    Completely incorrect.

$300 down on the ship goes towards your 20% deposit. You will still have the pay the balance of your deposit when you book the cruise.

    $300 off the cruise fare

    $600 Sailor Loot.

BUT the MNVV is going to change by the end of January. No clue what the changes will be but we expect the $600 Sailor Loot is going to be reduced.

Thanks for clarifying!  I must be misreading your earlier post.

This can happen if you have two Sailor IDs which many people have. An ID is created when you book your first cruise but some people don't realize that and create a second one. Or they created one before their first cruise and don't tell their TA or Sailor Services agent. That can and does create problems logging in sometimes.  You can ask your TA or Sailor Services if you do have two IDs and ask for them to be merged.  Usually takes 24 - 48 hours.

Thanks.  I'll call in and see if they can fix it.  I've been on two VV with no issues.  This just popped up this week; not sure why they would have created a second account for me but I'll see if that is a fix.

Ugh--sorry. I assume you have tried a different browser, using incognito mode for the web account? And for the app, uninstalling and reinstalling?

I have done all of those... I was thinking it was system wide, but apparently it is just me!

  4. I haven't been able to log into my account for the past 24+ hours.  Anyone else having this issue?

    I get the following error:

Can't log into the app either.  Wonder if it just my account or the whole system?

Not true.  You get $300 off your cruise fare.  The $300 you pay for the MNVV can be used for deposit, and you get $600 Loot.

Example....You buy MNVV for $300.  You book a cruise that has a price of $4000.  Your cruise price is immediately discounted to $3700 ($300 off) and that makes your deposit $740 (20% of $3700).  The $300 is applied to the deposit, meaning that you would pay $440 at the time of booking or $3400 if you wanted to pay in full at that time ($3400 + the $300 paid for the certificate = $3700)

SO the benefit of the certificate is $300 off cruise fare + $600 loot.  I don't know if the 10% PIF still applies.  If it does and you opt to PIF, your cruise fare would discount another $370.  Note, price percentage reductions do not apply to taxes.

Similarly, in your example above, you are correct.  $300 paid for MNVV, $300 discount, $400 paid at time of booking = $1000 AND you'd get $600 loot.

Thank you!  I'm just surprised that the TWO VV phone reps couldn't figure this out...

No. It is a $300 fare reduction.  But it may feel like $600 because you have prepaid $300 toward the deposit.  If the fare now is $2,000, the fare you pay is $1,700. But also you have a $300 credit toward the deposit and get the $600 OBC.

    Sorry, I'm confused.

So if the fare is $1000.

I've already paid $300 for the MNVV.  Then I get $300 off the fare.

So I would only be paying $400 additional (beyond what I already put down) for the cruise, correct?

    $400 paid now

$300 paid previously on the cruise

    $300 discount

    =$1000

Not true. If you bought on board, the $300 you paid now becomes your deposit on your next cruise, then on top of that you get $300 off the price of the next cruise, then you get $600 on board credit too.

Thank you, that is what I thought.

I just spoke to two different VV phone reps.  Both quoted me with only a $300 reduction.  Hopefully it is just an IT issue (I can't even view my account right now).  I'll try again tomorrow.

It is confusing when people assume "$600 off" the cruise fare, it is not.

$300 paid to purchase the MNVV. This is applied to your 20% deposit. If your 20% deposit is $450 you will only pay $150 at the time of booking.

$300 off the Cruise Fare.  If your cruise fare is listed as $2300 you will pay $2000.

$600 in Sailor Loot. This sailor loot is combinable with most TA offerings and most Virgin Voyages offerings such as the $300 - $600 Bar Tab.

A lot of people get confused and assume it's $600 Off the cruise fare. It is not. It's $300 total off the cruise fare with your $300 initial payment going towards your deposit.

    Wow, is this correct?

So by doing MNVV, you actually get NO discount off the fare?

I'm paid $300 while on board for my MNVV.  So I don't get any discount on the cruise fare?  It is just a $300 deposit with $600 Sailor Loot?

So the only benefit of MNVV is $600 Sailor Loot?

Ive been following the arrival of Resilient Lady in Australia and particularly Melbourne where we are embarking for a sample cruise shortly . What a debarcle for all .

We have sailed with Princess , P&0 and Carnival out of melbourne and no problems at all , drop bags , enter terminal up to checkin and on - quick and efficiently handled . Virgin have failed miserably here and their checkin procedures are ridiculous , even with Richard up and down the lines in the rain apologising .  Before you flame away here please read the posts Resilient Lady- Virgin Voyages on Facebook .Virgin Voyages -  First and last with Virgin for us .

I don't have Facebook.  Care to share what went so wrong??

  10. I am looking at booking the 2-night cruise out of Melbourne on December 21.  I am guessing that this is aimed at Australian media to create buzz about VV arriving down under.  Have there been 2 night cruises in the past?  Has anyone been on one and willing to share what it is like?

For example, is there still Scarlet Night?  I'm assuming they have to cut a number of the shows and experiences.

It seems like a pretty good deal.  I can get a Balcony room for about $800 USD.  I have a MNVV so I would be paying $200 out of pocket after the $300 deposit + $300 off.  I'd get $600 loot from MNVV, plus $200 loot from a survey, plus $100 beverage credit from Deep Blue Extras.

I might even pay an extra $250 to get a Rockstar Suite just for kicks.

  11. I have a casino booking that is only going to charge me about $300.  Thinking of buying $600 in pre-paid onboard credit plus pre-pay gratuities to get to the $1,000 level.

I'll let you all know if it works.  I did something similar with an Amex Offer on NCL earlier this year and it worked fine.

I just don't know if I'll be able to cash out the pre-paid onboard credit if I don't use it.  Anyone know about this?  Maybe I could use the pre-paid onboard credit at the casino?

It’s not a big deal.  Who cares?

I filled it out and I care.  I would like my $200.  And I'm guessing it matters to the original post in this thread.  And others.

  13. I am trying a few but not seeing the bar tab included even on the dates that are advertised.  Anyone having any luck with getting it?

EDIT: Now I am seeing it.  Looks like one of the sailings I'm interested in includes $300 Bar Tab.  Plus $100 for Deep Blue Extras.  Not sure I could spend $400 on drinks for a 5 night cruise 🤢

  14. I've been on two Virgin Voyages and Gunbae is the only restaurant I haven't tried (well, and also the Sun Club Cafe).  Being a solo traveler; it just doesn't appeal to me.  The only way it would be attractive to me is if I was sailing with 5 others so we could have our own table.  Dining that close with others in a forced interactive mode doesn't appeal to me.

  15. I am looking at using a My Next Virgin Voyage deposit on the Brilliant Lady maiden voyage.  However, I am wondering what happens if it gets cancelled because of a delay in the ship delivery?

Any ideas or historical data on what happens if you use a MNVV and then the sailing is cancelled?

    Thanks!
