  1. Hi

Have been offered 7203 or 7206 C1 with huge aft balcony. They are giving us the OBC and AI drinks package as well as the 200 OBC (apology) so that isn't too bad. Very tempted.

I just checked on a reliable German based cruise website and it shows that 6143 and 6144 are still available. Although these aren't aft facing, they are BIGGER balaconies AND larger C1 cabins than any other Concierge class cabins onboard!

This is the 10 day Greek isles sailing correct? That actually sounds like a really good deal. I've been in one of those cabins before on a cabin crawl. They are very nice! Although the M class ships aren't as new as the S class ships, they are still really nice. We love the Infinity! :)

  3. We were in 6136 on the Infinity (sibling ship) about a year ago, had an amazing BIG balcony for a Concierge class cabin; Very sunny as well. 6135 across the ship is identical. 6144 and 6143 a little further aft are even BIGGER, yet still C1 cabins. They are all situated above the MDR upper level so no noise at night at all.

We've also stayed in one of the newer Oceanview cabins on deck 3 near the conference center, cabin 3130. All of these cabins from 3112-3144 have HUGE windows with an expansive view. They are also very quiet with little foot traffic.

    I hope this helps.

  4. Are you guys going through Pied Piper or just on your own?

I booked Paul and I on our last Pacific Coastal cruise in September 2016. Got a really good deal with two perks + $200 OBC. I was going to switch to Pied Piper but they were making it difficult to transfer the sailing so we just stayed with our TA. I'm sure we will see many of the guys and gals from that group about the ship anyhow. We are doing Select Dining at 7:30 each night, already made the reservations. Might slip a specialty night in, I hear Tuscan Grill is really nice. We are flying on Alaska OAK to HNL on Sunday with around noon arrival so we will leisurely make our way to the pier since according to our cruise booklet, the ship will need a Coast Guard inspection upon arrival and check in wont start until 1:00 PM. Martini bar? YES!! We hit it every night and I've already upgraded my beverage package to premium to accommodate.

A little about us, we are Pat and Paul from Sonoma County CA. This will be our 6th Celebrity cruise and 8th cruise in all. On Celebrity we have previously cruised Mercury twice and Infinity 3 times. We have also been on the Coral Princess and NCL Pride of America. The POA cruise was chartered by RSVP and was our only all gay cruise. Can't wait to meet everyone on board!

  5. We enjoyed some of the cocktails that the Molecular Bar offered but never really like the ambience of that area on Solstice. It's cold and empty. That hasn't changed and we didn't find one cocktail that tempted either of us on the World Bar menu on our recent Solstice cruise so didn't go there at all.

Can you tell me where the World Bar is on the Solstice? We are sailing on the Solstice first time (any S class ship for that matter) in May and want to be sure to have a looksee.

    Thanks,

    Pat (and Paul)

  6. My wife and daughter are onboard currently.

They switched the decks for dining in the MDR after the dry dock.

Assigned dining is now upstairs (Deck 5) and Select is now downstairs (Deck 4).

We were on the Infinity in May for the Pacific Coastal cruise and they had just switched the fixed and Select dining for our cruise. We were fixed and ate upstairs. We asked several dining room staff why and they said that more people want Select on the Alaska cruises and this was the cruise before the Infinity started it's Alaska run. They wanted to start orienting the staff with the changes early.

  7. Overall, it was an OK cruise. The MDR menu really need to refer to previous generations menus where there where more choices for each course. Now there are 'starters' and 'entrees'. Cabin 3130 was awesome if you are on an M class ship. Well placed for an Oceanview. Bistro on 5 needs a remake or make it free. We saw no more than 5 people in there at a time and mostly at dinner. Get real Celebrity! People aren't paying $10 for lunch!! Shows were OK. What really shines on the Infinity is the crew. All nice and attentive. Our MDR waiter was an absolute blast! The assistant was awesome too. Even our coffee shop guy was good, as well as the Martini server. Embarkation was smooth, but we were select so the special line was nice. We are now Elite, so next review we will tell more. We usually cruise in Concierge class, but this time was OpenView. It wasn't much different, just no balcony, but a huge window instead. I look forward to our Solstice cruise in May from Hawaii to Vancouver. Never been on the S classed ships.

