Same for us on the Solstice in Aqua with AI.  This kind of "glitch" wastes a lot of time and $$ for travel agents and X phone reps.  Luckily we are retired and have time to waste but in this job market  I'll bet X would rather be booking cruises than wasting time confirming that it was an IT error for hundreds of callers.  Just saying.

Best thing for X to do would be to arrange for their IT team to reverse the "cancellation" on the CP to save everyone the time and effort (and worry)

Yes.  Bar was open 5pm to late daily last week.

    What is considered late ?

What is normal closing times for bars on the ship - thinking of Sky Lounge / Martini Bar / Ensemble lounge / Sunset Bar / Casino - Sports bar ?

Are any of them usually later than others ?   Assume Casino would be - but any of the others ?

Thanks to the OP starting this thread, I also went on to check and have the same message of "cancelled" for my drink package.  Like others, I assume (hope!) it is simply an IT glitch and will revert back the way it should be within a few days.

Anybody seen any update on this ?  Do we need to be concerned that our drinks packages are suddenly showing as "cancelled" or can we just ignore it and put it down as a glitch / Celebrity IT problems ?

Seems to be affecting a good number of people on here (and so I assume a lot more who are not on here) - so assume Celebrity are well aware of the issue ?

Same here on the Infinty 21st December sailing. I'm currently investigating.

Likewise on the Silhouette out of Southampton at the end of this month (September).

We have AI (upgraded to premium by Elevate) and it has been showing the Premium drinks package in the CP for the past few months.  Today - its showing as cancelled.  Assume its a glitch and will be sorted out.  We have already checked in and have PALL on the Express Card - so  hopefully will be OK

See; this is the problem with the world, nobody wants to take a stand. They want to pass it off to someone else.

Fully agree with you - but to be fair, most people on holiday do not want the grief of an altercation (or worse).

It's really for Celebrity (and other Lines) and the Pool Attendants to sort this sort of behaviour out.

I was under the impression that the Elevate package doesn’t include an upgrade of the wifi to streaming. Thought you needed the Indulge package for that. 🤷‍♀️

I think that is correct.  Elevate (purchased on top of regular AI) gives Premium drinks and some OBC (as well as the existing AI perks of Tips and basic WiFi).

I note some posters (Posts 10 and 12) have suggested they got the upgraded Surf wifi as part of the Elevate package - which was a surprise to me ?   (but I'll take it if they offer it 🙂 ............how would I know ?)

What you need is a USB-C to HMDI adapter for current iPads and a long HDMI cable, probably with a right angled socket at the tv end and you also need to make sure that the HDMI socket on the TV sorted to allow it to be used. I have done this once using the lightning adapter on an older iPads and once the HDMI socket was sorted on the tv it worked fine.

Unless it’s an hotel TV and locked. :classic_mellow:Sometimes you even might need an universal remote to even select the output.

We too like to enjoy our local news (live TV app), subtitled movies (easier to follow :classic_happy:) etc from our own iPads or iPhones but we gave ships up..

Renting an HD movie through Prime or AppleTV and watching it on our lap with a pillow as support instead.

Sometimes we do bring our adapters and HDMI cable to (smaller) land based destinations, with a 50% succes rate.

All sounds a bit of a faff !

Each to their own - but not for me !

I have just come off a 4 night trip on Silhouette from Southampton and was shocked by the behaviour of some fellow passengers.

They were rude to staff, drunk, loud and we found ourselves apologising to staff for their behaviour.

Normally, if there’s a few people at the bar, you sort of let the people who were there first be served before you. Not on this cruise. Loud mouths pushing in with no respect for their fellow guests.

It seemed as if the majority were first time cruisers who got this at a cheap price and the ship was also full.

The staff were amazing and we love Celebrity. If any staff read this then thank you.

This is very disappointing - and the reason why I always avoid short cruises (although you can get very loud and rude people on longer cruises as well) .

No overthinking apologies necessary.  At the end of your meal, you'll be asked to sign a receipt that should be "$0".  Some servers ask for 1 of your seapass cards, some don't.  They have your cabin number already so never understood why they need this.  We always leave something extra to our server but that's just us.

Thanks for responding - will look for the "$0.00"

Appreciate can add / leave further tip 🙂

  10. We are due on Silhouette next month and have pre purchased a dining package (several nights).

I know that when we board we need to head for one of the restaurants and so arrange our dinner reservations.  OK

When we have the meal (note we also have the Premium drinks package) - do we have to sign for anything / show our sea pass card - so as to ensure the meal is "chalked off" our package ?

I don't want to sign and then find the charge is added to our ship board account ?

Sorry if I am overthinking this

  11. What time is the earliest you can board ?

We have a time slot of 11.30 for our cruise from Southampton next month  - which seemed ok to me but am aware that folks who boarded the ship today in Southampton who also had a 11.30 boarding time - arrived early and were able to board at about 10.30

Is this normal ?     Should we arrive early and hope we can get on ?

