  1. It’s the Princess cult…you can’t say anything about your experience with Princess unless it is 100% stellar perfection without getting attacked and admonished for not feeling blessed enough for being able to cruise.
  2. I think the biggest thing that pushed me to Premium on my first cruise was the photo package. Their photos are exorbitant. It was a short cruise and my first cruise, so I wouldn’t do that every time, and likely not ever on a long cruise (why do they give the same amount of included specialty dinners on a 4 day west coast cruise as they do on a 30 day cruise!!! They should give say 1 specialty dinner for every 3 or 4 days of sailing).
  3. It’s perfectly appropriate to complain about not getting the experience you were sold and paid for. That doesn’t mean it’s okay to be abusive to staff, but I really do not see any unhinged posts across this or any other forum I participate in. Princess really botched this launch, screwing over their passengers on the Feb 8 & Feb 18 sailings, and not providing more equitable adjustments to their current sailing for the lack of open infrastructure. People are right to expect to get what they paid for and to expect for Princess (or any cruise line) to make it right when they fail to deliver. That doesn’t mean those people are never happy, want Princess to fail, or have unrealistic or unreasonable expectations.
  4. As someone who was booked on the 18th and followed the whole debacle leading into the cancellation of the 8th…and followed the aftermath on many forums with many affected passengers, not one passenger reported having a policy where any of our expenses were covered. If you are aware of one, please do share the details because I am sure 9,000 of us would be interested in that information…it seems if the cancellation was due to adverse weather or circumstances beyond the cruise line’s control, those circumstances would be covered, but not in the case where the cruise line didn’t have their ship ready and elected to cancel.
  5. But the flaw in this logic is that not all passengers got an offer, nor did Princess disclose WHY they were making these offers…so those passengers don’t have all the information (what will be open, what won’t) to make an informed decision.
  6. No travel insurance covers the non-refundables under the situation we experienced where the cruise line cancelled their own cruise. All passengers who reported how that worked out said the insurers insisted that was Princess’ responsibility.
  7. Meanwhile, legions of Princess die hards are telling the affected passengers how to feel, that they’re just a bunch of negative Nancy’s, and how blessed they should all feel for the privilege of Princess screwing them over. Glad some of you get it…they cancelled 2 cruises buying themselves almost an extra month…the people on what became the inaugural cruise didn’t book on the inaugural cruise. NONE of the elements that were promoted for the past couple of years (Arena & Dome shows, Park 19 Spellbound, Love by Britto) are operational. And they have taken minimal responsibility for not delivering on the experiences customers paid for and offered shockingly little in exchange to both the cancelled cruisers and the ones on this unfinished ship.
  8. Yes. Princess isn’t doing jack for anyone sailing (or attempting to sail) on the Sun Princess.
  9. Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you are being compensated.
