  1. You might find a previous post about this cruise helpful. It is titled "Excursion Advice Mediterranean Odyssey", dated January 20 . https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2907503-excursion-advice-mediterranean-odyssey/#comment-64672433
  2. We were on the Med Odyssey last April. You will love it!! Some ports may have changed, as we did not stop in Chiogga. We took mostly included tours, too, but highlights of the optional tours we took are: Nice, Eze & Monte Carlo excursion was a highlight. Full day and so enjoyable. Definitely one of our favorites. Quite a bit of walking, including steep hills and cobblestones. Tuscany to Pisa. We did this in place of the included tour to Florence, because we were going on the post-extension in Tuscany which included much better touring of Florence. We enjoyed seeing Pisa and the leaning tower Sistine Chapel & Vatican City. This was a must-see for me. Was not disappointed Pompeii: Did this on advice of others. Highly recommend Evening Gondola Ride: Viking did not handle the logistics of this well. Between issues with docking outside of Venice, bussing/boating us in and being one of the first tours coming out of the pandemic, it was very messy to say the least. However, we did enjoy this very "touristy" excursion and can now say we experienced it. The biggest surprise of the trip was how beautiful Corfu and the 2 stops in Croatia were. You will love this cruise!!!
  3. Being from Kansas and KU grads, we tried desperately to find the NCAA basketball championship game last March on the Viking Sea. No live sports that we could find. Couldn't even stream it on our phones.
  4. I would call the Air+ phone # and wait to talk to an agent (ignoring the recording). Our TA got our Air+ flights about 8 months ahead. When I called Air+ to upgrade the seats the agent at Viking said the flights are reserved, but not actually ticketed until 90 days before, (unless you choose Delta, because they have a different contract with Delta) and seats cannot be upgraded until ticketed (?)
  5. Not exactly. it came up as i was scrolling through FB...and was a Viking ad.. Cant find it again, but wrote down the promo code.
  6. I'm in the same boat... no promos whenever i have a future cruise booked (which is most of the time. I just saw a July 4th promo on facebook. OLM4. Not clear on what exactly it can be applied toward, but think there are some limited Mediterranean ocean cruises it can be used.
  7. Yes it was required when we embarked (no tests were optional!) As i said, everyone we saw embarking was required to test, but i heard that those embarking late in the day did not. They may have realized the error of their ways (?). I would chat with Viking directly. It seems to be changing by the minute.
  8. Right inside Barcelona terminal. They had full medical team with lab. They may have realized the redundancy (and craziness) of that step. I heard that those who arrived late on embarkation day didn't have to..(????)
  9. We got back from our Mediterranean ocean cruise on Viking about a month ago. We went to great measures to make sure we had the tests in the proper timeframes. Based on our departure times, we really only had 48 hrs.. Since CVS and Walgreen said results returned usually in 48-72 hours, but wouldnt guarantee anything, we went to both. And we scheduled a back-up 24hr antigen test ($$+) just in case. CVS didn't even time stamp, just date stamp. Walgreens did. Both got back in time, so we cancelled antigen. AND here's the kicker..... NO ONE asked to see them!!! In talking to other passengers on the ship, some said Viking asked to see them and some said Viking did not ask. And after landing in Barcelona, we got nasal tested at the cruise terminal, then walked to our room where we took a saliva test before leaving our room (both within an hour of each other) Overlooking all the covid craziness, it was a great trip!!!
