  1. From the terms and conditions:

"Once Guest is selected and notified as a Successful Bidder, the Guest will be required to make payment (i) via the Cruise Personalizer at princess.com, (ii) have their travel agent make payment via POLAR Online, or (iii) call the PCL Contact Center at 1-800-Princess, within 48 hours of the Booking Confirmation transmission date/time or¸ for bids accepted within 5 days of Cruise departures, must be paid within 24 hours of Booking Confirmation transmission date/time or as time allows. Once a Bid is accepted, the Guest is legally bound to complete payment for the price stated in the Bid. If a Guest's credit card does not go through, is declined, or cannot otherwise be charged, PCL may (but is not required to) reach out to the Guest for an alternate method of payment or may disqualify the Successful Bidder and return the Guest to their original category, all in its sole discretion. No changes, refunds, or cancellations will be permitted after payment is made, PCL cannot guarantee a specific cabin number within the upgraded category and the cabin position will depend on space availability and are at the sole discretion of PCL."

Now when I asked them via live chat they said I could decline the upgrade if I did not like the cabin location I was given and could keep my original stateroom, however it seems like you might not be able to get your old cabin back if it has not been sold already. Like many have said its a gamble and that's the risk you take if you want to upgrade via bidding

  2. Looking to book our passes for the Enclave on Discovery next month, only problem is when I go to my cruise personalizer and then to on board services it show the 5 day thermal pass but it will only let me select one passenger in the cabin. Is the pass per cabin or per person?

Just received my bid acceptance email for the 11/10/2022 Discovery sailing. Bid slightly above the minimum. Moving from a CC mini to an S4. The process was similar to what others are saying.  I first received the emails for the bids that were NOT accepted. The acceptance email came 30 minutes later and is titled "Yay - you got your stateroom upgrade". They tell you to pay on your Cruise Personalizer but right now I am getting a notice that their website is having difficulties. 🙄 I have 48 hours to pay, though.

We are on the sailing after yours leaving on the 14th, looks like we might be next in line to hear back about our bids. We are also booked in a CC mini and bid on the penthouse, aft pent and owners suite. 🤞

I don’t think Princess would block cabins of any category for bidding. It goes against increased revenue.

Not necessarily, I would think letting others that are in mini suites bid for higher suites would open up lower suites for those booked in say balcony's to then bid on mini suites. That would then potentially open up more balcony's for insides and ocean views to bid on that they might not normally book therefore getting people into a cabin that might stay unsold rather than leaving them open at full price. I for one know I would never book a penthouse or owners suite unless I had a great casino offer or a chance to bid on an upgrade. Heck that's the only reason I booked a mini suite in the first place was because of my casino promo. Again this is just my opinion and I could be completely wrong

2 weeks  from  saturday.  now  all  the club class mini  suites and  suites  are all sold  out.  Ship  is  not  full.  lots  of minis and insides still show availability.

I don't sail till November 14th but all suites show sold out already online but who knows if they just blocked them out for bidding?

bid  on club class mini:  two different   bids...one  for midship and  one for  forward.  Received email  two  days ago  that bid  was not  accepted,  but not  sure which bid.

Today  received email  that  bid  was  accepted on  the  mid  ship club class  mini.  Payment information was  in  cruise  personalizer.  called  casino  and  made  payment.

Excited and  happy  for successful bid on club class  mini.

    Congrats, when is your sailing?

That may be how it's supposed to work, but no one has yet reported on this yet.

When we won our bid, we were assigned the new suite even before payment was made; in fact, the upgrade fee shows up as a balance due and the due date was the original final payment date (i.e., a date in the past).

I believe you have 48 hours to pay, and if you don't pay, the upgrade is revoked and you are "supposed" to get back your original cabin.  But if someone else is upgraded to your now vacated original cabin in the meantime and paid the upgrade charge, then what happens?  Maybe they have a system in place to prevent that, but I would not trust Princess IT.

I guess only time will tell, I have the chat transcript saved incase something happens, not sure it will help me but who knows.

  8. Sailing November 14th on Discovery and got the email to bid on September 6th, we are booked in a club class mini and options to bid were Penthouse $400pp, Aft Facing Penthouse $500pp, Owners Suite $550pp and Sky Suite $1775pp. Confirmed with Princess via chat that if I bid on a room and do not like the location I can just not pay the upgrade fee and keep my original cabin. That being said I placed bids for the penthouse, aft penthouse and owners suite just now, not going to get my hopes up because I waited basically a month to place them but not sure how many have already bid on them.

  9. Anyone currently aboard Panorama? Looks like the current sailing is being cut short due to hurricane Kay. Looks like they were in Cabo first and then went to Mazatlán for a bit skipped Puerto Vallarta and are now headed to long beach or possible Ensenada as a substitute? I was trying to pull up the bridge cam but is seems they are down. She is in some pretty rough seas currently, looking like 7+ meters or 22+ feet, rain and wind. Just curious if anyone on board could share some info or pictures

The stewards are very much concerned that by saving them work, you are one of those who decide to save yourself some money b removing tips so they want to try hard to show you some service.

That's why I am going to tip them cash on the first day

I did this once and the steward kept feeling like when I asked I wanted it right then and I felt like I was causing more work than just letting them service the room so I just let them service it. Each to their own.

We have had a few that think the same but I just let them know we are in no hurry and to stop by when they have a chance, its worked out in the past but I can see how it could mess up the rhythm of their workflow

The steward still checks your room every day.  Leaving the DND up all day doesn't change that.

We have actually had the DND sign up and been in the room when they knocked on the door and popped their head in to check everything was ok, luckily we were out on the balcony when that happened

We just leave the Do Not Disturb sign out on those days we don't wish to be bothered and bring it in on days we want service.

We usually do the same but I just wanted to give the steward a heads up that we most likely will not need them to service the room daily. I would just catch them in the halls when we need something

  14. Is it possible to tell our cabin steward to not turndown our cabin everyday? I would tip them on the first day and let them know if and when we need the trash taken out or extra towels but other than that we will take care of the rest. Not sure if Carnival allows that or not. I know some hotels in Vegas need to have housekeeping "check" the room every 3 days
