    Was there a week ago.

You need to decide if you want 1 or 3 cruises maybe 1 or 2 with an inside for the costs involved. The perks and benefits are based on your likes wants need and desires but mostly your wallet.

Use a TA!!!! Never call them, always use the TA for this line otherwise you could be overcharged, cancelled, even after booking yacht club they could bump you out into a regular cabin for no reduction in fare which means you would have been better not booking YC.

agree with you wholehartedly.  Use a TA, and let them do the heavy lifting.

Looking to book a future cruise. We usually choose a balcony (fantastica), but thinking of trying Yacht club this time, but it would have to be an inside. Trying to decide if it's worth the added cost.

    only you can determine worth

Not to hijack the thread on a tangent, but I am having my first MSC cruise this June. I am Silver on NCL, and will be gold later this summer. Does anyone know if can I match now, then match again after my NCL cruise?

They will match once.  I tried a few different matches before I got the highest.  And, if you don't sail with them for 3 years, you start at zero.  No match second go around.  So sail at least a 3 nighter ever 3 years.

Our last four MSC cruises have all been in Yacht Club and we are sold on the product. Last week challenged that, when I noticed a super, last minute deal, offered by a Travel Agent. It was priced much less than MSC were listing, so I acted fast! The deal was for balcony at the same cost of inside so we went for that.

It was priced so well -We couldn’t believe our luck!

Then, reality dawned on us- we would not be sailing in Yacht Club! 😅 “Wot? No Butler?!” 😂

Further to this, I looked at what a guarantee Bella balcony may look like and it showed those enclosed metal ones! This prompted me to fill in all our details and ‘check in’ as we were only 7 days away! Immediately, our cabin number showed on my booking, and to my amazement and delight, it was an Aurora Balcony located midship- one of the best!

We have been on Virtuosa three times and this will be the fourth, but the first time not in Yacht club! We had a balcony cabin on one of Grandiosa’s first sailings, but that was before we experienced the joys of yacht club and we haven’t looked back….until now! Everyone said, “once you’ve been in yacht club there’s no going back!” Well, let’s see about that!

Follow along if you like, as I compare the same ship at two different levels. We are leaving from Southampton on Friday, and stopping at Hamburg, Bruges, Rotterdam and Le Havre.

yeah, YC is more addictive than anything...... We've done Bella, and then tried YC.  Been in YC ever since, and sailed in a regular balcony on Celebrity, but had YC Fomo there.

  5. I have not been on Divina, but cruised MSC quite a few times in the Carib.  There are a smattering of tuxes, not nearly as many as when we started cruising, but men still wear them.  You will get a melange of dress on formal nights.... If you like your tux, wear it proudly.  But you don't "need" one,

No argument there, but it still should be MSC's aspiration for YC.

    • Do I expect 'anytime you want it caviar'?
      • No. Should it be offered once in 7 days - yes.
    • Do I expect a small boat (<1000 passenger) experience?
      • No, but you should feel like the staff in the YC know you and remember what you like. Once a day, a drink you have previously said was 'great' should show up without asking.
    • Should every staff member know your name?
      • No, but your 'butler' absolutely should.
    • Do I expect the 'butler' to serve a 5 course meal to you in your cabin?
      • No, but your 'butler' should fulfill all the jobs that MSC has designated such as unpacking, pressing, bringing drinks...without your asking.

I really think that there is an opportunity for MSC here. Our MSC trip with 2 adults and 2 kids in a YC Duplex Suite costs the same as a Seabourn entry level room for 2 adults.

It sounds like they are having an HR issue. Hopefully, this will improve with time. MSC is definitely behind on technology and experience though. I also worry about some logistical failures that L1211 mentions. These really shouldn't be happening at this point. They know exactly how many people will be on each sailing. They should be able to statistically predict how much Chardonnay and limes they need to have in the YC.

    Good. More room for me.

I had to do elder care for quite a while and now that i'm cruising again i was disappointed to find out Carnival killed the tiny hidden away free fish and chips station on the Conquest class ships and put in a pay place. Norwegian and their O'sheehans/The Local pub is my choice. Costa,MSC,Carnival, NCL i've cruised but got the the other non luxury lines already booked or in the crosshairs.

NCL "diner" is the best.  Nothing beats fries and a cheese dog at O'Shaughnesseys

You should have just said that. Cause if you are Bella and go to the MDR, they hand you a menu.

That explains much. I was doing a real ***** on my last cruise. Now i'm thinking kids or drunks from YC were riding the elevators for 15-30 minutes at a time hogging the darn things.

It's only certain ones.  The two most forward on the ship I believe.  You can see the little RFID sensor in the hallway.  If you tap your card, the elevator that comes will say priority. You also can use the card once inside.  It is kinda funny, because others will wonder why their floor got passed when a YC passenger has over ridden the elevator.

But your no menu answer was not correct. Should have been "same menu."

there is no such thing as a bella menu.  Nor Fantastica.  There is the MDR menu which is what is included on Bella and Fantastica.  Some ships have a DR for Aurea, the YC ships have a DR for their guests.  There is no bella dining room.
