Is an Old Fashioned covered under the Plus package and do they use a single large ice cube or crushed ice?  Which bar makes the best Old Fashioned (and other bourbon drinks) on Sun Princess?

I had one made yesterday on the emerald and it was made with regular ice cubes

  2. I am past final payment, does that matter?

I also do not have a TA, which I guess might come to bite me in a situation like this.

I was hoping it would just be the port fees/taxes and the plus package as an additional cost.

thanks for all the answers so far

  3. Was considering adding a person to my solo booking and was wondering how complicated that is?

im concerned about calling the call centre and them doing more damage than good to my reservation.  I suppose I don’t have much of a choice.

Just curious if anyone else has done this and what their experience was like.  TIA.

  4. I’m booked on the emerald in September with Portland as the first us stop on the journey.  I’ve got a cruise tour booked thru princess that morning and I’m concerned that it might get cancelled or we may not make it in time.  Would the refund be as an OBC?  And if I don’t use that OBC before I get off the ship the next day in Boston, what happens to that money?

Just don't expect to do any full-day-type tours.

We are scheduled to dock at 9am and my tour is scheduled from 10:15am-3:00pm.  I guess I’ll just have to wait and see.

  6. How did this affect tours booked through the cruise line?  I’m on a CA/NE cruise in sept that stops in Portland after leaving Canada so I imagine this will be where the issue is.  I’ve got a ship booked tour at 10;15 am and I’m wondering if I’ll even make it to that.

No, it doesn't show up on the app, even once you book it.  When I made the reservation they told me to write it down on my calendar as it would not appear with specialty dining reservations.

how do you book casual dining restaurants on the app?? I don’t seem to have the option

Thank you for your reply. We will go to Portland before getting to Boston.

Would you book an 11:30 domestic flight on a Sunday?

I had a flight booked for 1130 and the customer service rep told me to reschedule for later in the day.  It also said in my cruise info not to book anything less than 5-6 hrs after the ship is scheduled to dock in the morning.  I’m sure it can be done but I couldn’t risk missing the flight so I just rebooked for later in the day

It's like a $15-20 Uber ride. Very few traditional taxis left in Boston so I would highly recommend considering Uber or Lyft.

Will they have Uber or Lyft drivers waiting at the pier for when a ship disembarks or should I be downloading the app to call one?

Looking for a spot for one night in FLL area. Doesn't need to be near the port. Rodeway Inn seems to be ok - price is nice. Anyone stay here before? Would you recommend?

    tks in advance

I’d read the reviews.  Izzy or whoever used to manage the place was quite a character.  I’ve stayed here before and it was fine for an overnight with a shuttle to the ship.  Not sure if they still offer that though as it’s been years since we stayed.

They’re giving you very general advice that I would guess is not specific to Boston. Or it relates only to the cruise line run transfers which are totally unnecessary in Boston.

An 11am domestic flight would be quite easy to make at Boston Logan on your own.

That’s what I thought too but they insisted that it would be a bad idea for me to keep with that flight time 🤷🏻‍♀️. Either way it’s what you’re comfortable with.  Personally I can’t risk missing my flight so I opted to reschedule

We will be coming into port on Sunday. Would taking an 11:35 am flight be cutting it too close? We plan on carrying our luggage off the ship.

I had an 11am flight booked and they told me to rebook it for later.  Apparently international flights you need to book at least 6 hrs after 7am (back at pier time) and 5 hrs after 7am if it’s within the country .  I figured getting off the boat by 8am and getting to the airport would leave me enough time but according to the call centre If there’s any delays you could have an issue so they told me to rebook.

  13. Not trying to start a debate about anything regarding this, just wanting factual info if anyone has it.

if I’m going on a Canada New England cruise during the Canadian portion is it okay to use marijuana products while on shore and then come aboard the ship?  Weed is legal in Canada but I can’t seem to find any info on princess cruises take on it.

again not trying to start any arguments just curious about the rules regarding this if anyone has any information.
