Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We are doing B2B NY to Quebec and Quebec to NY. What is PVSA? We'll be docking in Quebec for 2 days before heading back to NY.
  2. Hello, We are US citizens with US passports. We'll be sailing on NCL Joy back to back from NY to Quebec (9/4 to 9/13/2023) and from Quebec (9/13 to 9/20/202) back to New York. Do we need visas to visit Canada? We are a bit confuse since we just got this email from NCL. Thanks! August 28, 2023 Dear Valued Guest, On behalf of Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), we thank you for your loyalty and for making us your vacation of choice. We have important information regarding your upcoming voyage. In advance of your cruise vacation, we want to ensure that you are fully aware of the local travel requirements for entry into Canada. If arriving to, or transiting through, Canada by plane many nationalities need an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) or Visitor Visa that must be applied for in advance of arrival. For guests arriving to Canada by cruise ship, only a Visitor Visa is required of many nationalities. To check requirements for individual nationalities, and for further information, we strongly recommend all guests visit https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/visas.asp as soon as possible, in order to allow enough time for any required applications. Failure to provide the required visas and documentation will result in denial of boarding for your cruise and the inability to extend any refund of your cruise fare. For more information on the required documentation to sail, please visit www.ncl.com/traveldocs. As a reminder it is your responsibility to ensure you have the necessary documentation and/or visas for your itinerary.
  3. Hello, Anyone knows what is the right train station name for the Civitavecchia port train station on this website https://www.trenitalia.com/en.html to go to Rome? It has 3 stations to choose when I put in Civitavecchia. 1) Civitavecchia ( Tutte Le Stazioni ) or 2) Civitavecchia Porto or 3) Civitavecchia Do I choose Civitavecchia? Thanks!
  4. Thanks all and I'll look into all the useful info and suggestions. It seems there isn't much in this small town unless we booked tours. I think we probably go for the calm water Kayaking. Since we'll be disembarked in Reykjavik 2 days after Isafjordur and hire an mid size SUV for 10 days to drive the ring roads. We can extent our stay in Iceland for as long as we want since we both retirees. Has anyone driven from Reykjavik to the Westfjords in June and was it easy to drive there? I read the Westfjords drive could be very rugged to Dynjandi waterfall and we'll be driving from May 26th from Reykjavik to the Southern Region so by the time we get to Akureyri, it'll be the first week of June. The drive from Akureyri to Dynjandi is about 6 hours give or take or are there ferries get close to Dynjandi? We then stay in the Westfjords for about 3 days before heading back to Reykjavik only the Westfjords drive is doable in early June. Thanks!
  5. Hello All, We'll be transatlantic on the NCL Prima in May out of New York and arriving in Isafjordur cruise port on May 23rd. Anyone knows how far is the cruise port from town and are there any tours offer at the pier? We'll be doing 10 days self drive golden ring road after we disembarked in Reykjavik on May 25th but skipping the Westfjords since we're not comfortable in driving the rugged roads. Thanks!
  6. Get the Yellow Fewer vaccine if you're under 60 years old. We did that last month and it's good for life. Costs 180 bucks.
  7. The visa is free? Is said 20 AUD for a visa here. Is this the right visas to apply?
  8. Hello and Happy New Year! Do cruise passengers need visas to visit Australia ports if we're on the world cruise out of New York vs. cruising out of Sydney? If so, how fast can you get the visas and how far in advance should we apply? Also, does Cunard provide visas if you use their excursions? Thanks!
  9. I see, so as direct in the statement. Show the negative test, use the cell phone to show the date and time along with a government ID. Take a photo with all the pieces together than that's it. Sounds too easy but I am happy with it. Thanks, Tony
  10. Hello All, We'll be sailing on the Queen Victoria from New York to Sydney on January 20, 2023 and a bit confuse about self testing before boarding in New York. According to the Cunard website: The following formats are acceptable proofs of a negative Covid-19 test: For Rapid Antigen Test (RAT)/Lateral Flow results: One (1) photo which shows all together the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT)/Lateral Flow negative test result, government issued photo ID (such as a driver’s license) a clock displaying the time (e.g. a watch, mobile phone, wall clock) and date of testing written on a piece of paper. Ensure that you have this photo with you as you may be asked to show it upon request. So my question is we don't need a paid approved negative test documents from a pharmacy and just doing our own tests with the government provided antigen test kits. After completed the 15 minutes tests, follow the Cunard guidelines above and bring them to New York port and that'd it? Seems too easy and saved a 138 bucks for 2 tests. These are the government provided tests we'll be using. Thanks, Tony.
