We will be in an upcoming cruise on the Eurodam. I am a relatively accomplished linguist (degree and all!) and enjoy interacting in foreign languages. I have experience on NCl and Carnival that most service personnel are Filipino or Indonesian. What nationalities are the most popular in Holland America or more specifically in Eurodam? Is the nationalities different for the cabin crew vs the restaurant crew?

My fiance really likes me in showy swim briefs. She says "Wear the briefs, wear them!" I however, rarely have the cajones to wear them in public. Public beach, maybe. On a cruise ship where I have to see the people the rest of the week, probably not. Unless many others are doing it first.

Thank you. Your are right. She wears them for both of us. She feels good and pretty, and she likes that I obviously love how she looks. I truly was concerned that she would be uncomfortable if people are strongly against her style choice, or worse if someone makes a scene. I'm concerned because she is very caring about other people's feelings and wouldn't want to make anyone feel too uncomfortable. Thank you for the comments.

She really enjoys wearing them. It would always be her preference in general. She looks good and feels good in one.

Wow. I didn't expect such a response. We are cruising Dec 27 out of Fort Lauderdale on Eurodam. Based on the responses here, a lot of people are in favor of it and a few are against it. That being said, she will be in her thong. But to appease those of you who are not so in favor, we purchased three bathing suits that are very cheeky, but not quite an outright thong. I assure those if you concerned about certain people shouldn't be wearing thongs, she does not fit that category. It's a an image you won't want to forget. 😉

Where were you sailing? I assume it makes a difference. Out off Miami will have not thongs than out of Baltimore probably.

Nope. We have never crossed on Holland america. We are usually ncl our carnival, 2 times on each. On those, thongs were very common.

My fiance and I will be cruising on Holland America Eurodam over the holidays. She really likes to wear thong bikinis and especially one piece thong bathing suits. She looks good in them, and I love seeing her. She's in good shape, but not skinny either, average with a little extra. 😀 Good curves. I'm not wondering if it's ok or not for her to wear thongs on HAL. I'm more wondering: How common is it on HAL? How do all of you other HAL guests honestly feel about it? Do people hate it? Love it?
