  1. Not to stray from the Adventure topic, but Celebrity doesn't force you to go through the casino to get from one end of the ship to another on the casino, there's a path along side it. On most RC ships you have to pass through to get to the entertainment complex, unless you go cross ship on level 5 and then go down.
  2. The restaurants and other areas of the ship are fine, but if you are gamblers, he will have a hard time navigating the casino. He would be better off using a cane in the casino rather than a scooter or walker, and if the restaurant you want requires you to go through the casino, or you want to go to the theater, make sure you go cross ship through level 5 - avoid trying to pass through the casino.
  3. How does one find any site? I found it by googling cruise ship photos because I wanted to see pictures of a ship I was considering beyond the ones the line themselves were showing. Perhaps the OP Googled no sail list. It really doesn't matter how they found the door, and still doesn't speak to their legitimacy.
  4. a) youd disappear too if rveryone piled on with victim blaming. b) The first day I 'officially' joined (I had lurked for a while), I spent a lot of time going through threads and responding. The time one dpends posting has no bearing on legitimacy
  5. It sounds as if this scammer stole someone else's cc to book trips, asked you to pay him cash and skipped with your money. The person whose cc it was noticed the charge they did not make and disputed it. That charge to CCL was associated with your booking. That's how Ponzi schemes work. In my earlier post, I gave you s link to the executive contacts at CCL, find the post and contact the execs. Customer service cannot help you with this.
  6. I would suggest that you bypass customer service and go directly to the executive contacts listed here with any and all documentation https://www.elliott.org/company-contacts/carnival-cruise-lines/ you can also look aroynd the wrbsite. The guy foes travel advocacy and I read in a revent column that he assisted somebidy with getting off a do nit sail list. Not sure, but it mught have also involved Carnival.
  7. Im not talking custom, I'm talking about theit standard air arrangements. The price of the airfare gets added to your cruise fare and the book your flights 75 days out. If several parties make arrangements to cruise and are on different bookings, you can have the reservations linked, and they will fly everyone together. I sm assuming here the took the FAS fare, which you can't utilize on custom arrangements. They won't give a refund if the OP decides to make alternate arrangements, so they will have to pay full price for new flights AND eat what they already paid. If NCK is eilling to make the chage, that will also cost them, but probably not as much as doing it on their own. I have found NCL's air dept to be the least cooperative/sympathetic of any of the cruise lines...and they are downright nasty about it.
  8. Usually after booking the cruise, if parties have different booking numbers, you should link the reservations before the air reservations are made. Linked reservations are booked together, as long as everyone is booked/linked orior to 75 days before sailing. They don't book the air until 75 days out. Your only option now is to try to get them to change the reservations by explaining the necessity of having the assistance. They may be willing to do it for a hefty change fee.
  9. In most of ships they are, since it is required to pass through to get to the theater or dining room (depending on which deck it is on). And this particular casino is a nightmare for the mobility limited.
  10. It's small, crowded and badly arranged. There is no clear path directly through it and if you are with a walker, skooter, or wheelchair, it is impossible to navigate. Unlike its sister, Explorer of the Seas, which has the same basic configuration and size, but feels roomier because it is laid out differently.
  11. When I spoke to the woman who told me what happened, she said that she told the guide he should have given his number to the group, but his response was that he was not allowed to--which seems ridiculous to me when it is the kind of tour where people are separated. Should have at least given the phone number of the tour operator, who then could have gotten in touch with him. As a matter of fact, I am beginning to think the tour operator's contact info should be right on the tickets.
  12. I am aware that we were probably not where everyone else was. The best I can figure is that we were in the right place, but not in the exact spot where everyone was supposed to meet. We were early so we went to the center of the square to sit on a bench, but we had a view of the general area where we the guide was supposed to show up. I guess we misjudged our line of sight, because we saw no one from our bus, and it was probably compounded by the fact that there was a long line to the entrance of the Alcazar which may have obscured our group. I have no expectation of compensation from NCL, but it would be a nice gesture, if it was to come.
  13. I actually did take a photo of the port agent info, wasn't sure if they would contact the ship in that instance, but I was going to try, but then we decided on the uber.
  14. I usually download the cruise document to my cloud drive. I know somewhere buried in there is a way to contact the ship. I was hoping if we could contact the ship, they could either tell us where the guide was or tell the guide where we were. I guess I downloaded them to my computer at home and not the cloud.
  15. The scariest thing was that we didn't take our passports off the ship, and I was worried that if we missed the ship departure, we wouldn't be able to get out of Spain.
