Day 5 was Curacao. Like I mentioned earlier we like to entertain and have an extensive alcohol collection. Our only “non negotiable” for this trip was to go to the distillery in Curacao. We left the ship and grabbed a taxi. It was $20 from the ship to the distillery and took about 15 minutes. We were going to do the guided tour but ended up just doing it on our own. We ended up with 8 bottles of Curacao and also a gift pack up the different flavors for my brother and sister in law who watched our dog for us. Let’s hope we still have 8 unbroken bottles when we get home!
The distillery called a taxi for us and it was another $20 ride back to the ship to drop off our alcohol. We then changed in to our swim suits and back into another $20 taxi ride to Mambo beach.

Ready to lose...
How are you posting photos? Are you using Tapatalk or regular website? When I try it says too large? Are you resizing photos? Thanks.
Sorry we did not get to meet.
Im using tapatalk. It resizes automatically.
Enjoy the next leg of your cruise. I didn’t want to get off but I’m also anxious to get home to see our puppy and granddaughter!

Sorry I’ve fallen behind in posting. We have been going and going from about 8am to 2am every day! I’m going to need another vacation to relax. Tomorrow is our last day and a sea day so hopefully I can get caught up with the review.

Hey Chris,
Keep up the great work and have a great day at Curacao!
In general, are you enjoying the complimentary food (Windjammer/MDR) and entertainment onboard?
Thanks in advance from another Chris :)
We are pretty easy to please food wise so yes, we’ve enjoyed the food so far. Last night I had the turkey in the mdr and it was probably my least favorite meal so far. It was still good, just not great.
Our last cruise was on the Allure and we had so many more options for entertainment so this cruise hasn’t seemed as good. We are really enjoying the piano bar though!

We’ve had towel animals every night except the first.
Today they were selling the 10 drink card
We were talking to one of the bar tenders the other day and he said the majority of people get the drink package. I asked him if he got a portion of the tip and he said the only way they get the tip is if they sell the package. He makes no money off of the drinks he makes for people with a package. I’m still trying to find out if they get to keep the extra tips people give. He just kept sticking them in a glass jar when we gave them to him.

After dinner we went to trivia in the schooner bar and then to the theater for the Jackpot show.
After the show we went back to the Schooner bar for more piano music with Chester. We decided to try our luck in the casino for a little bit and ended up winning just under $500 in about 45 minutes! We decided to leave while we were ahead and ended up going to The Blue Moon for the silent dance party. It was a hoot!
Tomorrow is Curacao!

We left the Solarium about 3 and went to have a small late lunch in the windjammer. It was packed. After eating we went to the ice show and then back to the room to get ready for dinner.
It was the second formal night and we had reservations for 6:30.

Today is a sea day so after sleeping in we made a FaceTime call to our 5 year old granddaughter before she went to school. She had called us last night while we were at the hypnotist show and once that was done she was already asleep. Our oldest daughter and granddaughter live at home with us so our granddaughter is really missing us. We took the two grandkids to Disney last year without their parents so she couldn’t understand why she wasn’t able to go on the cruise with us, too. We have promised her a cruise at some point but we better do it soon before more grandchildren come along! [emoji6]
After talking with her we went to the windjammer for breakfast. It was busy but the tables were cleared quickly once someone got up and we had no problem finding a spot to sit.
After breakfast we went to the Solarium to swim and relax. We were able to find 2 chairs right next to each other with no problem. (11 am) It’s definitely full though!
I know there has been some discussion about the decline in drink servers walking around. It has been quite the opposite on this cruise. There have been drink servers walking past every couple minutes.

After dinner we went to the Hypnotist show in the Lyric theater. It was really funny! After the hypnotist we stayed for the late night adult comedian. Another great show.
After the comedian we went to the schooner bar for another night of piano and singing by Chester. He is really good and we have enjoyed him a lot! Once Chester was done playing for the night we grabbed a slide of pizza at the cafe promenade and then called it a night. Even after our 3 hour nap I still fell right to sleep and slept until 9:30. It’s amazing how tired you can get just by relaxing!

