I never have to wait for a drink after that
Sounds more like quid pro quo than tipping. 😂

1% of 2400 passengers (at 60% capacity) is 24 people.
Your math only works if everyone gets covid. And it's not 1%, it's less than 0.1%

That’s what the fully vaccinated passengers on the Celebrity cruise to Alaska said earlier this week until they were escorted off the ship and medivaced home.
The chances of a vaccinated person getting very sick is still way below 1%.
However, the chances of an unvaccinated person with a fake vaccination card getting sick is much higher.

I am not getting any younger and I want to do the things I enjoy before I am too old to do that.
My feelings exactly!

The way it is looking you would be wearing a mask in Bermuda also
Yup. The Bermuda option was primarily to avoid air travel and just be closer to home if I had the dreaded false-positive test.

I re-evaluated my Greece cruise for October once I found out that masks were required on the ship. I contemplated changing to a Bermuda cruise from NY, but I finally decided that I will go on the cruise from Athens. I'd rather be on the Jade in Greece with a mask, than sit at home without one.

I don't believe that vaccinated passengers require testing to disembark in the US.
You need to have a negative test before boarding a flight to the US, vaccinated or not.

How are you traveling to Manhattan?
Hi Markeb. After looking at hotels, we won't be traveling the day before the cruise. We would be traveling from Springfield, Mass. for the Oct. 10 cruise on an early train which gets us to Penn Station at 9:30 or 11:30 am.
I haven't updated the cruises on my signature yet. Still debating whether to cancel the Greece cruise in favor of Bermuda.

I'm looking to book a hotel for one night in October before my Bermuda cruise from NYC. Any recommendations? Thanks.

Is this your first cruise on a BA class ship? If so, have you considered looking for an angled balcony? It will have a slightly bigger balcony.
I was able to reserve 13236, thanks! It took awhile to find it because it is categorized as a Family Balcony.

Thinking of booking a balcony cabin on Breakaway to Bermuda. I've narrowed it down between cabins # 9776 or 12842. Does anyone have any insight/experience with these two cabins? Thanks.

Now I am considering just going to NYC for my first cruise back
Me too.

Remember the days when we just showed up and got on the ship?
Me neither. 😪

Yes, I know a lot can change. I was just asking if anyone has heard anything. Mexico's protocols have been pretty consistent for the last year, unlike Europe, so I'm hopeful.

Hello all. I'm currently booked on a Norwegian cruise from Athens in October. The cruise is 100% vaccinated and had been advertised as mask-free. Well, that recently changed due to new restrictions in Europe. So...I'm thinking of sailing on Holland America to the Mexican Riviera in October instead.
HAL also advertises mask-free cruising. For anyone booked on a Mexico cruise, have they heard anything different, or can we expect to be mask-free? Thanks.

I just cancelled today for my August 29th Jade sailing…
😪 That's a shame. I'm still undecided on mine.

I wonder if this is an Athens thing and not an NCL thing?
It's a Europe thing. I'm willing to wear a mask while on land, but while aboard a 100% vaccinated ship? That's a deal-breaker for me. I'm due to sale out of Athens in October, but...well, we'll see.

Does anyone know what happens if you test positive?
You probably wouldn't be getting tested during the cruise unless you had symptoms. So, the details of the screwing is that you have covid. (Symptomatic covid is extremely rare among the vaccinated.)

For those who wish to cancel due to the mask requirement, would this apply (NCL's Peace of Mind page) as long as you are OK with credit and not cash refund?
I don't think the credit is 100%.

Masks are currently required on all Europe cruises due to local regulations.