One thing to note:  I was recently on the Apex and had the Elevate package.  My card did not show the premium drinks.  I had to visit guest relations to have them research and correct.

Thanks for the heads up.   I think we are OK - having now checked in on line, our Express pass says PALL - so I think that's premium drinks and hopefully this code (PALL) will be showing on the Room Cards as well.  If not - like you - I will be visiting Guest Relations 😉

It would have given you additional OBC and an upgrade to the premium beverage package.

This is correct.  I am also on the Silhouette later this month and obtained the Elevate package as part of the deal when booking.  This gave us $300 OBC (balcony cabin) and premium drinks.  We already had AI - so we also get the Tips and basic WiFi included.

It sounds like you should be similar.

I understand Elevate had now been discontinued for new bookings

I was on silhouette  last month and was continually offered Prosecco even though I had premium package. I politely complained at guest services and then was given Cartier in restaurant.

Thanks for this - good to know that guest services can make this happen.

Disappointing that despite having the Premium package - they try to fob you off with prosecco

We stayed  at the Moxy ( as it then was  changed hands I gather) at Edinburgh Airport a couple of years  ago. Yes  quirky but with some nice features ( soft blue lighting around the bed when it senses your feet ) Great for overnight bathroom  visits........

    good to know !

Haven't stayed at the Moxy, but I understand it's a quirky Marriott brand. Designed for younger folk, gets pretty decent reviews.

No carpark, its adjacent to the multi-storey carpark for the big West Quay Mall.

If arrangements at Moxy are the same as for the adjoining Premier Inn West Quay, you can get a reduced-fee overnite multi-storey ticket

Excellent location, 100 yards from the West Quay entertainment & dining complex - a line of restaurants facing the old city wall. Most (all?) of those restaurants are cloned national & international brands, if you want something more individual it's a 10-minute walk to the waterfront - Dancing Man dining/pub/micro-brewery, or the Duke of Wellington dining/pub 100 yards behind it on Bugle St., or Kuti's Indian opposite it, or Ennio's (Italian) or La Regata (Spanish) restaurants a few yards further along the waterfront. We've eaten at all of them except Kuti's ('er-indoors doesn't do Indian), Ennos & La Regata are a bit more expensive but equivalent value-for-money.

The Bargate through the city wall at the other end of West Quay Mall links the old & new parts of the city centre.

    JB 🙂

All very helpful - thanks for taking the time to respond.

Although not as young as we used to be - happy to do quirky for one night  🙂

  17. Looks like we will stay here the night before our cruise next month having drove down from NW during the day.   Park the car overnight and then on to Cruise terminal to park with AB Parking ? for the duration of the cruise

Anyone have any tips / experience of the Moxy / parking.  Anywhere to eat (within walking distance that evening) ?

    Thanks for any help

  18. If you are comfortable with the driving (which is what I would do) I'd suggest you aim to stop over twice - perhaps Yorkshire area and then Cotswolds / Oxford area. Then proceed to Southampton on the day of the cruise in time for early check in.  Probably aim to just stop once on the way back - perhaps Derbyshire area (North of Birmingham anyway)

If not comfortable driving - best seems to be direct train to London (perhaps stay over in London) and then train to Southampton

    Enjoy the cruise whatever

We took our three children on the Disney Magic many years ago - they loved it (as did I )

Aged 2 or 3 is however very young - whilst they will no doubt love it, I suspect they will not remember too much of it and you may have to go back and do it again when they are a bit older as well !

Special times - enjoy while they are young

I upgrade because champagne is my holiday treat. Was on silhouette last month and after only being offered Chandon ( on classic package) and complaining at guest services I was offered Cartier .
think you have to try all venues and like I did complain ( but politely)

Thanks for the tip - if it necessary to complain, always politely.

Yes Cattier is the champagne that I hope to be offered on the Premium package  (but appreciate they do have some supply issues).  As you say Chandon (a Californian sparkling wine - not a champagne) is on the classic package.

We were in Murano on Friday evening and I asked the Sommelier for help with your question. He quoted 2 Champagnes (as he described them) within the Premium Package as being widely available on the ship, Chandon and one other (I can't recall the name). We tried Chandon and a third that he offered - Celebrity Vintage (I have a feeling that the latter may be a sparkling wine). Both were definitely palatable.

Thanks for doing this - really appreciated.

Neither Chandon nor Celebrity Vintage are really champagnes - both sparkling wines.  Whilst pleased to hear they are palatable - conscious that Celebrity promote the the premium package as having champagnes.

They do definitely include some real champagnes in the package - but understand they also sometimes try to pass off lesser sparkling wines !   I'll see what they offer me on my cruise next month

    Thanks again for raising this
