  1. I am deeply concern that princess is continuing this charade. June 18 sailing has the current shortened schedule and miraculously the following sailing on the 25 has it back to normal (Juneau in at 2:30 and icy strait is back??). Yeah, are they fixing everything while in the middle of the ocean or at Skagway? I doubt it. it’s also strange that the july 2 sailing is not available anymore. There is no way it can be sold out…it would be the only one to be sold out. I wonder if they will last min cancel this sailing to do a dry dock to fix the engine. I enjoyed the glacier bay experience. Wish I saw more wildlife tho.
  2. I can attest to these pics as what you will get on the Crown Princess...deck 9 and only certain rooms. I was in D633 and we had the sofa bed rolled out like the above pic. we did not do the upper berth. It's a full size sofa bed, but takes up the entire living room so it would be hard to get to the balcony with it folded out. We first had everyone in one room but then i realize we all go crazy with my two teenagers in one room so we got them their own room directly at E633 for a decent price for the two teenagers. E633 is priced obstructed oceanview but actually, there is no obstruction at all.
  3. the passenger count was around 1700 for the may 28 sailing
  4. damn you're lucky, i'm happy for you! I wish my sailing had advanced notice and OBC...actually, i wish all previous sailings had more notice. yes, be happy you get to go on one of the few excursions available. there are many other people who will be pissed off because they do not have any options left available that's worth anything. i wish i had the option to do the whale watching as all i saw were otters and eagles. 😞
  5. In the excursion tab, you should see your reservations and can cancel. It will go back to the original payment method (obc in your case).
  6. I thought crown skipped a week at the end of July to get this fixed? But looking at the website, she has sailings every week. Thru end of July, it’s only Juneau and Skagway. But when you get into Aug and sep sailings, they put back the original schedule with Ketchikan. So exactly when were they planning on fixing the engine? Or are they hoping for a miracle between the July 30 and Aug 6 sailings? at this point, without any time to fix the issue, I would assume the Aug sailings will be changed last min and everyone again is screwed.
  7. I was joking about the rubbing it in. as for the excursions being closed, chatting or calling the rep won't help. For my glacier/bake/gardens one, they kept saying it's active up to when i boarded. and that excursion started before the docking time. The company continued to string everyone along. You can try to change the excursion over the phone. otherwise i would suggest getting on the earliest boarding group (11am-1130am), go directly to the excursion desk on the deck 6 and get what you can at that time, which isn't much. i was on the first group and got to the desk around 1230pm. they only had the salmon bake available, underground mining/gold panning and 3 for the glacier and tram.
  8. if the 630 whale watching is full, based on what was available on the app on the embarkment day, you don't have alot of choices: salmon bake at 630 or the glacier view or tram view (closes at 8pm). there is also the underground mining and gold panning, bike and brew glacier view or the taste of juneau walking tour. or do what most people end up doing....just walk around town or stay on the boat. princess is dismay in making up for the mess they made. canceling most excursions but do not give people any altermatives. btw, salmon bake was ok...it's not intimate setting at all. you're bussed to a campground where you eat the food, buffet style. the location is nice, you can walk a short way to a small waterfall.
  9. just keep rubbing it in please :). "As a gesture of concern"? what about the 28th sailing? we got nothing except for "oh well" excuse. I just got an email from a Princess sales rep with a great offer for summer sailing. The audacity! well, he got an earful with my reply to that email. I have a coworker who is on the 11th sailing and i warned him to change his excursion to the whale watching because everything will be canceled last min. maybe if he has the extra OBC, he can use it for the pricier excursion. he said he has an excursion at 530 and it still showed as active. i told him to think about it. if you're docking at 530, how on earth can you make anything schedule for the same time? Again, Princess continues to drag people along and not giving them a chance to change their excursion or get a refund.
  10. How do I get the details of all the charges made during the cruise? When I log into my account either thru the website or medallion app, it doesn’t show the shipboard charges anywhere. I guess I could have asked for a printout before I left but I figure there should be a way to see if after disembarking.
