I also purchased our 6 test package and decided since I'm a tad bit more tech savvy than my DH, I'll take mine first and afterwards open his new account and assist him with his test.  Hopefully all goes well, but things may change by time we are required to use them in November. Should have waited to purchase but I was afraid they would run out or be delayed. I had no idea of shelf life problem or extension.

Do a test drive, I did and glad I did.  Don’t skimp on the nostrils twirling, or adding drops to the test,  also when you insert the swap into fluid give it a few extra twirls.   My initial test failed came back invalid.  Not sure why but. It can happen.  Got a credit from supplier but that was not the point, was glad I had a back up. The 2nd test was fine.  I’ve order more ahead of my upcoming cruise. Some good videos out there too, of the whole process.  Have a look it helps.

    Enjoy your cruise.

Maybe whoever administered the vaccine didn't enter that information, but it's definitely supported by the app. Also, based on the guidance I got from RC, lot numbers aren't needed, if you're using electronic POV, only name, DOB, and vaccine dates/type.

the  pdf on docket app, has no lot info but the main screen does. However the aim screen does not have name or DOB, crazy .

Good , I have so much stuff printed just in case.

how do we order the e-meds kit from royal

do we have to call royal??or what

You can order from Optum directly. Quick and Easy, same Website/ company  Royal has partnered with, Order Sat , arrived Tue over Labor Day weekend too.

No I plan to do a test run myself and order more.  Our expire Jan 2022 it was Oct before our Oct cruise but since extended) so don't order too many so far ahead  of cruise.

  4. I ordered a 2 pack this morning from Optum.  They can be used by 2 individuals, I confirmed this by calling directly.   They  have already been shipped.

I might go ahead and try one ahead of my Oct cruise to Alleviate concerns and the process, then re order.

    Seems straight forward enough..

    This video really helped too.

My pack of 6 came in 6 boxes so when you open the box you are only opening one test kit.

Hi, is this the one we should order,  thinking of doing this as my back up for Oct cruise if we cannot get tested locally given the high volume and staff shortage .  This new 2 day rule makes it challenging when flying in day before etc and real life aka working. 😌

    Appreciate the help

Hi, So you order 6 but can anyone  use the individual tests that’s traveling or no it’s just you, and linked to you only.   Recently we travelled to UK and the tests in the UK itself we’re per individual, it got messy as I had ordered 2 and ended up missing one. Thankfully sorted.

I received this email today for a cruise on the 13th. Less than 2 weeks away.

C.D.C. Change in COVID-19 Testing Requirement

The U.S. CDC has revised their pre-cruise COVID-19 testing requirement for all cruises departing U.S. ports from September 13th, 2021.

Vaccinated guests must present a negative PCR or antigen test result taken no more than 2 days prior to sailing in order to board. (Previously, it was 3 days.) Check out our new, easy, and convenient at-home test below.

Unvaccinated children ages 2 to 11 must present a negative PCR test result taken no more than 3 days prior to sailing in order to board. (Antigen tests are no longer accepted.) There continues to be no testing
required for guests under age 2.

Your test result must be issued by an accredited test provider and show a laboratory negative result that can be printed out or shown on your phone. Test cost continues to be the guest's responsibility. Learn about accepted tests at RoyalCaribbean.com/Test.

Starting Wednesday, September 8th, fully vaccinated guests can order at-home test kits, shipped right to your door (anywhere in the U.S.) in two business days or less. Complete your pre-cruise test at home, with live video supervision by a Certified Guide. Get your results in 15 minutes.
    Visit RoyalCaribbean.com/HomeTestKit.

The remainder of our health and safety protocols remain unchanged.
Visit RoyalCaribbean.com/Health for all of our health
    protocols & additional details.

If you have questions about these protocols or have any concerns about sailing as a result of them, please contact us at 954-628-9290 or 1 (800) 256-6649. We’re here to answer your questions or work with you on additional options as we get you ready for your vacation.

Thank you for sharing.  Cruising in Oct and would think Royal would email pending passengers if their  policy changed.  3 vs 2 days makes it tougher for those of us who work full time and fly in day before cruise.

  8. Sorting out this testing can be stressful. There is also a notional shortage right now for Antigen tests at the moment so some places only doing PCR which  take longer.  We just returned from Europe and that was the case for us this week. We have an upcoming cruise in Oct so staying tuned… and hoping we can just do the Antigen.

Safe travels everyone, so great to be talking about cruising again. 🤪

I understand they may not want to spend the money now....... but also feel like if they think they will continue to be a viable business going forward they should be using this time to perform the upgrades so they have something to "sell" going forward when this all clears up.......

They may also have staffing issues at the docks as a large portion of Europe is on lockdown.  Just a thought.

  10. $39 per person for our Anthem cruise 3/15,  figured it’s worth a shot.  I preferred it when it was just an island where everyone could chill for free without the added pressure of what am I missing etc.  Don’t care for the Water park, ...We shall see.

We all have champagne taste but  beer budgets so we can travel more , right ,😋

    Thanks for the review.

  11. Fellow crusiers. This is very helpful, wish I had it when booking.  Whats crazy about this ship is even some JS cabins have obstructions, they're all booked when I ws able to pull the trigger away.  Snagged a great deal on deck 7 for my March cruise and think were ok. 7658...    but boy are they snug...with so little storage space.  Maybe I will be surprised and after all it's a cruise so all good.

October 2016,  I wanted to try it but someone told me its not part of the package. Could have been a pax or crew don't remember, I just remember being bummed for a second about it then went to a regular bar.

    Good for you !!!

Coming in 2021, the "self service"  laundry facilities everyone keeps asking about.

RCCL catch will be,  you  now wash & fold   (+  iron if needed)   your own towels and sheets. 🙂

     Could not resist...

PS:  Dont flame me,  Im still loyal to Royal.

Hi. Do  a quick search in google, the lists are endless.  Print the ones the appeal to your taste buds.  My  simple go to is cranberry and ginger or OJ and ginger ale,  not exciting I know but alerts the taste buds.

    Have fun.

Now in my opinion this is exactly why you need a human bartender.  About to go on my first cruise in March with a Bionic bar but will not be participating.   Whilst its a gimmick some folks like to try and maybe like,  we prefer the personal approach.  I am not just not having a martini or cordial made and served in plastic cup,  nor do I intended to pay a robot 18%...gratutity.

Good bartenders do very well from ourselves and we will continue to appreciate their hard work.

Eliminating Champagne bars on Oasis class ships is sad, its where we have met so many terrific fellow cruisers as well as the various lounges.

    Happy cruising !
