I Wonder (haha) if the price of the water park at Cococay is partially based on the number of ships in port.  More ships = more demand = higher price.  I see that Wonder is at Cococay solo for two days in February and shares the port two other days in Feb.

I will be at Cococay in Sept with only one ship in port and the price was $130/pp

Honestly it looks to me like price is based on ship and rates that ship charges. People pay more for Wonder and Icon so they charge more for all the additional cost items. This is based on everyone's posts/stories. Serenade always less then Voyager, Voyager less than Oasis, Wonder and Icon a category on to themselves etc. Internet, beverage, dine plan, all seem to follow this logic.

Class of ship = Base price and price of add on based on the level of base price.

I've been to the waterpark at Coco Cay twice...both times it was $80-$90.

We're going on the Wonder in Feb and the price is $160, which is insane. I've been watching for the last couple months and the price has not dropped. Anybody else seeing that price, or is it just b/c we're going on the Wonder?

Price is by ship. Wonder and Icon will be higher price than others. Don't expect a big drop. If black Friday it drops to $130pp I would be surprised. $80 or $90 ain't gonna happen.

My Wonder this past May was $168pp.

Thank you RyderJ201!  It worked on the planner indeed.  I didn’t think of the planner and was just driving myself crazy trying to place the order.

Your welcome. At first I didn't realize you were using the app. I never use the app for purchases. It's just too buggy. Royal is notorious for bad IT. Lol

When I tried to add the Evian bottled water to the cart, there’s no option to select 12 or 24 bottles. Is it the same price for 12 and 24?  Or are the bottle sizes different?

OK. I get the same thing. You go all the way to final step and still don't get to pick 12 or 24.

  5. OK. Maybe not the most PC thing or whatever but...It helps when the customer service agents are in the same part of the world as you and speak the same language.

Also, I use to work for a company in the travel business. When you have staff that take calls in this county you encourage "fam" trips at discounted rates for your employees. They get a trip at a really good price and learn first hand how the product works. This really help cust serv reps and customers speak the same language. Trip, add ons, insurance, etc. They get it. They live it. Things get lost in translation when the reps don't really live in the same world. There just is a lack of "ah, I get what your saying, looking for, concerned about, try to change, etc.

  6. Just any travel insurance not attached to your reservation that you can manage individually is a step up. It's clear changing the booking got the insurance messed up by a 3rd rate Royal Caribbean "Customer Service" rep. The same folks who said husband could get on in Florida and off in NJ. They only know the very very few things they are taught. And that ain't much. You were well within your right to assume you still had insurance on at least the original 3 pax.

  7. It's yet another good reason for people to not cheap out and avoid buying insurance. To know your sick, have insurance, and still go someplace I just don't think is cool. Also, who wants to go when you feel like crap. Get the insurance $$$ and do over. But based on this situation, another reason to buy your travel insurance on your own. Royal "mistakes" are constant.

  8. The info you get on this and the other site (don't think I can say it's name here) is 100% more accurate then the "help" Royal hires to take calls. There info is almost always wrong. In my experience anyway.

So glad you listened about the pvsa. His trip to Florida would have been for nothing. Again, another example of us knowing more than the 3rd rate overseas cheap help Royal employs.

I personally have zero experience with the 5 day before travel covid refund still being in effect. If that too was false information in the end, fight, fight, fight.

Start planning next time now. Bigger and better. Try booking 12 months or more in advance for best rates. Also don't buy insurance from Royal. If you did it separately on your own you would still have it after you made the change. More control when you book it yourself.

Bigger and better. Which ship? Let's start planning!

At the time the ship arrives in Florida it would not have visited a foreign port...but it will after.

Again if he can't he cant.  it would suck but it felt like the best option under the circumstances.

Look up pvsa. The fact that he would start in Florida but end in NJ would be the problem. Nothing to do with foreign ports.

If you only bought a one way ticket for him to Florida and he can't get on, then you have to spend more to fly him home. Maybe he just sit this one out? Cut your losses on his trip?

Yes I understand.  The bottom line is if he can't board he'll have to head home.

What doesn't make sense is if people misses boarding for whatever reason...they'd have to get to the ship on their own dime. They're minimizing risk...i get it. So if he has to take a covid test then he will... but it's really no different from people missing their ship and using insurance to catch up. Except we're not using insurance.

They don't allow the catch up with the ship on your own dime anymore. And they never were crazy about it in the first place. Did it multiple times. (Don't ask)

My guess is it's because there is paperwork/computer work and mostly you have to be escorted. I guess they just don't have the man power these days. They really use to hate doing it for me.

A no go in what way?

I called RCCL yes. I asked what would happen if someone missed the embarkation but could feasibly meet us/the ship in Florida.   I was told that immediately upon said person missing sailaway, I should go to guest services to advise them so that they can give me instructions on how they can board at a different port.   If she had told me he couldn't we'd have canceled.

If he gets there and is turned away all I can do is deal with it

They stopped allowing this. You can Google it. Downlining a Royal Caribbean cruise.
