  1. I wish our no tagged bag had been taken to a separate room. One of our bags had the tag ripped off last year, when it didn't show up at our room we went to guest services and were pointed to a pile of bags over by the excursion brochures and told to grab ours if we found it. Nothing missing thankfully but I was a little peeved they were just sitting around in the open for anybody to grab.

Just put of curiosity, how is this any different than you bags just sitting around a big room when you get of the ship? Anyone can ALWAYS grab one.

  2. I dont think Honey Stung Chicken is available anywhere on any Royal ship anymore. I know its still listed on the room service menu  We were brought chicken tenders.

Yes. It is definitely not the same. I ordered it on Freedom and what I received were 3 very dry and very tough pieces of chicken with no flavor. I couldn't even cut it. I'll stick to the burgers or the cheese plate in the future.

  3. I'm with alfaeric, using the pool or hot tub is a valid reason to have your stuff on a chair. You're not going to drop your book and clothes on the floor and have them be wet when you get out. One chair is sufficient to keep my stuff dry though, I don't need multiple chairs :)

I agree. But after 30 minutes or more that need becomes a luxury. No need for that at all. My suggestion? Perhaps a little Mineral Ice, Icy Hot or Ben Gay on the towels. Just a suggestion.

  4. I totally agree, people who pose the question about getting non eligible people into the DL or CL know they shouldn't but hope to learn how others do get people in anyway.

To those people they want rules not to apply to them. Often times however, when something that they have earned, is given unfairly to someone who has not earned it (and that person is NOT in their group or party) they will be the first to complain.

I always remember our very first cruise, when we were cruising with friends who were experienced cruisers and had perks we did not have. WE had NO problem being unable to accompany them to some events. We have earned our own benefits now, and can enjoy them together.

I do agree that some people do exactly what you are stating. They are simply trying to find a way around the rules that RCI has set in place. However, there are those who simply post a question because they want information. They may not actually know the exact rules and come to the boards seeking to have their questions answered. After all...isn't that what the boards are for? People wanting to share information for those who are not as knowledgeable? I'm not trying to sound critical, but perhaps the picture should not be painted with such a broad brush. Just my opinion, of course. Happy cruising to you!

  5. What happens if I one person is a Diamond Club member and the person sharing the cabin is not? Will both be allowed access to the club when coming together?

Again, the answer is no. I have sailed that way many times in the past. I was a platinum and my roommate was a Diamond Plus. Although the luggage tags had me as a D+ (the reservation was in her name), my key did not operate the lounge door like my roommate's did. In addition, they were checking names against a list and I was not on it.

  6. First time in an owners suite in a couple weeks on the Adventure of the Seas. Will we have access the Diamond Lounge on the 14th deck or just the concierge lounge on deck 9?

Just a personal feeling, for years suites argued that they should get additional perks by getting a special lounge. Well RCI took care of that for them by giving the CL access and that is great. They deserve it. But now it seems that some suites want more. The Diamond Lounge is for Diamond and above C&A guests based on their history with RCI. Personally, I feel that that lounge should be geared more towards the history a passenger has with RCI rather than how much they can spend by getting a suite. Just my opinion, of course, and I do expect flaming. :p

  7. Is this accurate?

    Per the Disney Website:

While adult Guests ages 21 and older may bring alcohol onboard, the following guidelines apply:

Alcohol brought on board may not be consumed in any lounge or public area.

Guests who arrive in the dining room with a bottle of champagne or wine that has been brought on board will be charged a corking fee of $20.00 per bottle.

Beverages must be packed in your carry-on bag—which must not exceed 22 inches wide, 14 inches high and 9 inches deep in dimension

Coolers filled with personal items (e.g. soda, alcohol, chips, candy, etc.) may not be brought on board.

  8. Check out the Raddison at the port. The pool is excellent for the kids. There is tennis and several other activities. Plus transport to the pier for a fee. It is our go to place. If you want a cheap breakfast, there is a mc donalds in walking distance.

Zachary's, a small Greek restaurant, is also right there at the Radisson. They have great breakfasts and food and their baklava is to die for!!! I also vote for the Radisson. Great pool area and a shuttle that takes you directly to the port and back. Go for it!!!

  9. Just as a warning, I, too, have brought on a few bottle of water and V-8 in Port Canaveral with no problem. However, on more than one occasion I have seen the Port Authority open pre-shrunk 24 packs to make sure those in the middle only contain water (they shake them to check). That leaves you trying to juggle 24 loose bottles of water to your cabin. They do NOT re-tape it for you!

  10. I had a similar experience early in November and again just now when I printed the Set Sail. What I had to do both times times was when I completed the process as the C&A level was not indicated, I closed it out and when back in again to print the SS pass. When the doc came up to print, the C&A level was indicated. Just another added level of intrigue brought to you by the RCI IT department;)!

Thanks for the suggestion. Printed the SS pass yesterday and there was no indication of status. Tried again today and the little blue "D" is there now. Strange!

  11. I just upgraded from Promenade to balcony for $58! 🎉🎊

Also, the shipyard was always scheduled after this cruise. The shipyard probably does not have the space to bring the ship in early. Therefore, they have try to make the best of things. BTW, I used work in ocean going shipping, I experienced with how shipyards work. 😉

Thanks for the info. I used to work on a cruise ship but was not involved with the shipyard procedures for dry-dock. Being Asst. CD, I was more involved with the passengers and entertainment. We left the ship procedures to the Captain and crew.
