My question I sent in was why are there no ships in Ft Lauderdale next summer 2025?

It looks like Oasis of the Seas and Enchanted Princess will be the only ships next summer out of Port everglades that are currently scheduled with Icon and Beyond sailing from Miami.  They haven't announced what Celebrity Reflection will be doing next summer so it may still be back.

    Hi -

I am on the Silhouette TA leaving Port Everglades on 4/22.   We are currently in a partial view veranda.  On 1/26 we received an email regarding MoveUp and I placed bids for Aqua Class and several suite categories.   When I went into the MoveUp offer page today, it showed all the suite category bids as "EXPIRED" and the Aqua Class as "PENDING".  I can no longer click on the "PENDING" status and modify the bid, nor can I get into the full list of MoveUp categories.

What does this mean?   Why would they expire all the bids this far out from sailing?   I checked and all the same suites I was bidding on are still available.

First time I have used MoveUp so just confused....  I checked our credit card and no charge has been made there....

    Joe

I am on that cruise too and after reading yours, I looked and mine says the same thing for aqua class.  Good luck to both of us.  We had prime concierge with a midship slant balcony so hopefully it will be a decent cabin location.  First transatlantic cruise.

I was able to get tips in my included price by going through TA

TA group rate deals through 2024 (that were presumably negotiated pre change) still include tips.  I don't see any in 2025 going forward that include gratuities.

This may seem like a ridiculous question, but we haven't cruised in nearly 6 years and are feeling like antiques here. I have read this on Celebrity's website:

    Basic Wi-Fi

With our Basic Wi-Fi, included in All Included cruise fares, you can browse the web, send emails, and text family and friends via select messaging apps. It’s a great value option for staying connected while you’re on vacation, but please note that you won’t be able to email large files, share photos or videos on social media, use streaming apps, or make video calls.

I read this that there is now basic wifi included with our regular cruise fare. Is that correct? We are Elite and would have free minutes coming as a perk, right? Please don't be frustrated with our lack of understanding. SO much has changed in the industry since we last cruised. Thank you for your help.

Basic wifi is included in All included cruise fare, but not in the Cruise only cruise fare.  All included and Cruise only are both regular cruise fares so it depends on which you book.

  5. While you can book the captains club discounts ahead of time by calling,  they don't combine with any pre-cruise discounts. Depending on the current offer you might just want to wait until you board and then use the 30% discount if you didn't see a better offer ahead of time.

  6. Usually by the time I get an email, the sale has been going on 1-2 days.  I check this site periodically or randomly check my my booking and I usually see it early.  Occasionally the sale on the second day is better than on the first day or changes slightly during the 1-1.5 weeks the sale is offered.

  7. Most cruise lines will not advise you on these issues.  At the port they will verify that you have sufficient documents to re-enter the US.  Once on the ship they will forward passenger information to the port authority and then the port will let the cruise line know if passenger X needs to provide additional documents like a Visa and if they don't have one may need to stay on the ship.

Foreign laws can change at any time and the cruise line doesn't want to legally take responsible on advising passengers of the foreign laws nor would they want to be responsible for compensating you if they give out incorrect info or info that changed since they told you which resulted in muffled travel plans.

There are over 190 countries in the world.  RCL and Celebrity will advise US citizens and citizens from the countries where the various cruises embark but that is the extent of the help you can get.

Most Caribbean countries want tourist dollars and aren't going to be picky but you do have to look it up for each one or pay a 3rd party to do the research.  You also want to make sure that the person has a multiple entry tourist visa to the US.  I am not sure if a standard one allows more than the single entry.  Without that, he would not be allowed on the ship in Ft Lauderdale.

  8. I booked multi night dining packages for my  April 2024 cruses when there was a 25% flash sale discount.  That was part of the labor day sale I believe because my booking date was August 30, 2023.  I check regularly to see if anything would apply to my October and November 2024 cruises and if anything the normal discount has gotten worse and nothing more than 7-10% on any individual or package deals for meals.

Was hoping for a wave flash sale but nothing yet.

We were recently on the Equinox and tried to book Tuscan and Murano pre-cruise but was unavailable. When we got on ship they were magically available at a higher price. We booked anyway and found Tuscan to be good but Murano to be very disappointing.

We had the opposite experience.  We were a bit disappointed in Tuscan but enjoyed Murano more than we thought we would. (Reflection December 2023)

  10. When crew members are tipped in cash (whether over and along with the auto tips or instead of the autotips when the cruiser had the tips removed) is that crew member required to report it and would that money get pooled with other employees?

If tips are reduced or eliminated does that reflect poorly on those employees associated with the guest?  Is the assumption if the gratuities are reduced that one or more of the employees did a sub par job and would they all be punished (in their reviews) for the reduction or elimination of the auto gratuities?

  11. For the last couple of years we have had 3-4 Celebrity cruises booked and end up taking 2-3.  With the changes including the much lower levels of OBC, lack of refundable deposits, elimination of gratuities include with all included and nothing particularly exciting in terms of itinerary, ship and price means nothing booked for 2025.  I am eyeing a Princess west coast and then perhaps something more last minute, with who knows, for fall of 2025.

  12. We got off reflection last month. Our terminal had no facial recognition so travel documents were manually checked for everyone.  It may have been under an hour but not by much.  I wouldn't book a flight earlier than 11:30.

  13. My understanding is that the imessaging worked/works on Carnival when they open the system up for messaging from the crew to their families.  Sometimes it is left open for 1-2 days of the cruise and other times it is left open for the entire cruise.  It is never guaranteed or constant and can be closed at any time or never opened during the entire cruise.  As more ships are connected with Starlink, it has been even less consistently available.

  14. Sorry I commented initially after only reading the first 30 responses.

It is so weird because I've heard about similar situations on SW planes but they all involved children that were too young to have government issued photo id.  Having a passport with the same last name should have been the end of the encounter, barring something like the daughter actively asking for help or seeming like she was drugged.

We had 3 minor children, all 17 year olds.

Why were the other two not asked if they were adopted? Why was only a multiracial family singled out? No other family we spoke to was asked about whether their kid was adopted.

Sorry if  I missed the answer if you already answered about last names.

We will be on the Silhouette for ten nights in mid January in Concierge.

We would like to purchase a multi day pass for Persian Gardens ... do you know the cost and whether we purchase it at the Spa?

You should see it in Spa and Fitness tab on your planner.  A 10 day pass is $236 per person for my cruise.  As long as they don't sell out pre-cruise you can buy single day and multiday passes once onboard.

  17. Luckily I have 3 9+ night cruises booked for 2024 all with refundable deposits, tips included and several hundred in OBC which is no longer being offered.  All and all, while the prices are similar now, prices are $600-$800 less considering the lost perks plus non refundable.  I don't plan on booking the types of "deals" that are currently available through X.
