  1. I've probably spent over 10 months total on the QM2 but haven't been back since 2019. As far as I can remember, the internet was a problem in the last decade on the ship, especially in the rooms and hallways. This was sometimes frustrating for me because I had to take care of some business emails and sometimes phone calls but the link quality was really bad. Until I figured out that the problem was the WIFI, not the ship's internet. My mistake initially was thinking that the satellite connection is not good. I don't know what the situation is now but up until 2019 the 'fix' was simple. Go down to deck 2 front, where the computer classes are being taught. There is an area outside with drinks, desks, and chairs etc. In that area the WIFI is fantastic, super fast and reliable, and you can get all your work done quickly. Using the internet during dinner time helps getting better internet speeds. It also makes sense to have outlook on your laptop so that you can receive and send all your emails in just a few minutes, instead of using a web email account.
  2. Thanks to everyone for your quick replies! I looked at the current drink packages. The one for minors and the alcohol free packages do not include bottled water. The first package to include bottled water is the 'easy package'. Looks like the kids will drink fruit cocktails all day and I'll stick to beer 🙂 When a bottle of water costs 6.50, it makes beer and wine look cheap :) For 3 adults and 3 kids, these basic drink packages increase the cruise cost by $193/day or $32/person/day, ($2700 for entire 14 day cruise). I guess if we drink 'heavily' it will work out (^_^). On the other hand, with that amount of money you could buy about 25 bottles of water a day... So I guess if we drink a few glasses of wine and espressos it will make sense to get the drink package. Now it's just a matter of 'finding' the extra $2700 before the cruise 🙂
  3. Sorry if this has been asked before, I haven't found any info elsewhere. I wonder if the cruise ship MSC meraviglia offers a 'deal' on bottled water that we can use in the cabin. On other ships we had such offers, for example for 12 bottles of 1L or similar. Because we are six travelers and usually don't drink tap water, it may become a cost issue on a 14 day cruise 🙂 thank you!
