Exactly what I was thinking. Would definitely have Glacier Bay included on itinerary, would want covered promenade deck with access to the bow and a covered balcony stateroom. I looked for "When and Where" but was only able to find samples and not one for a one way Alaska (or Alaska) sailing. Thank you for the input, like the quick and varied responses. -
how much of an expanded menu? "priority seating in the dining room with expanded menu" Would have to weigh out all the costs to see if it's worth it.

Is CO worth it just for the other perks? Note it wouldn't be on a Pinnacle Class ship.

So how many different meta categories does HAL have for verandahs and when booking how do you know what meta category it is? I looked when booking but didn't see it but could have missed it.

Can you refuse the cabin upgrade when purchasing Club Orange on HAL? Would spend a lot of time selecting the location of the cabin and like the other perks provided but would prefer to stay in the cabin location I select. Is that possible?

Are the verandah staterooms on Noordam and Nieuw Amsterdam covered? Tough to tell if the ship is angled and has exposed balconies or if they are covered.

Thank you for all the replies. Looks like no mini suites on Grand or Sapphire have covered balconies that have a deck above and below them with rooms (not nightclubs/theaters, etc.). Might have to look at Holland America.

Thank you. Would prefer a covered balcony for an Alaskan cruise and like the extras with a club class but may have get a suite to get a covered balcony. Appears club class mini suites and mini suites are only on Dolphin Deck on Grand and Sapphire. Is there an option to get priority embarkation/disembarkation on Princess ($) without getting club class?
