Currently the CDC guidelines are that anyone that has been out of the country less than 14 days before the cruise must get a covid test. Since NCL is currently testing everyone at embarkation you should be fine.

When we were on the Bliss in 2019 the race track was 15$ for a 10 minute ride. They were having problems with 2 cars and it did not look fun so we never tried it. We are on the Bliss again in December so we might try it then. The Bliss is a lovely ship but the pool and deck are tiny. We spent most of our time in the spa and observation deck

I think there is more to the lite bookings than just vaccinated/unvaccinated and no children. Most of the people around me are not willing to cruise any time soon regardless of the vaccinated status on a ship. The majority just aren’t going. I’m not sure vaccinated status has much impact. Those who are willing to go are but the majority aren’t.

I am ready. I wear a mask at work every day I can wear one at ports. I wore a mask when we went to Las Vegas in April. It wasn’t as fun as it could have been but it was fine. I have so much leave I need to use up. I have decided I can make my next cruises work

So far only those who need a covid test to re-enter their country needs a post cruise covid test. Other cruise lines have different policies depending on departure ports. It’s all so very fluid right now

We're using NCL air and transfers on the 8/15 Gem. We still had to select a check-in time when finishing online check-in.
Thanks for letting me know I am curious how this will work as well.

The US CDC card has no place for signatures or a signature requirement. Only a space to list the provider or clinic which may be printed not necessarily signed. Not sure about other countries.
my vaccination card is signed by the nurse next to each lot number. That is how it was done in my state and county. Everyplace has a method.

Got everything finished but it never gave me an option to choose a check in time. Edocs are ready to print but does not have a check in time leaving august 14…..???
Are you using NCL air and/or transfers? I have no idea how it is being done now but in the past if you are on a transfer provided by NCL you won't have a check in time since they know when you will be arriving. They keep a very detailed list.

Everyone seems to forget that NCL said it would take 90 days to get ships up and ready and honestly the August cruises are really at about 90 days from when the CDC said cruising could possibly start toward the end of May. I think expectations are a little too high for what has been a very difficult year and a half.

I sail in 52 days. Final payment was made on day 61. Still no flight details. Domestic. In hindsight I wish I had not selected air through NCL. Even at 52 days it would not have been much more expensive to book the flights of my choice separately. This is solo though. BOGO probably would've been a different story.
It’s not unusual to get flights around 45 days out we had one flight show up at 30 days. It is so much cheaper for us to use NCL it’s worth the little annoyances

I don’t think there will be a lot of interest in an Alaskan cruise in October and I don’t think NCL is booking full ships until after October 31st. A few more things to think about

I listened to a dept of health brief in my state yesterday they are expecting vaccines to be available for under 12 late fall October or November. I can only assume they know as this was referring to primary school safety

I have an excellent PCC he is very knowledgeable, loves to cruise and keeps us up to date on everything. He notifies us if there are changes and he’s very honest about what is going on.

I wonder how passengers who are being picked up by NCL at their hotel for transportation to the terminal will know what time to choose for boarding?
In the past those on NCL transport don’t have a time assigned. They know when you are arriving and have that already scheduled. I don’t know how it will work with testing but I assume it will be already scheduled and planned.

The Gem begins sailing August 15th you have time to see how early sailings are working out. Florida can’t stop cruises they can only access fines and only if there is proof the law was broken. I have no idea how this will turn out but I have faith that NCL will still sail and work this out through the courts

The mention of the dress code reminded me of another related topic. Here I have been going through all this effort to buy clothes that will allow me to adhere to the social norms on Celebrity, but I have completely left out the fact that my hair is currently green and will likely be rainbow colors by the time I sail (I have a hair appointment next Wednesday and my stylist and I had agreed on "oil slick" for my next hair color).
Here are the two sample photos I was planning to bring to her:
I really love this look. I wish I hadn't lost my mind and chopped all my hair off, not wanting to wear and mask and deal with hair. Growing it out is slow and painful.

But if it gets a water slide and a race track, it immediately attracts families with children and that’s not what Celebrity is about.I have been following the Prima for a while and it is possible that those will be added but I hope not and I see nothing in the renderings to imply that those features will be added. I do expect there will be something for families and I am sure there will be the kids clubs. It is my hope that the Prima class will be more adult oriented and the breakaway+ will remain family focused. Who knows at this point.

This applies to tsa precheck and global entry as well. Everything is behind.

I think the new Prima class is to directly compete with Celebrity. It looks to be a beautiful class of ships I am excited to see NCL move in that direction

But the other cruise lines are adhering by allowing unvaccinated passengers onboard. Obviously NCL prefers 100% vaccinated. I think that’s smart, especially given the recent rise in cases due to the more contagious and virulent Delta variant.
Do we know if any of the cruise lines have been fined or not? There is currently no way to know when and if Florida will enforce the law.

deleted. I need more info

I now think of booking cruises as a game of chance. Eventually I will hit the bonus of an actual sailing. Also my time off is very flexible

I am holding out hope my Sept cruise will sail and that NCL will move forward regardless or will win an injunction to the law.

Actually you can do more than one per port.
