. We have reservations at Tuscan Grille two other nights of our cruise but this certainly has put a bad taste in my mouth. I’m sure there’s something in the ‘fine print’ that they can change on us but not very good guest relations nonetheless.

Not too many are listed on the spreadsheet and after a noisy cabin last time we want some decent sleep this next holiday.

    cheers.

Hello - I do not have an answer to your question but was wondering where I could find said spreadsheet.

  10. Very good question which I’d like to know the answer to because @Peter118 and I have an 8:30 reservation on Valentine’s Day on the Summit but for the regular $45 pp. I made the reservation quite a while ago and both $45 pp and $119 pp were available. I recently saw a post on CC that somebody else had a similar situation and Celebrity apparently didn’t realize it was Valentine’s Day and told them they needed to pay the $119 instead of $45 and I believe it was for the same menu. I did not get any notice yet but am prepared and will probably eat in the MDR that night if Celebrity is going to charge $119 pp simply because it’s 2/14. We already have reservations at Tuscan  for the first night at my birthday on 2/11.

  11. Hello, we are scheduled to do this excursion on the Summit in February. I thought I read somewhere that there is an opportunity to snorkel if you so choose. Can anyone confirm this? It’s a long tour, 6 hours I think, so it would be nice to have an option for snorkeling at some point.

You only need one package- so just list the occupant who is first on the reservation.  All three will be able to get pictures taken either together or individually if in the same cabin.  Since you limited yourselves to 12 pictures, I don't know how that works-

With the unlimited package, other people may be included in your picture as long as the picture is taken and includes one or more passengers in the booked cabin.  We paid $100 for all (unlimited) digital prints!  The best deal!  We took hundreds of pictures- but didn't want the hard copies and they would take up too much space and weight in luggage.  Consider this option in the future. A real bargain!    If you are having a problem, call Celebrity's main number and they will direct you.

I can select one passenger in cabin for $100 or 2 passengers for $200. So if I’m understanding correctly I only need to select one passenger for $100 and will have the same result? Meaning we will both be in the pictures or will one get shoved aside or cropped out? Lol  I guess there would be instances where each passenger would want their own pictures but not typically for couples or families.

I can't tell if you are referring to me, but I did order the unlimited package for $100.

I selected my wife on the order so glad to hear it counts for the whole cabin individually or together. It will allow my 14 year old daughter to get more pictures since she is in the selfie stage. 😉