  11. One of the few bright spots was the weather in Juneau, Skagway and glacier bay. Perfect weather! Upper 70s and sunny. We were overdressed :(. Saw all the mountains, glaciers, and natural beauties perfectly! My kids even swam in the pool after finishing Skagway. Unfortunately it looks like the current sailing and the 11th may have be cloudy, rainy and colder. Good luck on that. It would be a shame not to be able to see anything due to rain or fog. Marjorie glacier here:
  12. You were on the 28th sailing? It seems like we stayed in glacier bay for most of the day. We got into the entrance around 8-9am, sailed to the first glacier area around 10-1030 and then sailed to the second one around noon. Started to leave the area around 1230pm. It takes awhile to get thru the park. so I’m not sure what you mean by not spending too much time in glacier bay.
  13. Wait a min. The sailings from May 7, 14, 21, and now June 11 got additional compensation that’s outside of the meager $100 obc from the original Ketchikan/icy strait swap? What about the sailings from May 28 and June 4? We haven’t gotten anything extra from this mess. what the fudge is wrong with princess?
  14. Strange you got a different reply than what I got from the front desk. I complained in a nice way. Stating that the itinerary changed last min for us (may28 sailing) and we should have gotten something like the previous sailing. The front desk said the decision comes from the front corp office, not them so they don’t have any control over it. im sure many people complained on the May 28 but we haven’t gotten any extra compensation. I don’t know if we ever will. I completed my survey and pretty much gave a zero on everything except for the stateroom steward. Wrote some good comments. I just don’t know if they read them or care about the comments.
  15. According to my booking, we got the stateroom upgrade and specialty restaurant. Doesn’t say anything about soda package. at this point, I don’t care. The trip was a mess and whatever I got out of it, I’m not complaining. I got two plates of chocolate covered strawberries and all the guy told my daughter was “it’s from us”. No other explanation.
  16. I did not pay for the package. If so, my hubby would not have been charged for the soda cans. We were also charged for alcohol drinks and special drinks like non alcoholic pina coladas. Yes, we were charged the daily crew appreciation fees (tips). anyone who is on the next sailings can try this. I got most of the sodas at the explorers lounge bar and club fusion. they kept saying normal coffee thru room service should be free, bur the app has it at starting at 1.50. Ao it’s a lil whacked.
  17. Not sure what to tell you. I got an ungodly amount of Diet Coke and sprite and do not see the charges. When my hubby got the cans, I saw the charges. I knew he was charged because they would ask for his medallion or confirm his identity. For me, I took the drinks and they asked nothing so I left. I have left the ship. Easy to disembark around 9am. I would have definitely booked an earlier flight like around1pm as we’re all tired and not in the mood to do anything.
  18. For those who want free sodas and didn’t pay the drink package, Diet Coke, coke, sprite, or ginger ale from the fountain are free at any of the bars. If they take out a can, they’ll charge you so ask for the fountain. for orange juice and milk, get them at bfast at the food buffet as they are free there. we had no internet connection the entire trip. Text was available on shore. Weirdly, thru the medallion wifi, you can use google to search and gmail is available. That was my only window to the outside world. I wish I knew how tired it is from a seven day cruise, I would have booked my flight home at 130 instead of 330. We were used shorter cruises so we were done by the 5th day.
  19. Finally in Seattle. Trip has been disappointing (excluding the whole engine thing). Not a lot of good entertainment. I can take only so many trivia shows :(. For Juneau, tram closes at 8, glacier visitor center at 730 so it’s one or the other as you get to port at 530. It took us about 30 mins to disembark as it took a lil longer for the ship to get clearance. I would suggest doing the whale excursion if you have the money. We barely saw any wildlife on the cruise. Mostly otters. My husband saw one whale during one bfast time. Salmon bake was ok. It’s not as private or quaint as they advertise. we’re one of the “one and done” group here.
  20. We’re arriving in Seattle the night before the cruise and staying at the Westin hotel. How are people getting from the airport up to downtown Seattle if you are coming in early? We do not know anyone who can give us lift. We need to use a minivan as we have 4 luggage and 4 people. Uber is showing $75. I looked at the 1 line train and it’s $3 per person and takes an hour. We have to walk 1/2 mile from the airport to the station tho. any other options or what have other people done?
