  1. I did the only research possible. I checked and reported the correct (as of yesterday) non-cruise days for the Joy. Beyond that, unless my brother works in the C suite at NCL corporate, it is simply not possible for us to research such sensitive insider information. I will, however, read any articles posted (which I did, and found zero reports of 24 cabins taking over Joy OL space.) Asking folks to prove wild rumors is simply intended to challenge them to check the facts before spreading them. Occasionally, a poster does come back with some meaningful evidence. Most times, like this one, it just illustrates the absurdity of some wild rumors.
  2. I find this report highly suspect. No officer in their right mind would share this type of information over the table at a dinner with officers.
  3. Those articles are five months old and mention nothing about converting OL space to cabins. Also, the NCL website only shows the Joy not cruising from Jan 22 to Feb 12. You appear to be spreading inaccurate rumors.
  4. 🤣I'm sure that in your years in the defense industry, you learned all about the differences between "real" cops and rent-a-cops. (hint for others: the "real" cops are the ones who carry guns)
  5. Civilized? 🤣 What was going on in the buffet?
  6. Very nice! I've upgraded from insides twice for around $100 pp, but both of those were repricings after final payment. I have a $105 bid on a balcony upgrade on my next cruise, so we'll see what happens. Either way, I'll be cruising. 😎
  7. Of course it is. I'm sure it is also an expectation shared by NCL and their fine crews. You speak of trends. I see no evidence of one. This is the first report I can remember of a room not being spotless at the beginning of the cruise. Stuff happens.
  8. Uber, Lyft or a Cab. Why do you want a "car service?"
  9. That's all interesting. Thanks for sharing it. I'm from a world where it's enough for people to make an honest effort to be kind and respectful to others without having to learn all about different cultures. If I make an honest mistake, I'm not going to apologize for being less than perfect. I only answer to my Lord and the guy in the mirror for my intentions. If anybody has an issue with that, that's on them. 😎 All that said, I had a lot of fun with those guys and I have reason to believe that they had a lot of fun with me and DW. I really hope to cruise with them again.
  10. I have no problem with their events, until they take over 2/3 of the best public area on the ship. That is NOT acceptable.
  11. Absolutely! I have this itinerary booked in the future and may very well send stuff to NCL telling them how bad this incident sucked. It is actually shocking that they have pulled such a stupid move. Maybe the financial pressure is really that bad, but I suspect it is one high level manager or a single department that is on the bubble, not the entire corporation. Let's not let them off the hook.
  12. Thanks for that info. This is certainly something different than the routine art auction. Hopefully it will be miserable failure for the bottom line (it very well may be) and they'll never do something stupid like this again.
  13. LOL. I'm certain that you meant to post this in the NCL Prima thread sister. 😁 That thread is dealing with issues of a whole lot more importance to cruisers than this one. 😎
  14. Maybe they'll sell them all by day two! (yes, that was a joke)
  15. No problem. I don't even charge a fee. 😁
  16. I like your thinking. Would I have to put on pants and shoes to pull that off?🤣 Thanks. While you still have the bar, you can't access the best viewing seats in the OL. This is really a dumb move by NCL.
  17. While I'm not on the side of the fence that avoids bond funds (primarily because they can't force holding to maturity and/or control duration), as I mentioned, I prefer individual treasuries (in my case bought at auction and held to maturity in a ten year ladder).
  18. Abolutely! Thanks for reminding me. While often used to describe the entire market, it certainly applies to this discussion about "buying low."
  19. Right back at you. Popular doesn't equal smart. To quote Bogle "Nobody knows nothing." That includes when a stock is "low" or "high." Nobody knows more than the rest of the market (other than insiders, and they risk going to jail.) I offer my wisdom only for the benefit of the casual readers/investors who might start to think that buying more than 100 shares of NCL stock is "smart." Just buy the 100 shares that pays a $100 tax free dividend on every cruise and enjoy your cruise.😎 That's what this thread is all about!
