  1. Well Cunard did say to channel your inner James Bond! I would have loved to have seen that, well done.
  2. That's fantastic, Bon voyage (hopefully with oodles of complimentary champers and buckets of extra OBC).
  3. What lovely pictures and the food looks amazing. I often think you two lead the most wonderful life and the icing on the cake....your gorgeous cats!
  4. Well done, the only way is up now, quite literally from deck 1 but now you've got the right people involved it should be a little easier to get things sorted more satisfactorily. Let us know where you end up and how the trip goes, isn't cruise critic marvellous!
  5. Could you hear the collective sigh of relief from the cruise critic folk? I am thrilled that you now know you're on the cruise and I hope you are able to get at the very least what you originally booked. I'll raise a glass to you and your travels this evening and you should do the same, you deserve it, cheers!
  6. Wow! So glad you came out the other side, have the epic trip you deserve.
  7. I was going to suggest the same. If it's a glitch then that's not your fault and the responsibility to sort it out is with whoever was using the software when the glitch was made (if that's true). I can't believe anyone would think saying it was due to a glitch would absolve them of any further responsibility. This topic is quite rightly getting a lot of interest so if it's Cunard's fault they won't like the bad PR. If it's the TA's fault you would deserve that PG for their incompetence. I really hope you get this sorted soon, please let us know the outcome and I am so sorry this has happened to you, I'm routing for you.
  8. I know where you're coming from but some adults are far worse than kids and the reason most kids are terrible is because of the adults' skills at parenting. We've been hearing about a lot of adults on this site, even famous ones, throwing hissy fits when they don't get their own way. Plus 'adults only' anything these days can translate to some as hedonism allowed as a starting point. I'm Imagining how Cunard would ambiguously word the 'hedonism code of conduct' and how irate people might get when it's not adhered to... sorry I went a bit off piste...which incidentally is allowed within the new code!
  9. If you wear a red and white hat and a pair of round black glasses we can play "Where's Winifred"!
  10. I had to reload my app to get it to work in the first place but the app was then down for at least 24hrs ship wide anyway. Thanks for doing the running commentary they're great to follow!
  11. Thanks Myles, you've provided us with such interesting and entertaining nuggets from your cruise. A lot has happened in our life and in general over your past 7/8 weeks onboard (if that's correct), and I've often found myself thinking "wow Myles is still on that cruise 😆" I'm so glad you've had such a great time with your partner, won at Blackjack, seen so many great shows and ports of call and Queen Anne will certainly in my mind, be your ship. What we now need is a montage of your travels set to music and it'll be like the end of an epic film. Oh and I'm sure the cats will be so thrilled to have you home. Here's to your next voyage!
  12. I don't think that would damage Cunard's reputation so long as Cunard are genuinely wanting to keep a heightened dress code going. People would see it and think either 'Cunard's not the cruise line for me if that's how I'll be treated in casual clothes on a formal night' or 'This looks just the cruise line for me as standards are kept high'. The latter is how I felt two years ago when deciding on my first ever cruise and chose Cunard. I went on a mammoth YouTube session as well as signing up to Criusecritic (thank you), to work out what suited me best. I've just booked my fourth cruise so, personally, I'm hoping the dress code is upheld as I want to continue to sail on Cunard, but I realise we all have different reasons for sailing.
  13. Have you got barnacles growing on you Myles? 🤣
  14. Have a lovely time everyone, we disembarked yesterday after a very pleasurable cruise in Queens Grill. A beautiful room and the staff treated us so well and I must say I've never known such a friendly Maitre D, he was charming, as of course were all the other staff. Back on Queen Victoria next which is a little more my cup of tea but I wouldn't rule out another trip on Queen Anne. Enjoy!
  15. I'm a great recycler, bin night in our household is a great source of pride but I too am always pleased to see the individual pots available at hotels, what my husband and children can do to a large pot of jam in a matter of minutes is stomach churning, the butter and crumbs start festering in the jam that is left out in the warm kitchen and it becomes quite the science experiment. I have to hide a jar of Bonne Maman under the veg in the fridge to keep my sacred jar from contamination. My family must have built up quite the immune system.
  16. Absolutely Victoria2 and there's always that small possibility of seeing that celebrity guest speaker you've always wanted to meet arriving at the table next to the one you've just asked to be moved from!
  17. You sound like someone who will always make the best of a situation and I'm sure your attitude makes you a lovely person for the other table guests to be near. I wish you the very best for your trip.
  18. They're fabulous, I take it you don't have cats as the Titanic would be going down a second time if it was in our house. That's a very impressive display, thanks for sharing.
  19. Were they coughing or has it all been a ploy?
  20. Absolutely and I'd just like to say "Calm Down, Calm Down"!!! 🤣
  21. How does anyone know they actually have covid, maybe they just wanted a better cabin and view which might be why they refused a test? Seems an easy way to get an upgrade but would really hope they don't get the perks of a PG. When I came down with it on QV I was thinking of others and not leaving the room, I still worry that I spread it to a vulnerable guest before knowing I had it.
  22. Wow, I have just looked the song and video up on Youtube and whilst I recognised the song, vaguely, I never knew he was in that band, granted I was 5 at the time. What an education CruiseCritic is, you come for the tips and insider knowledge for an enjoyable cruise and leave questioning your musical knowledge. I want you on my team at the pub quiz.
