  1. Ah the Costa Classica....I loved that ship. The maiden Voyage was a rocky start, but at least she was of the Old Costa, not the Joe farcus idea of Italian design.

Classica...Euroluxe she wasn't but so different. The Lobby...spectacular.

And I had such a good time on that ship...;) ;) ;)

I miss the old Costa......the last Costa ship I sailed on was the Atlantica...and it was "the last".....hated it. Now the Victoria....now that ship has stories to tell.......ooo la la.

    La Doce Vita!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

It was a great ship. I was the Assistant CD on the Maiden Voyage and, you're right, there was a bit of a rocky start. It was the first time they tried the "Euroluxe Cruising" idea. The people, however, wanted the old "Cruising Italian Style". The best part was getting to live in a chalet in Venice for about 3 weeks before she was ready to set sail. I was also fortunate enough to have been able to go to Barcelona for the Olympics and Seville for the World's Fair. Ahh....memories ;) (and believe me, the Classica has stories to tell as well)
  2. Not one of the Naples area bunch (live in Kissimmee, myself), but it is a very beautiful area and I'm sure you're gonna love living there. Welcome to FL. I'll be taking a couple of cruises this year. On 05/16/08, I'll be taking a short Sovereign cruise. She is always great for little quick cruises and I'm going to miss her when she leaves us. The other is on another ship Port Canaveral will be losing...The Mariner. I'll be sailing her on 09/21/08. Any family cruisers taking either of those?? Would love to hear from you!

  3. Hi! A Floridian?!?! Wow... We'll, I've live in Orlando 7 yrs and Winter Park 3 1/2 yrs. I just booked my first "real" cruise! I use the term real, because the only other cruise I've been on is a 3 day Bahama's. So, anyway, It's the NCL-Gem, on May 11, from Barcelona! The prices are great for a Mediteranian Cruise. I wish I could do the Mariner Western- I know allot of the guys in OGC. I used to also bowl on the gay league, but, taking this season off. We're going to have a group of 8-10 probably, at least that is what everyone is saying now. You know how everyone changes there minds! ha! ttys- Tom:D

Small world, Tom. I also bowled on the gay league for a few years at Aloma. Perhaps we bowled against each other. I was with Robb and Tim and good friends with PJ and Mark. Any of those names ring a bell? The friends from OGC are going on the December 3-nighter, not the Mariner. Talk to you soon!! Freddie

  4. Anyone in the Orlando area?

Another Winter Park guy here! Florida born (Sanford) and raised. I just got back last month from the Mariner of the Seas Eastern and loved it so much that next Sept. I'll be doing the Mariner Western. Of course...that's too long to wait so I went ahead and booked the Sovereign of the Seas for Dec 14, 2007. It was a great deal and, departing from Port Canaveral, it's really close to drive to! Some of my friends from the Orlando Gay Chorus will be doing that one as well!!

You're right, FLSpeedo...there ARE a lot of Central Floridians!!

  5. Hey, all. I just booked for the 09/16/07 Eastern cruise on the Mariner and I have selected room 7506. The others in this category were on deck 2 and I wanted something higher up. It's at the front of the ship so the portholes look out under the bridge.

Has anyone had one of these cabins before? It's a different shape (pie shaped) but actually looks a little bigger than the others. Also, do the ceds seperate like the other cabins?

Thanks in adavnce for any information. Happy cruising!!!!!
