Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Update from Canada re: Testing for travel to Canada as of 08/26/22. Holland America has not yet updated their protocols for cruises that stop in Canada so as of today, we still need to test even though Canada doesn't require it. No one I spoke with at HAL knows why.
  2. Just received confirmation from Canada regarding covid testing (as shown below), however HAL has not updated their protocols for Alaska and our HAL travel agent said today that testing is still required, even though Canada says it's not necessary. It's all very confusing and seems not everyone is on the same page. I asked the TA why HAL still required the test and she had no idea. If anyone knows anything, I'm sure I'm not the only one concerned about trying to fit in a test before embarkation.
  3. I have been waiting on HOLD for over an hour, both on the phone and via chat, to get an answer regarding a negative COVID test on the 7 day cruise to Alaska out of Seattle. Because the Maritime law requires the ship to stop in Canada I am assuming we will still need a negative COVID test to meet Canada's protocols. After reading through all the posts today, that appears to be the general conscious but no one can say for sure. I guess this will also apply to HMC for our b2b cruise in Nov.
  4. We are scheduled for a back to back cruise in Nov-Dec. One cruise is 10 days and the other is 11 days. This appears to fall under the new guidelines for 16 days or under cruises released yesterday, but now I wonder if HAL will consider our b2b cruises as 1 cruise of 21 days, instead of the 2 individual cruises - which is how we booked them. If so, then we will still need the negative COVID test. So confusing and no one at HAL has an answer.
