Thanks for sharing all the great information, everyone! A friend and I are planning a cruise on the Joy for June 2024.

Thanks for the review, as I am planning this cruise for next summer with a friend. I noticed that many of the usual suite perks do not apply to the Joy. Any idea why that is? I appreciate all the information you shared! Always helpful to read about people's likes/dislikes.

We have androids, so Imessage isn't an option. We were happy with the texting app and our teen called us a few times as well using it. It's not perfect, but we felt it was worth the money.

We just got off the Encore & bought the texting package. It worked really well most of the time and kept us in contact with our teenager. There were a few times where I would have to send a message twice for it to be delivered, but overall we were happy with it. You do have to check it frequently, as you don't get any kind of pop up notice when a new message arrives. If you can't get it to work, just head to guest services and they can assist you. Well worth it in our experience!

Thanks for sharing your research. We are planning to do this port without an excursion. Bikes sound like a lot of fun!
