  1. Unfortunately, comparing one random booking with another one, months apart, without considering anything but price and included alcohol, means absolutely nothing. …Other than making ppl feel warm and fuzzy about sticking with Celebrity. Which is the reason most are here. Still not sure why they call this place cruise critic.
  2. Yes, it was only an issue on embarkation day. Once the cabin cooled down it held the temp well enough.
  3. Further up in this topic, there was a detailed reason for this phenomenon given by someone with direct experience with this issue. He states it's a byproduct of repairing leaking pipes, and the discoloration is not harmful.
  4. Good to know you can still eat well if you pay a bit extra. Next time it will be aqua class or bust for me.
  5. I hope you asked for well done. That may be the saddest baked potato I’ve ever seen
  6. This sounds like the logical response. No one is telling anyone that they have to hate the food. We get it, you like the food, even with the recent change. What we’re trying to do is discuss the fact that options are less, and quality has gone down. This is valuable information for most cruisers. Also keep in mind most complaints are about the recent trends in the MDR and OVC. If you’re eating in blu or luminae, or if you haven’t sailed in 2023, you may have a totally separate experience.
  7. OVC usually offered some decent broccoli near the carving station.
  8. Facts are facts. You’re paying more money than ever for a downgraded product. Even if you enjoy the deteriorating food, don’t expect others to.
  9. The Equinox did offer some hot sauces in the OVC, found next to the carving station.
  10. I was on the April 24 Equinox sailing. CD was Lewis, a charismatic younger Brit. AM’s name was Mariana, I think. Both seemed very nice.
  11. You took me saying ‘being thrown into a dish’ literally? Wasn’t trying to mislead. I was not in kitchen watching the food prep. But a frozen pea/carrot/corn/green bean mix is obvious to spot.
  12. exactly. My point wasn’t that mixed veggies are bad, just more evidence of cost cutting.
  13. im not sure what your point is. who cares where they come from. they are using low quality frozen 'mixed vegetables' in dishes.
  14. It seemed like a lot of bulk frozen stuff was being used. Can’t tell you how many times I saw frozen “mixed veggies”, the bagged stuff from the supermarket, being thrown into a dish.
  15. I think if you’re easy going about things like food being overcooked, you’ll probably enjoy the buffet just fine. A lot of people go easy on salt and seasoning. I’d consider unseasoned stuff bland, but others will enjoy it. For breakfast I enjoyed the omelet station, the waffles, and limitless fruit. The fruit quality wasn’t great though. for lunch, I enjoyed the pizza and Indian food, along with some stews. For me, after my recent trip, the first meal back home was far more satisfying than anything I had in the buffet or MDR. When I’m on vacation, I want to eat better than at home. Food is so subjective.
  16. I got the impression that you can order as many apps you want, but are urged to only get one entree, since many of them require a table Side preparation
  17. Oh it sounds like you had anytime. No queues for our early dinner time slot.
  18. Between drinking for free in the casino, and all the generous bartenders who saw our absent package as an opportunity to make a nightly handshake tip…. Well let’s just say I didnt need the package to enjoy free drinks. And we were given better service. Just throwing that out there. Results may vary.
  19. If you’re more worried about the line than the poor food, then rest easy: we never experienced a line for the MDR.
  20. Just got back from 10 days on the Equinox. Buffet was serviceable. Decent Indian food. Very lacking in desserts. Mostly cheap little square cakes of varying flavors. Carving station fare was inedibly overcooked and dry. Tried the beef, pork, and turkey. No decent seafood. The best stuff was stewed or covered in sauces so they didn’t overcook as much. Specialty dining was fantastic. Tried Tuscan and Murano and both were great. MDR was abysmal. Terrible selection most nights. NY ‘steak’ instead of NY strip. Steaks were tough, pork was beyond overcooked. Fish tasted fishy. Duck was gamey with limp rubbery skin. Tried a duck pate that smelled like dog food. Shrimp cocktail was on par with a party platter from Walmart. Not a single standout dish in 6 or so dinners, except for a very tasty steak tartare appetizer. I guess it’s impossible to overcook something raw. So, I urge everyone who cares about this kind of stuff to spend the extra cash and avoid the MDR at all costs. From what I’ve seen most ppl enjoy Blu. Go aqua class or bust.
  21. Thank you! And remember your cell phone is your biggest friend. When they were stonewalling, they actually asked if we had video, after seeing photos. Record any major issue with photos and video.
  22. Thank you for posting, and congrats on winning the brown water lottery also! Maybe we’ll get some casino points 🙂
  23. My wife and I both ordered the surf and turf. We both got a full lobster, and split a full chateubriand for 2. so yes, same portions at the same time