We went to the dining room tonight for dinner. We have my time dining but didn’t make a reservation. We went at 6:50 and were seated right away. We enjoyed everything! And made a reservation for tomorrow night at 6:30 with the same wait staff. Day four is a sea day and the second formal night so we figured it probably would be a good idea to make a reservation.

We really enjoyed our day at Carambola beach club. Brian was able to snorkel and saw tons of fish. The water was so clear and had a nice sandy bottom. There was a dj playing music but it wasn’t so loud that you couldn’t relax or hold a conversation. It’s a little pricey but I wouldn’t hesitate to return on a future visit.
We ordered lunch on the beach. I had the lobster sandwich and Brian ordered a pizza. Both were very good although I think the lobster sandwich could have been better if the roll was toasted a little.
The taxi driver was waiting for us right at our agreed upon time. Once getting back on the ship we went back to the room to clean up and ended up falling asleep for about 3 hours! When we woke up we were already out to see and it was dark outside.
The meet and mingle was tonight at 5pm in Cloud 9. Unfortunately we were sleeping so we missed it.

Thank you so much for your review I’m enjoying it. I will be on Adventure at the end of March next year and had a few questions, I’m assuming you are using Voom how is it working and did you get the surf and stream package? just got off of Allure and had the surf and stream it was excellent. Did you visit any of the clubs especially blue moon on deck 14? If so how is it?
Thank you
Purchased the internet and drink package combo. I think it’s just surf.?. Not really sure. It works fine for the internet. I’ve had a few problems trying to periscope. Sometimes it works great. Other times I can’t get a signal to do it.
We haven’t really checked out anything other than the schooner bar and Gravity the sports bar. We’ve enjoyed both.

We had breakfast in the dining room today. Service was good, food was slow.
We arrived in St. Kitts at 8am and all aboard is 4:30. We took a taxi to Carambola Beach Club. If we had 4 people it would have been $4/person each way. We choose not to wait for another couple so we paid $8/person each way. The driver promised to be back at 2:30 for us. It was about a 10 minute drive and the driver stopped at the overlook so we could get pictures of where the Atlantic (left) and Caribbean (right side) meet. It was so pretty!
At carambola chairs and umbrellas are $10 each. They have food/drink service at the chairs.
WiFi is free!

That sucks to hear that Izumi will be replacing Gravity (sports bar) as I am a huge sports fan. It was nice to catch up on scores and highlights at night after dinner, evening show! Do you know if Royal Caribbean is still planning to stream satellite broadcasts onboard after the drydock is complete in the New Year?
He bar tender told us the games will be on in the Duck and Dog pub. He wasn’t sure how that would work since it’s such a small venue.

After dinner we went back to the sports bar to watch the Packer game. They had Canadian football on so we went over to the Duck and Dog pub. They had the game on the tv, but they also had a guitar player playing at the same time. We decided to go back to the room and watch the game in bed. Unfortunately the game didn’t end how I would have liked [emoji22]
Tomorrow St. Kitts!

Dinner in Chops was really good but I felt the service was much better in Giovanni’s last night. This didn’t have an affect on my service assessment but our server kept calling me Michelle every time she came to the table. I never corrected her because she would say it so quietly at first I wasn’t positive that’s what she was saying. Towards the end of the meal Brian was picking it up too and then it kinda just became a joke between us.

Satellite came back on after sail away so we were able to watch the Raider game in the sports bar. (The sports bar will be changing to Izumi during drydock in January)
As soon as the game was done we ran up to our room to change for our 8:45 reservation at Chops.

Thanks for the St Thomas report. Were cabs readily available? We are hoping to go to Sapphire beach when we are there in December. Thanks.

Mambo beach was beautiful! We were in front of the Madero Ocean Club and lounge chairs were $9/each and that included a bottle of water. They never charged us the beach fee.
The beach was a very soft white sand and absolutely beautiful!
There was a shopping area and multiple places to get food.
