Well, you likely should have figured out from my response that I have no frickin' idea, because I was recommending a deck viewing.  Your question was clear.  I just didn't have a clear answer, so I threw out some bonus advice.  Probably the first time that has ever happened on this here internet....  😝

"frickin'"? As a ChiefMate, you should know that the proper sea term is "friggin'". You know, as in "friggin' in the riggin'". (O.k., I'll shut up now and drink my beer...).

Well this sounds crappier all the time.  We'll reach platinum soon, and for some crazy reason I was envisioning seeing the engine room (maybe it's because a buddy saw that on a Princess tour).  If it's just laundry and kitchen, I'll likely politely decline the whole thing.  DW will probably "force" me to do it once, which I'll do just to keep her happy and confirm that it is a goof.  Happy wife, happy life. 😎

When you reach Platinum, NCL should let you drive the shio!

    Complimentary Continental

Thanks. I could've sworn I saw that the American breakfast was complimentary. I probably saw wrong. Makes more sense that just the Continental breakfast would be complimentary. I guess if I want to stay in my stateroom and eat breakfast in my "skivvies", I'll have to settle for Frosted Flakes. 😂

Oh be careful with that! I ordered a bottle of Veuve through Royal Gifts, never got a notice. Tried again to order through a rep, never got a notice - then POOF! I got an invoice last week showing that I have 2 bottles showing up on day 1. 😜  HAHA Fun sail away for us.

Yes, we can still bring on bottles. I saw that there is a wine shop close to the pier. Like you I am planning on bringing a few bottles on board.

Bring one aboard for me too please. (I need an adult beverage to enjoy on my balcony). <- JK, lol. (about the first half of the sentence).

So far, the Royal Caribbean and Celebrity sailings have been around 40% capacity, if that is any indication.

Yaay, more chairs...less chair hogs. I might actually be able to find an open lounger by the main pool on my upcoming Adventure of the Seas cruise.

Your original post mentioned "test cruises". Other cruise lines have been conducting test cruises for the CDC so they can sail with less than 95% vaccinated passengers. Just mentioning "test cruises" is ALL ABOUT VACCINATIONS. That is what test cruises are for......so the cruise lines can test protocols for having unlimited amount of un-vaccinated passengers on board.

How do they know what an advanced flow rider looks like?

Why not get inline...okay they give you the board and then you go at it.........then ut oh...........guess I'm not advanced. Oh well I still got my ride on the flow rider.

Think it's silly they are not giving everyone a shot at it who wants to try it.

After enough DoD's, I magically turn into an advanced flow rider. Even advanced surfers wipe out.

With O.J. as one of the stars, the line under the movie title "Capricorn One" is prophetic; "The mission was a sham The murders were real". (I just noticed that. Creepy...).

I am sailing (*fingers crossed*) on the Celebrity Equinox on July 25. It will be the ship's first post-COVID cruise. It will also be my first solo cruise and my first Celebrity cruise, after having sailed exclusively on NCL. I am hoping to do a really thorough review, taking photos, videos, and notes daily. Not sure how much I will be able to post live from the ship, but will certainly post as much as I can when I return. I am particularly going to try to pay attention and make note of the differences between NCL and Celebrity, as my husband I have another Celebrity sailing booked in January.

What kinds of things do you want me to take note of and report back on? How do you prefer I report back?

    Hi Jaime,

First off, congratulations on your nuptials! I'm in a similar situation as you (except I'm not married - anymore) in that I will be embarking (ship pun fully intended) on my 1st solo cruise as well, in 17 days on the Adventure of the Seas (R/T out of Nassau, Bahamas). While RCI is not NCL, I do have multiple NCL cruises booked (all as a solo). I'm fairly recently retired and cruising is my RAOC (Retirement Activity of Choice). I also have numerous other RCI cruises booked as well as CCL. But my very next cruise after Adventure of the Seas is the Celebrity Edge (in a Single Infinite Veranda stateroom) R/T out of Port Everglades (7-day W. Caribbean) on Oct 2nd. Also 1st time cruising with Celebrity.

I too, am a little apprehensive about the dress code on Celebrity. I'm hoping it won't be too "fancy pants". I'm joking that I'm going to have to "step up my fashion game" before my Edge cruise, so like you, I'll probably be buying a few new clothes (but no suit for this guy).

So, when you're on Equinox, I'll definitely be interested in the Celebrity "dress code". Also, as some have already mentioned; the dining, entertainment, venues as well as the accommodations (stateroom) and service (especially towards solo cruisers). Thanks in advance!

Yes, I believe I understand your reason for concern.  My question specifically is how is this any different then Celebrity denying anyone that would put the 95% threshold out of wack.  If that was an issue with the state, surely they would have never let them even try with the Edge.

So basically I am saying the only difference in policy is a number, 95 versus 100.  If that is the case, the number does not matter, what matters is if the policy was allowed by Florida, which it already has been.

Well said. Btw, I like your new avatar. 😉

I'd love to know how dressed up the guests are in the evenings: for dinner, shows, bars. We sailed on Celebrity a little over 10 years ago and found it too formal for us. We moved over to NCL for the more casual atmosphere, which suits us for vacations. Thanks!

Ditto.  And ditto on the thanks!
