It would seem the bazillion threads on this topic have fallen off the first 5 pages.
Simple answer: You get what you pay for.
Book your own flights.

Yes, a deal that can't be beat. Buyer beware.

Is there a way to reserve or book a court to play pickleball?
Is there even a pickleball court on your ship?
Does it matter?

If you are truly committed to an itinerary, NCL is not your best choice.
This is true for any cruise line. If you use a cruise ship simply as a hotel and restaurant, you're doing it wrong.
I cruise to be on the sea.

For that price I'll take the Cunard and have a whole ship of luxury instead of a fishbowl to vacation in.

Wow, wow, wow. A karen without a clue. Is there such a thing as an anti-karen? Nope. I didn't think so.

Not sure bout all y’all, but I think a mere ten percent off offer for this inconvenience is a sort of b00lsh33t.
We're all well aware of your opinion about NCL.
For reference, I got a New Zealand cruise cancelled that I booked for fun, with maybe some intention of actually going. I was able to put that 10% towards an $8000 cruise I already had booked.
I'm a happy man. The grass on my side of the fence is green enough for me.

Three pages now when the original question from the OP could have been answered with a simple NO.
And yet, you can't resist the insatiable urge to post something else that we all already know.
I'm with you brother, I'm with you. 🤣

on the other hand, credit for price drops is also silly. What other areas of the travel industry work like that. If everyone starts monitoring cruise prices and asking for FCC after price drops, that will blow it for everyone.
Your bark isn't working up my tree.
I currently have a substantial payment to Delta on an international flight that is non-refundable, but I will get a future credit if the price drops. You can bet I will be watching air fares.
I'm staying at 3 different Marriott properties in the Netherlands on points. I will most certainly rebook if the point amounts drop.
So, to answer your question, it works in all areas of the travel industry.

Not everyone is trying to scheme in life.
Of course, not everyone, but we do both live on the same planet, right? 😃

I would think they’d have tours available no matter when you boarded
It's pretty well known that Platinum ship tours and wine tastings fill up quickly. I guess I'll find out when I get there.

That is exactly why you can't get it prior. NCL just got you on a 4-day cruise. 😆

You can have a vile lobster sauce with ravioli every night in the main dining room. It's on the appetizer section
Vile? Interesting how food is so subjective. I love the "vile" lobster sauce.

Heheh. Just because I see a duck, and hear a duck, doesn't mean I'm going to ignore the shotgun in the bushes.

I just retired and wanting to get the best value for my dollar.
Consider our advice but apply it to your dollar. If you drink more than 2 drinks a day, NCL is for you. If you want a couple gratuities-only specialty meals, NCL is for you.
If you are a partier and want to be entertained every moment of every day and night, look at other options. Large, expensive production shows are on the wane with NCL. Others do better.
The solo lounge, and solo cabin options (and cost) can be incredible, but not always.
Research, research, research. It's your dollar, not ours.
Happy cruising!
(personal opinion: choose NCL)

but then who's motive are you applying, yours or the questioners, or even another's motive which may not have been anything sinister.
But, but, that's the point! What is the motive behind an OP? or a response to an OP? Do they simply want to know if their son can get a virgin drink? Or are they attempting to "find a scheme" to get around paying for their son's drink? Motive.

Exactly. Feel free to join in.

This morning I received email confirmation that our request for $680 FCC was approved. My price watching has paid off big time! Good luck!
Welcome to the NCL family! They have some benefits that you wouldn't otherwise see until it actually puts money back in your pocket.
Have a great cruise.
(apologies, of course to our European cruisers)

When we were on the Encore last month, we also were not able to make MDR reservations before the cruise.
Did you try chat? I bet you didn't. 😉

Will be on the Encore first time in May. How were the wait times to be seated at the MDR? Last cruise I reserved some dining times because we like to eat at a certain time. This time there is no option to book dining times in any of the dining rooms.
From experience, book MDR for the first night, for sure. It's a cluster. We didn't have more than a 5 to 10-minute wait at the MDR's after the first night.
Also, if reservations aren't available online, use chat, or call. You will get them.

No, I'm quite certain it was me. Unless someone had an issue with being called out for "mansplaining", which definitely wasn't me.
Oh well. The inner workings here are as mysterious as the inner workings of NCL. 😆

Maybe I just stay in dumpy hotels, but I have always stayed in hotels that had a sign to dump used towels on the floor if I wanted new ones.
Standard for a decade, sign or not. If you want towels replaced, put them on the floor. If they're hanging on the rack, they will stay there.

CONS: Our room steward was terrible and she didn't make up the room twice, even though the light was on. So we ran out of towels and she was unphased by it.
Since you're back in the thread, would you be willing to post your cabin #? I like to be prepared.