  16. I also set a timer, as the guide told us the the time AND how long. Part of the problem, I think, was that part of the tour was a walking tour with a local and she was the one who told us the spot to be at. I guess it was literally to be that exact spot, not a bench 5 feet away.
  17. We were, apparently, in the right vicinity at the right time, just not the exact spot I guess. It's also the fact that the old town is just a maze. The landmark where we were to meet was the square in front of the Cathedral, which I hard to miss--you can see the bell tower from everywhere.
  18. We made sure we were on ship's time, which in this case was local time. The woman I spoke with later told the meet was on time and they waited as long as they could for us.
  19. So, my sister and I just got off the NCL Star Lisbon/Lisbon 11/1-12. We took a ship excursion from Cadiz to Seville. The tour itself, was enjoyable and Seville is beautiful. The last part of the tour was time on our own with instructions to meet back at a certain point at a certain time. We were back at the meeting point early but did not see anyone we recognized from our tour (nor anyone wearing the tour # badges), but figured we were early, and everyone would trickle in eventually. We waited and waited until the meet time came and went, and still no one was there. One of us took several strolls around the area and we still did not see our group. Personally, I would not know what the tour guide looked like if I tripped over him, but I did know several people from the bus ride to be able to pick them out of a crowd. Finally, we decided that either there was a miscommunication, or we missed the group and we tried to head back to where the bus was supposed to be. We got a map from the tourist center, and we could not find our way out of the maze. Even Google maps was no help (I thought we were just going around in circles). Finally, we just gave up and called an Uber (thank goodness Uber was available in Seville). After a 198-euro uber ride, we got on board and went immediately to the excursion desk to a) report ourselves back in and b) put in an incident report about it. I don't know if there will be any compensation, either in the form of a partial tour refund or partial or complete Uber refund, but it supposedly has to go to the higher ups for resolution. Later, in the casino, one of the people who was on the bus (who I had been playing with since the trip start), told me that they waited for us and looked for us and she urged the guide to give us more time, as they knew my sister had mobility problems. Finally, they had to leave, and she said the guide was devastated because he never had "lost" anyone before. If they were there and looking for us, they must have been in a parallel universe. All's well that ends well, I guess, because we arrived back to the ship safe and didn't make the boat late for departure; but I don't think I'll be taking any more "on your own" trips anymore.
  20. I just want to also note that NCL estimates and charges you at booking for the highest current listed airfare for the dates of your flights. If the airfare goes down, they do not refund the price difference, if it goes up, they do not charge you more. It's the gamble they take to cover airfare increases and to give the "2nd person free" pricing. So, it might be prudent to look up the airfares for the dates you are flying in advance and decide whether it makes more sense to book through NCL or on your own. On your own, you get to pick the flights/airports/times you want. NCL only uses "guidelines" to try to get you to the ship on time and washes their hands of you within 72 hours of your flight. Unlike Celebrity, which gives you some control over flight selection, guarantees to get you to the ship on time (or refund your cruise fare if you don't make it, and then get you home.) They also keep tabs on flight delays and proactively assist if there's a problem right up until you fly.
  21. I understood what was being asked. My question was why go on a family cruise and snd exclude said teen from an activity when there is plenty of time to work on the project after the tour. Unless the teen didnt want to go on that particular tour and wanted to do their project.
  22. I don't understand why the teen can't go on the excursion and work on his project in the evening? Why would you take your child on a cruise and exclude them from an activity?
  23. I guess it depends on the cruise line. RC allows it. When you call the casino line, you tell them you'd like to combine for a single category upgrade - the offers have to be identical, though (same offer #). My understanding is you cannot combine offers if they have a different offer #.
  24. It's much easier to do a body swap then get extra keys - you don't have to keep track of anything or get side eye from security or cabin steward. Everyone is where they belong.
  25. It is not a scam when you switch. My sister and I get our own casino offers, often they are the same offer. We either travel in separate cabins solo or invite my nephew & his GF. The offers are for two per cabin, no penalty for traveling alone. When others come along, at booking, we put one in each cabin and then switch (legally) on board. As I said before, Guest Services doesn't know or care about what offer you have or how you booked, they only care about knowing who is in each cabin. Sometimes we combine our offers to a single cabin for an upgrade, but we each get to keep our individual offer (free play, OBC, etc). Actually, the only rule about the casino offers is that the person who actually got the offer be on the sailing--meaning I can't book the cabin and then let someone else go in my place. As long as I am on board, it doesn't matter who is in my cabin.
