  1. Back when I was a Latitudes "nobody," I would arrive early so as to be awarded one of those coveted "Group 1" paddles. I think it worked every time.
  2. It is still not clear to me if the Shorex was NCL sponsored/sold or a totally independent third party.
  3. Thanks for posting this. I've been watching for the AK itineraries.
  4. Thanks for those other websites. I've book marked them all.
  5. Do you remember which hotel you used?
  6. Thanks for all of the great responses. The only website I could find to do this was dayuse.com. Are there other sites for this? The particular hotel I booked doesn't allow direct day use booking through their website.
  7. It varies by hotel, but the one I booked gives me the room from 9am to 5pm, which is perfect.
  8. 1) Breakaway plus (except Escape) 2) Jewel class 3) everything else
  9. I have an upcoming cruise when we'll disembark at Seattle and fly out of SeaTac at 7:00 PM. We've seen all we need to see in Seattle, so are looking at just heading to the airport and grabbing a daytime hotel room. We've never done this before. I found dayuse.com and made a reservation for $99 at a DoubleTree by SeaTac. Has anybody else done this and have any lessons learned to share? Thanks.
  10. I don't understand why having an original prescription bottle would have any meaning. I could take one of my empty bottles and put anything I wanted inside.
  11. The "good" chair hogs usually leave something considered a personal item such a paperback book, etc.
  12. Not really. It's just good business. I believe that insurance companies do the same type of reciprocal sharing. Besides, it's in the best interest of all cruise companies if the trouble makers are prevented from cruising. The highly publicized brawls hurt the entire industry.
  13. If they cruise lines shared back and forth, Carnival would very much benefit from sharing this info with NCL (with NCL sharing equivalent info in return).
  14. I've been on ships where that is very good and, more recently, very bad. That's a shame, because I really like it when it's good.
  15. Stick with me friend. I'll have you singing along and having a grand old time.😎
  16. People pay thousands to be pampered by "their" butler in the Haven. Why on earth would you leave a penny? We don't have this problem in steerage.
  17. I tried Moderno years ago and found the same thing. I created a case after the cruise an got some OBC for my next cruise. After reading many helpful post here, I learned that you have to tell the waiters you need medium rare. They then bring that to you if their current "stick" is full of the usual charcoal.
  18. I thought that the butler was the best part of the Haven. Why did you tip him at all?
  19. Good advice. That said, I did get their sampler and nothing really appealed. Maybe I'm just not a BBQ aficionado. That's okay. It was worth the (free) price of admission, but I'll not return.
  20. You can engage others as much or as little as you wish. Nobody cares. Perhaps have a few cocktails prior and the group "fun" might have more appeal. Or not. Most interaction is between the entertaining chef and the people at the table.
  21. Easy. Teppanyaki. I love the shrimp and scallops hot off the grill (or whatever that thing is called). I also like the show. It's the same every time, so if you're so inclined you can memorize the lyrics to "can't help falling in love with you" (Elvis) before you go. Those are good lyrics to donate a few memory cells to anyways.😎 The rice is good, but I would like it better with about twice as much garlic butter.
  22. Well that's just plain silly. Cruise ship lounge chairs aren't really that comfortable, and certainly aren't worth fighting for. Just don't hog my chair at the bar!!
