Thank you! Others from Texas or just others on the trip? I have not dealt with Viking air and am trying to figure out if they will send up direct or all over the country. 🙂 These were all extra, not included, correct? Would you mind saying how much the excursions cost? I have realized that we will being paying to do the ones that attract us the most and am trying to budget.

Did you book your own excursion or just taxi to a beach to snorkel? Did you fly non stop on United? Were there people from the Houston area who took 28 hours to get there???

Stephenandrew…this is great! Thanks so much! I have heard that we will pretty much need to book outside of Viking for any ‘active’ excursions.

What excursions did you do? What company did you use?

The race is the one I really want to do. What level cabin were you? I am DV4; worried it will be booked before it’s my turn to sign up.

We will be going in October. Also out of IAH. Anxious to hear what the recent travlers have to say about their trip.

I am not the OP, but I just want to thank all of you for your kind and respectful replies. I am new to Viking and joined some FB groups that would have not treated the question so kindly. In fact, many posters are so condescending and rude, it’s made me seriously rethink going on a Viking cruise. You have restored my faith!

My Viking rep isn’t the named contact who handles all those situations?

Ironically, yesterday I received an email from my employer’s benefits team announcing all sorts of cruise specials. I looked up my Viking cruise and the prices are the exact same, but they were offering $300 pp shipboard credits. I reached out to my Viking rep to ask if they did that and he mentioned transferring to the TA. So back to the original question…other than the credits, what do I gain by moving to a TA? What do I lose by switching? This is our first Viking cruise (our last cruise was over 20 years ago on RC) and we are not very experienced travelers. We want things to go as smoothly as possible. Thanks!
