Ooh, I love the cheese plate, and to have it back in the cabin would be wonderful!

Wow Mike,
Every time I see this thread pop-up, I have to read about whats been happening. I love the story about how you both met, it made my morning happier :D

If you gave a little more info, maybe someone could help. Is it the L shaped balconys, that the balcony is longer? a extended balcony that is double deep, or a 9A superior balcony that is a aft wrap?
Im on the cruise right after yours.. you will be getting off when I get on Magic :D
9A's are now 9C's :D

Loved this comparison! I'm trying to figure out what we are going to do next year for our 10th Anniversary. Some of the suite perks sound fabulous and similar to our land vacations.
We got married at Sandals Negril, He wants to go back like we did on our 5th Anniversary, and stay in the swim up suite again ($15K - 14 days :eek:). I am trying to look for something a little more reasonable.
At Sandals, we had 2 butlers and a cell phone to contact them at anytime...sweet! We did not use them to unpack our luggage, but they would have if requested. We didn't have to be chair hogs, they did it for us everyday and our names were printed out on a "reserved" card :D I better quit thinking about it, as I am slowly talking myself into going again.

We are also booked on the 26 and I am battling with the excursions right now.

Judy, Check out zydecocruiser dot com. He and his wife did a B2B on the Inaugural cruise of the Magic, and I believe he mentions the names of the tours they did, and the tour guide companies.

Never mind, I found the answer on JH blog.
"Due to an urgent guest medical emergency making it necessary for the Carnival Conquest to return to Cozumel after the 5/13 departure in order to evacuated the guest to shore side medical care, the Sunday 5/15 arrival to Galveston is presently estimated to be delayed to docking approximately 10:00 a.m. Our thoughts are with the guest"

Where is the Conquest this morning??? I keep looking at the harbor and cruise cam, but she is no where in sight :(.

Slightly OT, but what advisor allowed you to carry that many hours as a freshman?
I clept out of so many classes as a freshman, I guess they decided that I could handle the heavy load. It was so hard, and I would NEVER recommend that anyone do that nor did I ever do it again.
-
I was 17 when I entered as a freshman, and took advanced classes all through high school; but nothing prepared me for college life or living in a dorm (mandatory). I carried 21 hours my first semester, and there was no way I could have caught up if I had gone on a weeks vacation during that semester.
I agree with the others, pick an earlier time to cruise or during one of the semester breaks.

Again, a wonderful review. Great photo's of Atlantis.

I love the butterflies on the wall, and the sculpture in the entrance, great pictures :)

Am I missing something, but I don't see any listed. Are there certain ships with them and without?
They are on the back corners of the ship, also known as 9C's, also known as premium vista balcony. I don't believe they are on the fantasy class.

I loved your last review, and I'm so glad to see your review of the Pride :D

Thanks and WOW what an amazing story and review. I have read a lot of reviews over the years, and yours is the best I've ever read. I can't wait until you post your next review.

Two more from the Dream, back at Canaveral:
Great color and photography!

That's at Poipu Beach, on the southern coast of Kauai. We docked at Nawiliwili and rented a car. And the water here was the best...with many of the colored fish backdropped by the white sand. Sadly my underwater camera broke at that very beach.
Thank you so much for the pictures of Kauai. I was raised on Oahu and we traveled to the other islands on vacation (my father was a private pilot). I have told my husband for years, that I don't ever want to go back. The last time I was there it was 1986, and I was so sad, so much of the island (Oahu) had been desecrated. Looking at these pictures have changed my mind.... Thanks for letting me see that beauty still exists in the Hawaiian islands.

Dangit, cannot get the pic to insert. SO sorry. Pick one from my album below??
Thank you for posting (the link) for these pictures.

Host Anne - Thank you so much for the information, we are fedex-ing ourselves a care package with some spices and other necessities, and just found out a roll of aluminum foil had been included in the box :-)
nanauk ~ CONGRATS! You will absolutely love staying in a villa on St. John. Starfish, while the most expensive, has the best overall selections. Throw a box of aluminum foil in your luggage. It was the one thing we really needed and was outrageously priced there. :) On the subject of the Season Pass, it is for Trunk Bay only as it's the only place that has a fee in the park....it's $4 per day for the entrance fee ($8 per couple). The annual pass is $15 for the family. So you only have to visit Trunk twice on your visit to pay for the annual pass. I even buy the annual pass if we aren't going to use it more than one day. I look at it as a small donation for the wonderful national park we get to enjoy. I want to see it last forever. We mostly hung out on the east end of the island on our last stay. We love Shipwreck's Landing and all the restaurants out east. Nearly all are extremely casual. Shorts and t-shirts are the norm. There are only a handful of restaurants where you'd want to "dress up" and even at that it might mean a sundress for woman and a tommy bahama type shirt for the guys. We are like Augie. Eat most meals in the villa; dined out twice, I think. I'm so jealous! Hope you and Augie have a great time!

We're hiking the Lind Point trail, so we need an option in Cruz Bay for groceries. Someone on another thread suggested the best spot to get some beer, soda, and snacks was Captain's Corner?
Augie suggested Deli Grotto on another thread as a good place to grab a couple of sandwiches to go.
Thanks, all info is greatly appreciated

We are renting a jeep in St John, so will be able to go anywhere on the island. The website you included is great, and will be very useful for us. :D
If you'll be eating in Cruz Bay I'd wander around and check out the menus and specials at The Banana Deck, Spyglass, High Tide, and La Tapa.If you're going over to the Coral Bay area for dinner, I like Shipwreck Landing, Island Blues, and Aqua Bistro. If you want a good burger and a real St. John traditional experience, Skinny legs in Coral Bay is the way to go.
You'll be on island towards the end of slow season. The positives in that are less crowded roads, beaches, shops, and restaurants. The downside is that some places close for some or all of the slow season. Here's a web site that usually does a very good job of keeping track of who's closing, and when (and you'll want to visit the store that sponsors the site anyway): http://stjohnspice.com/stjohnrestaurants.htm
Have fun!

Thanks for the information Augie! We love all types of food, but my husband LOVES crab the most.

First time to the USVI
I couldnt get the cabins I wanted on the cruise this year so we decided to do a land vacation (4 adults). We are staying in a Villa (Infinity) in St John from 10/29/10 - 11/6/10. What are your favorite places to eat, and what places are not to be missed?
What is a $12 season pass at Trunk Bay, does it get you to all of the park trails/beaches? I was thinking about purchasing the yearly pass for $80 through the parks when we arrive, but $12 is a lot less :).
What is the best place to purchase liquor, groceries?
We have talked about renting a power boat, any suggestions?
I will post pictures and reviews to this board, either while we are there or when we return.
