  1. Thanks for working this. All those high priced folks need to earn their pay. I don't care how fancy the experience is. If the food sucks, the restaurant sucks. Nuff said.
  2. You just made me do some math. My last cruise ended 13 days ago. My next one starts in two months minus one day. Does that make me the wiener?? disclaimer: darned auto correct. 🤣🐀
  3. Yes, but we will cruise together some day my friend. I've foreseen it.... (insert some Star Wars thing)🤣
  4. Killing what now? I experienced my last cruise less than two weeks ago. Does that count?
  5. How do you know this without that thorough interrogation? Are you sure that all first time cruisers know what a "modern muster drill" is?
  6. Who is asking these numerous questions? NCL's policy is quite clear, including that they are certainly allowed at Cagney's. If you booked Cagney's, then you accepted the policy. Why are you now complaining about it? I'm just not believing this. Many others? 🤣 I'm sure if I was in that line after a few hours at the bar, and somebody was getting worked up about such a silly thing, I would likely go along with the crowd. "Dang right I skipped that muster thing, it's a free world you know!" You sure don't sound easy to please. And yes, I am assuming several things here, as are other posters. It's pretty transparent.
  7. I didn't know that. That said, we would likely need a more specific definition of "flip flops." Would this $70 Skecher sandal be considered a non-compliant "flip flop?"
  8. It's the Bermuda Triangle. Stuff disappears all the time.
  9. Well, here's the problem with that. This would be set up and maintained by NCL's IT team. It would only be a matter of time until system failure and a ship with 4000 passengers being unable to order their first free drinks. Would full scale mutiny be far behind? (yes, I realize that passengers can't "mutiny," but I didn't want to use more violent sounding words)
  10. Actually, they used to have both hash browns and country potatoes. They haven't replaced our beloved hash browns with anything. Yes. I'm complaining about that. Probably my biggest complaint about NCL for a long time. Yes. Life is good and I can't wait for my next NCL cruise, hash browns or not.😎
  11. Yep. I believe that many new cruisers don't even know what a muster drill/station is. They get on the ship. Somebody tells them to go to the location on their room key. They go there and it gets scanned. Then, it's off to the bar/restaurant/etc. Do they know that they just fulfilled a critical muster drill requirement? I don't think so.🤣
  12. Was this one of the "very bad?" Why do you care what others are wearing, especially when they are in full compliance with the NCL dress code for Cagney's? Help me out here. Were these strangers? Did you just sit down next to them and interrogate them about their compliance with the Muster drills? If somebody did that to me, I would likely pull their chain and get on a soap box about how my time is far too valuable to herd to an assigned muster station. disclaimer: I always fully comply with the muster drill, even the old one where you had to crowd under a life boat for half an hour while somebody is preaching an important message that you can't hear. I haven't heard about this bad service. We just got off a 16 day NCL cruise and the service was fantastic. Only glitch was one breakfast in the MDR when our food sat too long before the waiter brought it to us (I had line of sight). When the waiter asked how everything was, I (kindly) told him that my food was a bit cold because it sat too long. He was genuinely apologetic, and I think he felt bad. That was the only "bad," not the cold food but that my honest feedback was "bad" for him. Stuff happens everywhere and life is short. Hopefully you'll find some enjoyment on your next (non-NCL) cruise.
  13. After a few days of eating constantly, I really don't care what's for dinner. If what the MDR serves me is crap, I'll just grab something at the local. No worries. Breakfast is only a few hours away...
  14. Our iPhones will normally send and receive text messages while attached to the ship's wifi but not using internet plan minutes. Many here have reported the same. That said, every cruise seems to have times when NCL's wifi breaks down and won't do anything for a while.
  15. Sure they would. They would give a 5% discount and then raise fares by 5.263157894736842%.
  16. Really? Just about anybody who went to college took economics 101. You're not the only educated person on this forum.
  17. Good for you. Bogleheads is on the supply side. The rest is up to you. 😎
  18. No. The bottom of one side and the middle of the other side will have the same each evening. The appetizers and the rotating entrees will be different.
  19. Probably best to just bring your guitar on board.🤣
  20. I don't want to listen to either of those ever.
  21. What if your cabin-mate also owns 100 shares of NCLH?
  22. Some don't need to be forced. The last thing they want to do is to sit on their cabin's balcony and miss the fun of being on the ship.
  23. We did it once. It was free for two of us. It was worth about that. You may see more wildlife on the bus....
  24. If a good friend was paying half the cost of my cabin, I will gladly share half of my itchy-and-scratchy bucks with them. If I don't like them that much, I'm not sailing with them. In fact, if my name is first on the reservation and we take a Shorex together, I'm going to pay them $25 to offset my discount.
