I have if I bought a drink. We didn't pay anything as STAR passengers on Allure in PE
We always have the drink package. Maybe that makes a difference?

You believe that FL law has jurisdiction on the cruise after it has left FL? how? (not trying to be rude, I am legitimately curious as to your opinion.)
There are a lot of things the cruise lines do as soon as they hit international waters (duty free, gambling, etc) Why is this different?
We are vaccinated and really don’t want to wear a mask onboard. I believe the State of Florida has a lot of control over her Ports. I’m sure they are in conversations with the Cruise Industry. Anything we opine here, is merely speculation. I would think the two working together will work this out.

Embarkation is in the State.
While in port, the ship is operating in the State, that's why the casino is closed and you have to pay taxes on drinks even with the beverage package.
I don’t recall paying any taxes on a drink in port prior to castaway (Florida).

I think this is like Royal's dream come true: how to get the Pinnacles out of the Concierge/Suite lounges.
Without the CK on Allure, Oasis, etc. there is very little to offer me to sail on those big ships and pay those big prices.
I believe the newer big ships are geared to families and kids.

"...beverage vouchers to be used at any bar, at any time or in the Diamond Lounge during the nightly Happy Hour"
This means the unlimited drinks in the Diamond Lounge at happy hours are ending, and they won't return.
It will only be disappointing to those that can consume 4/5/6 drinks in the old HH. Seems like a lot of drinks in a short period of time?

This is not a difference of opinion. The law is very clear.

Section 18.
What, we are no longer allowed to have a different opinion?

I kind of feel bad now. I posted on "Absolutely Disgusted,,," thread that I had a headache, and it got closed to further replies. Geesh, just trying to be funny????
That thread lasted a lot longer than I thought. I’m guessing it was the weekend.

I'll combine a few recent discussions from this thread into talking about our dinner last night. DD26 lives about 15 minutes away from us (in Ohio) with her BF. Her BF is a chef. They come to our house for dinner fairly frequently and he often cooks. He claims that he really likes doing it, but I think he just doesn't want to say no to his girlfriend's mother. My part in the whole situation is to make sure that his beer doesn't get empty.
Last night, they invited us to their apartment for dinner. He made duck using his sous vide cooker and then seared, topped with a blueberry compote. For a vegetable, he sautéed mushrooms and bacon and put them in a béchamel sauce with asiago cheese. The starch was a rustic garlic mashed potatoes. DD23 was with us and doesn't like duck, so he made her some shrimp with a vodka lobster sauce. It might have been better than the duck. Amazing meal. Still recovering from the food coma. Unfortunately, I did not take any pictures.
Love Duck. Sounds awesome. Thanks for sharing. Might put our SousVide to work.

Onboard, we must adhere to new healthy sail protocols and capacity limits in most venues. So, access to Suite and Concierge lounges will only be limited to members staying in Suites. Your Loyalty Ambassador will share more detailed information with you onboard.
I love Royal.

But don’t those return to a Florida port?

This opt in/opt out procedure is what some of the employers in Chicago are asking of their employees so it is a voluntary option. You can be vaccinated and opt out because you don't want to share medical information with a company. You would just then have to follow their specific COVID protocols. If you opt in, voluntarily, you get to not wear a mask and not get tested. Simple. Effective. It's what should be done and probably will be done.
Florida is not Chicago.

The law says "may not require...to gain access".
No one is being denied access based on vax status. You can still use your vax status to avoid 'protocols' if you choose to do so.
I hope you are right. We are vaccinated and would prefer no mask required. We are now going out and to dinner and on rides with people unvaccinated. No mask.

The other perspective here is jurisdiction. FL has argued that they have jurisdiction on controlling who can get on the ship based on vax status. Fair enough, I know some argue against this but there is at least some logic to this argument.
They most certainly have no jurisdiction as to what a cruise line asks for, and what services they provide or deny while onboard as soon as that ship is 12 miles out at sea.
People can argue letter of law, intent of the law all they want. Once you have left FL, there is nothing that law can do.
Obviously, this is your opinion. I respect that. I just disagree.

Regardless, the law does not make it illegal to ask for proof, and does not make it illegal for proof to be shown. It is illegal to REQUIRE proof. That is all.
If the FL legislature would like to change the language of the law to cover more, that is their right.
We got to agree to that we have different opinions. Peace

Yea I thought I answered and it was gone. Didn’t realize their were two threads.

I don’t think you have a question that applies to us.
We are vaccinated and would prefer that we shouldn’t be required to wear a mask. If required, at this time not sure what we would do. Our first cruise is not until October so lots of things could change before that time. We’re in Florida. We quit wearing our masks shortly after we both were vaccinated in January/February.

I don't know that I agree with that...those without the vaccine are not being denied service, but the people who voluntarily offer it are getting additional services.
Those who book a concierge room are voluntarily giving the cruise line something (money) and getting additional services in return, access to areas of the ship that others don't have access to (lounges, etc). Same here, if you voluntarily give them proof of vaccine (which IS LEGAL TO DO) then you get something in return.
I’m with John @John&LaLa on this. It’s very clear what the intent of the law is for. Anything to do with showing some proof goes against the law.

Ok, so local news this morning stated that RCCL will not require proof of vaccination sailing out of Florida and Texas due to Governors executive orders. 5000.00 fine every time if they ask for proof
I don’t believe RCL has said this. This is strictly from media and those against our Governor.
This is my opinion, Royal is a family oriented cruise line and they couldn’t meet the 95% with kids included in the count. Mr Fain more or less said this in his last update.

Maybe it’s because we always prepay for the Drink Package. I swear, we have NEVER paid taxes on a drink while docked in a US Port. How is that being argumentative if it’s a fact. I agree regarding the Casino and I didn’t counter that fact you posted.
Well, those Gilzillion threads must be wrong as it relates to the Drink Package.
