Regarding the £50 a Princess Plus package, if you use the internet a lot like I do for work, it is just about worth getting. The gratuities are $16 a day, so then it will come down to how much you drink. Also if you push them Princess will allow you to refare once, if the price drops. I have sailed on Enchanted and Caribbean Princess and had excellent service. We had forgotten to bring a US adapter so our steward got one for us free of charge (they were $27 in the shop). Just be aware that the headline price excludes flights (if needed) on the Princess website.
Does the refaring work if sailing from Southampton?and booked via UK website?

I am a Southampton NY Southampton in August. I hope I get this double allowance too.

I have had to ask for mine every time. Never had one waiting for me. I have mine on my winter coat lapel for winter embarkation from Southampton. Also have a souvenir Cunard lanyard with duplicates on, ship pins and year pins. Never wear it!

This is similar to the article I read but from different publication. Think it was the Insider. Definitely a watch and wait situation.

Yes thank you. Just read Doug Parker’s article. He also throws Sun Princess into the mix and somewhere else mentioned an Aida ship.

My recollection was you could only book for the number of people in your cabin.

I would be interested in that information too. Just tried to access the original F T article but it’s membership only.

Definitely Golden Lion Pub. QM2 doesn’t have such a wide selection on the menu sadly and no starters. My favourites are the curry, the fish and chips and burger when on QV or QE. Last month on QM2 we had the same curry in Britannia restaurant one night. Food is only available at lunch time and until 2 30. Don’t miss it.

I certainly wouldn’t pay that sort of money for one drink.

Carnival Corp have indicated they only have 1 out of the 45 ships affected. We will just have to wait and see.

New to cruising is the target market for most cruise lines where they envisage the most growth going forward.

I had a deck 8 forward cabin and loved it. Most people walked on by without staring in and if I was stood out leaning on the rail would speak. but as others have said any cabin is better than no cabin in my eyes and I would not turn anything down and make it work.

Thanks Andy. That’s our plan. Thinking about that disruptive group, it’s unusual for groups of guys to go on a cruise. I wonder if they might have been crew, or even some of the entertainment people? We often see groups of crew in the speciality restaurants. Thankfully none has ever caused us any problems, other than it grates a bit when the restaurants are showing as full 🤔Only officers are allowed in guest areas and must be in full uniform. It may be other teams such as entertainment but won’t be crew.

We find these to be ideal for holding luggage labels - I print them up at 130% size and the trim off the excess, folded they fit perfectly. Because they can be easily reattached they can be left off for the outbound flight and attached once landed.
I use that brand . Didn’t know about printing to 130%, will have to try that next time. Mine have lasted so well. Family borrow them too. 😀Did buy some replacement ties but that was my fault I snapped one.

I would not risk taking the train to London and back with such a tight turn round in the current climate. I live near Southampton. Train cancellations and delays are frequent. I would stick to any tour Cunard are offering to be sure not to run until any difficulties getting back to the ship.

Cunard and P& O come under Carnival U K so will have different policies to other Carnival brands. Similarly Princess may have different policies to say Costa , Aida, HAL , Seabourne, Carnival or P&O Australia. All under Carnival Corp .

Was it a Cunard Fare or saver ? Saver can be allocated up to the day of sailing.

They set a minimum amount you can bid for each level of upgrade you may want. Bids are per person .

Last cruise QM2 June, they were a different style and smaller. They were closed toe, different fabric and no Cunard logo. I liked them better from a size point of view. Were in cabin.

You should get two lots of shareholders credit one for each voyage as they have different booking numbers. You will have to apply for this though in your normal way quoting both booking references. Can’t help with other sources as only ever get shareholder or Cunard OBC . You won’t be able to carry any over from one cruise to other . Any left will be lost.

Cunard boarding times?
in Cunard Line

Boarding is allocated by deck so if your friends were on a different deck that’s why there was a difference. Non priority boarding does not take into account loyalty status.
