Well I for one appreciate any and all the knowledge placed on this site. I have never been on a cruise and will be on my first one next month. I didn't even know you could get perks with booking via a TA I didn't know you could choose your own cabin position. I was looking at the Oceania web site next thing I got a phone call from a personal consultant and ended up booking the cruise. I was given the cabin B3 no idea if its in a good or bad position. As a result of joining this forum I will do things differently next time (if their is one all depends how it goes!) but reading about FCC, booking on board etc is all so very helpful and its somewhere I can go to get advice/help so well done all and thanks. I am in UK.

I got onto the Oceania site at 4.01am gmt (12.01am USA ET) slight delay due to technical issues(404) this was 45 days before 11 May sailing as I am B2. Only three restaurants available no red ginger either private or sharing have checked each day since and still no red ginger I assume there are no vacancies. Sent a message to Oceania but no response although I wasn't expecting one as they have never responded to any message sent!! Guess I will try when on board.

As I started this thread I thought I would update it. Turkish Airlines and BA would not accept just the locator for seat selection but I got my ticket numbers 60 days before the cruise and then was able to select seats. Unfortunately Turkish Airlines do not allow passengers over 65 years to sit in extra leg room seats at emergency exits but BA did. Considering the flights are only 8/9 weeks away there were a lot of spare seats so my anxiety was probably unfounded! Another lesson learnt. I have to say that I have learnt so much reading the comments on this forum so thanks everyone!

Thanks for the heads up Ronni7770. I will make sure its sorted well before my cruise date. That would certainly make me think before using O Air again but l guess for now I will give them a chance!! As this is our first ever cruise I played safe booking everything through Oceania.

Hi all. My wife and I are booked on Vista, Istanbul - Rome in May 24. This is our first cruise ever, Oceania was recommended to us and we are looking forward to it and this forum has been invaluable thank you. Just a quick question which may sound dumb but I just haven't got my head around it. I booked direct with Oceania B2 cabin sm and included air fare. Normally when I book a holiday, usually a year or more in advance, I can choose my seats which I do at time of booking usually extra leg room. I now have my flight details but am unable to select seats because I do not have a ticket. To obtain a ticket early I have to agree to 'no refund whatsoever'. My wife suffers from a flying phobia so we need to sit together I am concerned that leaving it so late we may not get seats together. Anyone able to advise or have experience we are flying in and out of London Heathrow. Sorry for long message and thank you.
