Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Did anyone go to dinner at l’amour and was it worth it. We are supposed to go tomorrow —our last night. Sort of tired of lots of food.
  2. What is the tipping situation? I read that it is a collective tip at the end?
  3. Quick update: all is going well on the cruise. Made the connection with a half hour to spare although it was a little confusing and luckily the flight was delayed so had some time to collect myself. I needed to know to follow signs for transfer and not go to regular immigration. We found the boat no problem. As everyone said they are all lined up along the river and clearly marked. All the excursions have been fun and mellow. We liked walking around Bordeaux and exploring. We enjoyed wine museum. And in addition to cannele which are great and as Pontac said we are given them before concert too. Another good sweet are the kouigh aman from Larnicol and cream puffs from dunes blanch if you happen to be walking past. Thanks again for help and tips.
  4. Just checked and we are at that location! So we will look for our boat. Thank you
  5. I will move as fast as I can! One more question. Was concert night at chateau dressy? Was it inside? And also was dinner attire on the ship more business attire? Seems like they suggest you veer away from casual. Just want to know how much dress clothes to include.
  6. Thank you so much for extra info. We are taking cab from Novotel in Bordeaux. And will follow your advice. So great to know how to look for boat. And to get help with bags. Getting excited. Please send positive vibes for me to make my connection in CDG with less than two hours and need to go through immigration and change terminals!
  7. We were given number 3300. And thanks for tip to find phone number. Where do I find sticky. Sorry if it is obvious.
  8. We are leaving for Bordeaux from unites stated tomorrow night. Question about where to board since we are on our own to get there. Do you remember if it was quai des chartrons as stated in paperwork and does it make more sense to get to ship around 4 instead of earlier since I read that cabins might the not be ready? Thanks for help
  9. Pontac: thanks so much for guidance, I am sure you are right about enjoying all excursions. We are excited that in one week we will be well on our way and will be experiencing all that you have mentioned. I am going to work on being less controlling and just relax!
  10. thanks so much for all the information. It is so nice to have an idea of what to expect. We arrive a week from today so plenty of time to digest all the info you gave us. We do enjoy wine but also like exploring towns so we will mix it up. Hope you enjoyed your trip even with some of the shortcomings. Can't wait to read your detailed post.
  11. We are going on our first river cruise on the Scenic Diamond in one week. If any one has any suggestions for best excursions at the different ports--St. Emillion, Blaye, Cadillac, Medoc and any general tips or advice please share. We are three generations of women traveling together, 26, 57, and 80 years old. thanks
  12. Hi. My 80 year old mom, 26 year old daughter and I are starting this cruise next Saturday. Any advice is most welcome. We were unable to sign up for any of the bike tours. They were all filled and so were the Culinaraire classes. Do you know if it is possible to sign up when we arrive on the ship? Also are there opportunities to take the bikes and just ride around on your own? Hope you are enjoying the cruise. What is evening entertainment like? Also any input on the different excursions you too would be great. We usually prefer to explore on our own but doesn't seem like that makes sense because of time contraints thanks