  8. The "out of office" and extended voicemail greeting have now been activated. What a brilliant feeling. I bet you can't wait to do the same? A two day working week is still quite good in my book though :-) At least you haven't got too far to travel on Wed. I must admit, I'm not exactly relishing the idea of a 14 hours flight. It's bit planes, trains and automobiles for us (home to Manchester to London to San Diego.....yuk). Still, lots of books and movies to while away the hours. We booked everything directly with Celebrity themselves this year. When you say a gay group, do you mean you booked for a gay travel agent or are you going with a bunch of friends? I think celebrity usually do a LGB mingle gathering so would be good to meet up there if you fancy for that drink?

We are booked with a gay travel agent that runs specific gay cruises. In this case, a Bear group cruise. I can't quote the specific website due to cruise critic rules, but if you google bear cruise you will find it quickly. We haven't done a gay group cruise in a long time, like 15 years so it could be interesting. Regardless, we are certainly up for meeting for a beverage with you blokes. What dining do you have? We are late dining with the group, but will likely take in at least one night at Tuscan Grill.

Email me if you like (bear95446 at gmail dot com) quicker communication really.

  9. When does your vacation start? Are you having to fly into San Diego too?

We work up through the 10th so our vacation really starts on the 11th, sail away day. We fly into San Diego that morning, departing Sonoma County (about an hour north of San Francisco) around 10AM for the hour and 45 minute flight to San Diego. We don't even have to go to San Francisco to fly this time. The airport is only 30 min drive from our home.

Did you guys book with a group? We did, a gay group. Not sure what they have planned for the group though.

  10. Hi Pat & Paul, we're Steve and Simon from the U.K. Really looking forward to the Pacific coastal cruise next month and exploring more of the States. Should be a fab cruise......need to fast for the next four weeks to ensure we reach the break even point on the scales at the end! Can't wait to visit San Francisco, Seattle and Vancouver. Would love to meet up for a glass or two. Have you booked any trips as yet?

Sorry I missed this guys. No excursions booked yet, we are kind of 'going with the flow' as us Yanks say. See what happens. Would love a pint / glass or two! We are on deck three, OV cabin, you guys?

    Pat (& Paul)

  11. We also had the classic drink package and yes you can still get martinis. The difference is they will serve it in a smaller martini glass. No biggie, no limit, order as many as you want

Thanks for the great positive cheerful review!

With classic drink package can you only have small classic martinis (gin with vermouth) or other varieties as well.

    Thanks,

  12. Just an FYI, Infinity is NOT doing the Salesforce thing this year. They were originally chartered for that conference Oct 4-7 2016 and the preceding cruise was only going to be a 9 night cruise. However Salesforce canceled the charter and the pacific coastal cruise was expanded to a 12 night cruise that now goes all the way to San Diego and hits Catalina Island. We originally booked the 9 night onboard our pacific coastal last September, but had decided we wanted longer, so we are now on the 11 night Infinity pacific coastal San Diego to Vancouver in May.

I have no idea if Salesforce will want to charter Infinity in 2017 or not. I just wanted to let you know the skinny for 2016.

    Thanks,

    Pat

  13. Oh, I forgot to mention another odd thing about day two / sailing day. Since we had spent our first night sitting in San Francisco bay, we actually sailed on the second evening. For whatever reason, Celebrity decided the first formal night would be that night as well. Many people that had early dining were a little disappointed that they had to cut their sail away party short so they could get back to their cabins to get in formal wear. Many thought it would have made more sense to have the first formal night on the first sea day. Luckily we were in select dining so we ate much later after going under the Golden Gate.

  14. Round trip SF we started September 4th. It was an adventure. Overnight San Francisco. Day two we ventured up stairs to Coit Tower. What fun! Monterrey was next. Then a day at sea. Oh Ensedada was on our our radar. What a sad city. So poor. Then on to San Diego. So Hot! And humid! The hottest day of the cruise. Catalina was nice. We rented a Golf Cart...what fun! Then on to Santa Barbara....lots of fun. The day of sea was fun too, I got my money back from the casino. Overall a great Cruise. Thanks Celebrity!
