Hi we are on the HAL cruise arr DA Nang 26 Dec... again looking for ideas of what to do and where to go?

Hate doing ship's organised tours.. so any advice gratefully received.

Hi, I've been reading your comments and some are positive some are negative..

We are visiting Vietnam as part of an Asian cruise on HAL over Christmas / NY..

We stop in four places Halong Bay, Da Nang, Nha Trang and Phu My.

Can anyone recommend the must see sights for these places? And which of the tour guides they recommend?

Sorry to ask this again, but wondered if you would have time to give me a quick reply to my Blue Lagoon query...

I need to decide whether to visit the Blue Lagoon with a private guide that I am organising, or whether it is a place one can visit on one's own.

Reading all the web sites, both here and on trip advisor it seems quite possible to visit alone.. and to book on the Blue Lagoon website in advance.

What I need to know, to help me decide if it is worth it, is the approximate cost of a taxi to the Blue Lagoon? And if taxi's are readily available there to take me back to the ship?

Then I can find out how much the organised tour will be without the Blue Lagoon, and judge accordingly.

thank you as others have said for starting this thread.. I will be visiting Iceland for 1 night two days in early September on the Eurodam. I have found a tour company recommended on Trip Advisor and they have given me an itinerary of essentially the Golden Circle tour on Day one and then the Blue Lagoon on day two.

I have been looking online and it seems to me that the Blue Lagoon is accessible alone and that we would be wasting our money to use the tour guide.

Can you possible give me some answers to the following, as you live there..

1) How far is the Blue Lagoon from the cruise port in Reykjavik.

2) Can you give me any idea at all of approximate taxi cost to the Blue Lagoon from the cruise port?

3) Are taxis readily available at the port to go to the Blue Lagoon, and then again to return us to the ship?

Am I correct in my assumption that it is something that we can do on our own.

hi everyone, arriving on Eurodam 30 August into Bergen...

Seems to me from all the posts the Funicular is a MUST do... we don't want to do cruise tours... so assuming there will be other like minded people.. is it a mad rush to go on the funicular...?

Where can I buy the tickets? How much do they cost? and how long does the funicular journey take?

I did a med cruise once stopped at Santorini.. took 2 hours to go up to the top.. half an hour at top and had to go down again...

really don't want the same scenario at Bergen!!
