  1. @cruisinqt There was one instance earlier this year with Breeze. It's first cruise after the dry dock (from Galveston, no transatlantic) was shortened a day. But that was just because of a storm in the Atlantic. I don't think you will have any problems as the dry dock is just next door. Don't worry
  2. Maybe they don't think there is a place for them in the Carnival fleet. I think Carnival should take the hint from all of us that we want those ships!
  3. I think its also that Carnival cruisers can stay on our line to do Europe, and go on the ships we know are fun, not worry about how other lines will be.
  4. Its just what they needed changed. In 2021, there was more demand for another Carnival ship. Remember how it was supposed to get a new funnel, whole Sunshine transformation, new name. But then things changed with Australia not yet restarting, Ecstasy and Sensation "needing" to leave the fleet. Then the need for the transfer changed. Now Carnival needed a new ship to fill in the hole, as Spirit moved to cover Freedom, Freedom to Elation, Elation to Ecstasy. Magica wasn't the right fit for Australia and Alaska. Even with the full Carnival refurbishment (which Carnival was in no financial position to afford) Magica would have been more of a Caribbean ship, to add new cruises. They then looked at a ship that was a better fit. Luminosa! It being a Spirit class made it great for Alaska and Australia. So there is nothing wrong about Magica, only what was needed was changed and Luminosa is a better fit.
  5. Paradise is scheduled to be in Tampa for 2024 doing 4+5 days. Pride is scheduled to be doing the 7 days from now to April 2023, November 2023 to April 2024. Legend is scheduled to do 7 days starting in November 2024. There are no less cruises scheduled than normal. Not sure where the idea came from that Tampa would be without a ship.
  6. TUI Cruises has newbuilds scheduled, but I could see Marella Cruises using these ships.
  7. I think it's likely for Margaritaville to expand in coming years, probably not with these ships.
  8. Ambassador is another secondhand, I don't think they would be shopping though. Their first ship was earlier this year and the next one is next year. After the Margaritaville rebranding, they did say that they didn't intend to stay a one ship operation for long. They could add Ft Lauderdale. I'm not sure if this is the size they are looking for.
  9. Here's how I remember. Type Atlantic and then add an A at the end Type Mediterranean and then delete the N at the end. If you don't know how to spell Mediterranean, then just type something similar and then spelling suggestions can take over.
  10. Those are ones that COULD buy them, not necessary DID. But I think it could be Ambassador, maybe Margaritaville, or even a startup. (CarnivalShips480 Cruise Line 😜)
  11. Something for all to remember these ships are being SOLD from Carnival Corporation, not transferred within.
  12. Easy to read, right here on Cruise Critic, also for anyone else who needs it. Destiny Class: Costa Fortuna Costa Magica Concordia Class: (Costa Concordia) Costa Serena Costa Pacifica Costa Favolosa Costa Fascinosa Spirit/Vista Hybrid Class: Costa Deliziosa Dream Class: Costa Diadema Vista Class: Costa Firenze (now alone) Excel Class: Costa Smeralda Costa Toscana
  13. Costa Fortuna - > no cruises past April 2023 (South America season)
  14. Maybe it is Atlantica and Mediterranea being sold. But those aren't Costa ships any more. 🤔
  15. It is a joint venture between Carnival and a Chinese shipbuilder, so naturally that means new ships. There has been a lot of pride with this first fully Chinese built ship.
  16. I guess so, but Luminosa conversion probably didn't cost too much. They could have done that.
  17. Carnival to Sell Three More Ships, Two From Costa - Cruise Industry News | Cruise News More ships sold, the Costa ones have to be Magica and Fortuna
  18. Carnival to Sell Three More Ships, Two From Costa - Cruise Industry News | Cruise News The Costa ships have to be Fortuna and Magica. I thought these ships would come to Carnival, but maybe Carnival couldn't find a spot for them. Very disappointing, also interesting release.
  19. @mrschrodThe ships won't be doing cruises from Italy, rather they are Italian designed and there is a Italian theme. Carnival Venezia is to cruise from New York, which are up for booking. Carnival Firenze is to cruise from Long Beach in 2024.
  20. I saw this too, its very interesting. I thought that these ships would go to Carnival. I also thought they were too new to be sold but I guess not. I wonder what the third ship is. Very disappointing that they will not be transferred to Carnival
  21. Do you mean the new Italian ships; Venezia and Firenze?
  22. What is going on? I'm going to get to the bottom of this
