    2. That strip steak is absolutely awful.  It's so bad they have to drown it in an overly salted gravy just to give it some taste.

My experience on The Escape in Feb was the opposite. Strip steak was cooked to my preferred temp and I asked for the sauce on the side, which I didn’t taste because the steak was seasoned perfectly with just salt and pepper.
maybe ask for the gravy/sauce on the side next time.

  2. Incredible examples of groce and rude behavior, but my opinion is that this behavior is limited to a small number of passengers (from my observations and cruising on multiple lines). I tend to cruise in the off season, stay in areas of the ship that are less crowded (spa, the haven), dine when most aren’t.
    Enjoy your cruising

  3. Hello. We are considering a Mediterranean cruise on the Breakaway (our first time on that ship) and I wonder about the opportunity cost to book a Haven suite or a balcony suite on this ship in an aft cabin. It will be port intensive, and we will need time to relax at the end of the day. We are Platinum level and that will get us some extra perks (laundry, specialty dining). Thoughts? Thank you!

It's a nice little thermal spa

Hello. We are sailing on the Star in May and got thermal suite pass for the entire trip. I read there is a lap pool in the thermal suite. Do you know the length of the pool?  Any other tips about the thermal suite on the Star would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

In fact, all the other ships in the NCL fleet COMBINED do not equal the number of technical woes the Star has faced in her 23 years of service

Wow! We are sailing on thr Star at the end of May.  Do you know if her technical woes improved after the 2022 renovations?

We disembarked and stayed in Trieste a day after our cruise in April 2022. I honestly wish we had stayed longer, and if I get the chance, I want to return to Trieste as it is such an interesting fusion of traditional Italian cuisine and sensibilities with the Slavic

Wow! That sounds incredible and you have got me curious about Trieste.

It's an only 10 place train carriage, with a lot of place and food service. A really special service, and from Florence or Rome to Venice

Sounds like my kind of travel. Thank you for this suggestion

  8. This post is perfect timing. We just booked an NCL cruise that embarks from Rome and disembarks in Trieste. This is great info on getting into Venice. We are considering an extra night or two in Venice and take the train to Rome for our flight home (flight cost for us will be less expensive traveling to/from Rome). Anyone take the train to Rome from Venice? Any recommendations?  Thank you!

Looks like the big loungers that use to be on Coral Princess have also disappeared, but replaced with wood slat chairs and small tables. It’s better than nothing, and I’m wondering if NCL could do the same thing?

That looks classy. On the Jade there are portions of the promenade deck that are wide enough to allow small table and chairs.

However I would imagine that everyone on your booking would have to pay for the upgrade not just one person.

Hello.  We upgraded to the Premium Plus package in January on our first day of the cruise, and we had to upgrade both of us, not just one person.

'66 by Norwegian brand was way better than the included one and worth the extra $2.40

Completely agree. We love the 66 Prosecco, we bought a bottle to bring home. We are going on a cruise in 10 days on The Escape, and I’m going to buy 2 bottles to bring home.

Hello! Do you remember the name of the shop at BVI that carries the Havana slippers?

Hello. It was La Boutique. It’s located in the shopping area at the cruise terminal Tortola, BVI. Go inside and have a look.  I always seem to find something I love, including Haviana slippers. 🩴

    Have fun!

Looking for the menu of alcohol choices in the regular (not premium) beverage package.  Have searched for such a posting, but unable to find.

    Can someone post same?

Hello. Here is a pic of the wine list from our Jan 2024 cruise on The Jade. It is the same wine list we had on the Escape in Nov 2023. The premium wines are part of the unlimited open bar, which means the wines are $15/glass or less. It also includes the Premium Plus wines, which are > $15/glass

In reference to a “regular beverage package,” I believe this is the Premium wines, and it is the unlimited open bar/free at sea package  In regards to spirits, you can look here for a list of spirits https://www.ncl.com/sites/default/files/790164-BEV_Package_Flyer_UOBP_PPBP Update_V7_no_crops.pdf
