They really couldn’t have been nicer!

Took a cruise on the Carnival Breeze in January, and our room steward asked if we preferred morning or night. I actually love that they are only cleaning once a day because it’s always so awkward if you get back and they are still in your room. I don’t know how many rooms our steward had to clean but I know she was a super busy lady and a hard worker. We pre-paid our gratuities, but I left her some extra money. Carnival really does have wonderful crew members.

Thanks for all the responses. I really enjoyed reading them! Sorry to just reply, but I’ve had a bit of real world stuff going on. Anyway! I made it on the cruise. It helped that I had the photo of my ID that I printed out and I also showed her clearer version on my phone. I was super nervous, but she was super nice!! Had a great time, but I don’t know if I will cruise Carnival again. The crew and especially the cruise director were awesome. The food was decent, and our room was clean and cozy. It was the passengers who left a lot to be desired. We saw a physical fight between two women one day. That was crazy. One night around 3am, we were woken up by two people screaming at each other. Another night, a lady wore her Carnival robe with a shower cap to the Atrium bar. I can’t make this stuff up, people. Maybe that can happen on any cruise, but I’ve got two cruises planned for RCL and one for NCL so that I can try something different. I hope the passenger experience is better. I’m really excited about my NCL cruise because it’s the first time I’m going to cruise alone. I’m staying in one of their studio staterooms and I’m hoping to meet some nice people. Oh, and of course my new drivers license was here waiting when I got back! I’m still planning on getting a passport, though.

I leave Monday and my new license still hasn’t arrived. I checked the TDS website and it says it was mailed January 10th, but it’s not going to make it on time. I talked to two carnival agents and both said I would be okay with what I have but I’m still super worried. They did let me change out the passenger, so my friend is coming with me, but if we can’t get on the ship, I’m just going to rent a house in Galveston and we’ll stay there for a few days.

I live in Houston, and they do not print your picture on DL's here. Wish they did! I did a lot of research last night. No matter how you order the replacement, whether it's online or at the DPS, they don't give you your brand-new license the same day. You get a paper one that's good for 60 days, so I just ordered it online. The carnival agent said I will be able to use my documents, so I'm hoping like heck!

Eli, you are my driver's license soul mate. LOL And yeah, two ID's is a big no no. However, I called Carnival and with what I have, (my temporary paper license, a high-quality photo of the unexpired license I lost, and my birth certificate) the agent said I will be able to get on the ship. I'm happy, but still a little skeptical. I probably won't really believe it until I'm on the ship, pina colada in hand. I just have to say you guys are wonderful. Thanks for taking your time out of your day to answer my question...the dumb girl who's always losing or throwing important things away. 🤣 I truly should live in a bubble.

If I had a passport, I'd probably have lost that, too! I swear, it seems like every important vacation I've gone on, something has happened. One time I accidentally threw away our plane tickets and this was when it wasn't so easy to get new ones. 🥵

Thanks again! You’re very kind. I don’t blame them one bit for not refunding the cost of the cruise. I should have booked through them. Lesson learned about purchasing a non-refundable ticket though!
